Call of Duty: Mobile may soon add Gloves melee weapon to the game

It looks like Activision might be planning to add a new weapon to Call of Duty: Mobile’s melee category. The Chinese version of the game is reportedly adding gloves as part of its ‘Year of the Ox’ event. The event celebrates the Chinese lunar New Year by giving away Lunar New Year Crates. The crates in the Chinese version of the game feature gloves with the ‘Year of the Ox’ theme. It should be noted that while the same crate is also available in the global version, it does not feature gloves. It is not known if or when gloves will be added to the global version of Call of Duty: Mobile.

Call of Duty: Mobile - Gloves statistics

The new gloves can do damage of 50, with a fire rate of 10. It offers 90 in terms of mobility while the range is 10. By comparison, the in-game Axe does greater damage and has a higher range. But it offers a lower rate of fire and mobility.

Interestingly, the gloves seem to have identical specifications as the knife. As such, it’s possible that the gloves are nothing more than a highly customised skin for the knife. Regardless, the weapon is pretty cool and might make for an interesting addition to the global version of Call of Duty: Mobile.

Call of Duty: Mobile - Year of the Ox event

The Year of the Ox is among the newest feature events in Call of Duty: Mobile. While the global variant of the game may not include the gloves, it still has plenty of cool items on offer. The Lunar New Year Crates include the AK47-Year of the Ox, Axe-Quartz, MW11-Quartz and more. It also includes vehicle skins, Calling Cards and more.

In order to get the Lunar New Year Crates, players will have to complete certain challenges to get points. Amassing a certain number of points nets players these crates. There are a total of 10 crates on offer as part of the event. Players can also buy these crates from the in-game store by spending CP.

Besides this, Call of Duty: Mobile is also celebrating Valentine’s Day by offering special crates and bundles, you can learn more about that here.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra has leaked in its entirety, showing off its huge camera bump flanked by a smaller secondary display. Xiaomi launched the Mi 11 back in December in China, and it went global earlier this month. A video published by Tech Buff on YouTube allegedly shows-off the Mi 11 Ultra in two colours, black and white with an extended camera bump that also protrudes out of the back panel. This is not the first time we are seeing phones with an extended camera island but here, it seems to pack more than what meets the eye. The video was first spotted by the folks over at XDA developers who also reported that the video was taken down shortly after they published their article. Before we go further, do note that Xiaomi is yet to reveal its plans of launching any more phones in the Mi 11 series.

Googles desktop search page finally receives a Dark Mode

If you’re a fan of Dark Mode (and really, who isn’t), then there’s a bit of good news for you guys. Google has confirmed that it is testing out the feature on the Search page for Desktop. According to Google, search pages’ backgrounds will also appear in Dark Mode. We have noticed that the Search page on Desktop has been turned to Dark Mode. But, the search pages are still appearing as they did, without Dark Mode enabled. We are currently on a Windows 10 OS. We assume that the rollout is still taking place, so we should be seeing the changes in a few days.

Dark Mode Google Search Page

In a statement to The Verge, Google stated, “We’re always testing new ways to improve our experience for our users, but don’t have anything specific to announce right now.”. It has taken a bit of time for the feature to arrive on desktops. Dark Mode was available on Android as far back as early 2019. And, although the feature on Google Chrome isn't as straightforward as on many other apps either. While Android mobile devices offer an easy way to activate it, Windows and Macs have their own settings.

How to enable Dark Mode on Google's Search Page

If you are having trouble enabling the feature on Chrome, head on over to Google’s official support page for a detailed guide. Dark Mode has become a new 'must-have' feature on your mobile phones, PCs, laptops and basically all the other devices that come with a display. The feature integrated into apps, browsers, UI's and wherever it fits into the digital ecosystem. It took sometime to hit desktops, but it looks like it is finally here.
