Xiaomi to unveil new audio products on February 22 in India

Xiaomi will launch new audio products on February 22 in India. The company has sent out invites to the media for the upcoming announcement which is scheduled for February 22 at 12 PM. Xiaomi has not exactly revealed which audio products it is going to launch but we should start hearing about them in the heads up to the launch.

Xiaomi is sending out invites with a teaser poster titled “The Mi Sound Unveil”. Interestingly, we can notice two wired earphones placed at the top-left and bottom-right corners hinting at the possibility that a new pair of earphones may arrive soon.

We also get to see a grille mesh design in the middle which is likely a speaker though it remains unclear how it will actually look like. Xiaomi has been expanding its audio catalogue from a while now, and it currently offers a wide range of audio products to choose from. There’s the Mi Soundbar for televisions, Mi and Redmi branded wired/wireless earphones, Wireless headphones, TWS earphones Bluetooth speakers, smart speakers and more.

For once, the rumour mill is silent on what products Xiaomi is planning to launch on February 22. Having said that, Xiaomi India MD, Manu Kumar Jain has confirmed that they will announce two new audio products in the coming weeks. It remains to be seen which audio products Xiaomi plans to launch but given that there are ten days between now and the launch date, Xiaomi could start releasing teasers officially next week onwards.

Asus ROG Phone 5 allegedly spotted on Geekbench with Snapdragon 888 and 16GB RAM

Asus ROG Phone 5 has reportedly made an appearance on Geekbench ahead of its official launch. The next ROG Phone is expected to launch by March-end or early April and could be called the ROG Phone 5. The much-awaited gaming smartphone has earlier made an appearance on TENAA revealing key specifications as well.

A listing for the model number Asus_I005DA is live on Geekbench which is said to be the ROG Phone 5. The phone in the listing is powered by the Snapdragon 888 processor which is paired with 16GB RAM and is running on Android 11. This indicates that the phone in question could be the ROG Phone 5. Interestingly, all previous sightings of this phone across different certification channels have it listed as Asus_I005DA which is the same model number in the new Geekbench listing.

Asus ROG Phone 5 could feature a 6.78-inch Full HD+ display with an AMOLED panel and 144Hz high refresh rate. It could be equipped with a 6,000mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging out-of-the-box.

The ROG Phone 5 will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 888 processor with a triple camera setup on the back headlined by a 64MP primary camera. The upcoming phone is shown to feature the AniMe dot matrix display that first debuted on the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14. With AniMe dot matrix, users can customize the screen to display any image or text message.

There’s also the presence of dual 3,000mAh battery cells that totals to 6,000mAh of power with support for 65W fast charging. Asus is yet to reveal the launch date of the ROG Phone 5, however, the new phone is rumoured to launch sometime at the end of March or in April.

TCL P-series 4K HDR TV powered by Android 11 to launch in India soon

TCL will soon launch a new 4K HDR television under its P-series powered by Android 11 in India. This could well make it the first such TV running on Google’s latest TV OS in the country. TCL revealed its P-series TV lineup during CES 2021 which was held in January. 

The upcoming TCL P-series TVs has a metallic finish and supports both Dolby Vision and Atmos for enhancing the viewing experience. Moreover, the new televisions are backed by MEMC processing, hands-free voice control features and more.

Mike Chen, General Manager TCL India said, “We are very excited to launch our latest offering, which was also one of the line-ups that we showcased at the recently-held CES. The TV not only offers great looks but is also packed with cutting-edge technologies that will make entertainment more seamless for users.”

While the company is yet to reveal the name of the upcoming 4K HDR TV, it did announce the TCL P725 during CES 2021. The TCL P725 is a 4K TV that also supports Dolby Vision and Atmos along with hands-free commands. It is also compatible with all popular streaming services. 

It remains to be seen which television TCL ends up launching, but the company has said that it is looking to price it in the affordable range. We will know more about the upcoming TCL 4K HDR TV as we near the launch date.

Redmi K40 series key specifications leaked ahead of launch on February 25

Xiaomi Redmi K40 series is at the centre of a new leak yet again, this time revealing key specifications. Xiaomi has confirmed it will launch the K40 series on February 25 with a new design. Moreover, the company will also announce the RedmiBook Pro with upto 11th gen Intel Core i7 processor alongside the Redmi K40 and K40 Pro.

According to a post on Weibo by WHYLAB, the Redmi K40 and K40 Pro feature 6.81-inch QHD+ (3200 x 1440 pixels) resolution display that uses AMOLED panel, likely with support for 120Hz refresh rate as well. The new information is sourced from the About Phone page of the Redmi K40 and K40 Pro.

Both phones are shown to run on MIUI 12.2 out-of-the-box with a primary 108MP camera. As per the leak, Redmi K40 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor while the Redmi K40 could have Snapdragon 870 under the hood. The Redmi K40 Pro showcased in the leak has 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage while the Redmi K40 has 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro have a 108MP primary camera, a 5MP macro camera, a 2MP depth sensor and a 30MP selfie camera. In addition, the Redmi K40 is expected to have an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera while the K40 pro gets a 13MP camera.

Apart from this, the K40 could be equipped with a 4,500mAh battery while the K40 Pro has a slightly larger 5,000mAh battery. We should know more about the upcoming Redmi K40 series at the time of its launch which is scheduled for February 25.

Moreover, Xiaomi will also announce the RedmiBook Pro alongside powered by the 11th generation Intel Core i7 H35-series special edition processor paired with NVIDIA MX450 graphics. The laptop is expected to feature a 2K display, NVMe SSD storage, Type-C port, biometric unlock and a backlit keyboard packed neatly in a durable build.
