Horizon Zero Dawns final patch for PC has arrived

Horizon Zero Dawn was finally released for PC users last year, but the console port to the PC gamers was not a smooth transition. The PC port of the game was not well optimized and featured sluggish performance and a stuttery frame rate. The game looked up to the mark but had terrible frame rates, even on high-end configurations that were way above the recommended specs. The developers released several patches that kind of fixed the issues, but many users are still facing similar problems.

Final update for Horizon Zero Dawn on PC rolling out

Version 1.10 promises to clean up the remaining bugs and resolve the frame stuttering issues. According to the developer Guerilla Games, this is the final patch the game is going to receive to resolve the issues, as this update is quite large and should fix most of the problems. The developers state that updates will be “less frequent,” which likely means that unless any other major game-breaking bugs pop up, this is pretty much the last big update for the game. 

As per Guerilla Games, this PC port will receive the last major update unless there is a breakdown, as the developers are shifting their focus towards developing Horizon Forbidden West, which is a highly anticipated follow-up to Aloy’s initial adventure.

“As our team continues development on our upcoming title Horizon Forbidden West, we are shifting to less frequent updates for Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for PC after this patch. Please note that we will continue to monitor our community spaces as always! We want to thank you all for your continued support and for sending in your crash reports over the past months. The information we received through your reports was invaluable to further investigate and help fix some of the trickier issues that we fixed in Patch 1.10.” stated said by the developers in their official blog.

Motorola confirms Edge S to launch on 26 January with Snapdragon 870 SoC

Just after the announcement of the Snapdragon 870 chipset, Motorola confirmed the announcement of their Motorola Edge S with this new chipset.

The phone had already been teased on Weibo previously, which gave hints about the new chipset. Motorola has now confirmed that the phone will be unveiled on January 26, and will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 870 chipset. After quite a long time, Motorola has unveiled a new flagship phone which is also the first Moto Edge smartphone in China.

As per Lenovo’s Weibo account, the Motorola Edges S is going to be the first phone in the world to be powered by the new Snapdragon 870 chipset. The 870 is a 7nm chipset with a clock speed of 3.2GHz and is an overclocked version of the 865+ which is also an overclocked version of 865, meaning this SoC is a double overclocked chip.

The phone is reported to have a 6.7-inch display, with FHD+ resolution and a unique 105Hz refresh rate. The phone will come with either 8 GB or 12 GB RAM and feature a 64MP primary camera. There have been rumours about a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 5,000 mAh battery, but no news is available about the charging speed of the device.

The phone will run on ZUI based on Android 11, although it is not yet confirmed if the phone will see a global release or just in the China region.
