Asus ROG Phone 5 is now confirmed to launch on March 10 in India. The much-awaited gaming smartphone will launch globally at the same time as India. Asus has also confirmed that the phone will go on sale on Flipkart after its debut. The ROG Phone 5 has been leaked previously and recently the phone’s audio performance was reviewed by DxOMark revealing its design in all its glory.

Asus ROG Phone 5 launch details

The ROG Phone 5 is scheduled to launch on March 10 from 4:15 PM onwards in India. The launch event will be simultaneously hosted in Taipei, Berlin and New York. Asus ROG Phone 5 leaked specifications

Asus ROG Phone 5 could feature a 6.78-inch Full HD+ display with an AMOLED panel and 144Hz high refresh rate.

The Asus ROG Phone 5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. The chipset is expected to be paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The rear panel of the phone has an AniMe dot matrix panel allowing users to personalize it to display any image or text message.

The ROG Phone 5 will likely have 64MP triple cameras on the back as seen in the image released by DxOMark. The phone is expected to sport a dual 3,000mAh battery that totals to 6,000mAh of charge with support for 65W fast charging. The phone is expected to run on Android 11 out of the box. We can also expect the company to introduce some gaming accessories along with the launch of the phone on March 10 in India.

Realme Narzo 30 series will launch on February 24 in India alongside the Realme Buds Air 2 with active noise cancellation features. The Realme Narzo 30A and 30 Pro have been doing the rounds of the Internet in the heads up to the official launch. The Narzo 30 Pro is a mid-range smartphone with gaming chops while the Narao 30A is a budget entry, both powered by MediaTek processors.

Realme has scheduled the launch of the Narzo 30 series at 12:30 PM on February 24. The event will be live-streamed across the company’s social media handles on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Realme Narzo 30 series leaked specifications

The Realme Narzo 30 Pro is expected to feature a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with support for upto 120Hz high-refresh-rate and is topped with Gorilla Glass. The phone is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor with 5G support.

Additionally, the phone has been leaked to have triple cameras on the back headlined by a 48MP primary camera, an ultra-wide-angle camera and a depth sensor or a macro camera.

The Narzo 30 Pro is also expected to be Dolby Atmos-certified and supports Hi-res audio. The Narzo 30 Pro is likely equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging out-of-the-box.

Meanwhile, the Narzo 30A is rumoured to feature a 6.5-inch display with a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera up front. The phone could be powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 processor and will be offered in black and light blue colours.

The Narzo 30A could have dual cameras on the back with a 13MP primary camera and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. The phone is expected to be equipped with a 6,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging.

Security researchers discover 30,000 Macs infected by Silver Sparrow malware

It seems like there’s trouble brewing over at Apple. Discovered by security researchers Red Canary, a virus called Silver Sparrow seems to have infected almost 30,000 Macs. The only saving grace is that there seems to be no real reason why these Macs have been infected by the virus. It looks to be a new strain of macOS malware that affects Intel and Apple Silicon processors. Red Canary has stated that the malware does pose a ‘reasonably serious threat’ and that it, “did not exhibit the behaviours that we’ve come to expect from the usual adware that so often targets macOS systems.”

The security researchers also stated that the malware doesn’t really do anything, as of now. But that doesn't mean it couldn’t affect something or the other in the future. In fact, the researches state that the virus was “positioned to deliver a potentially impactful payload at a moment’s notice”. So, there could have been serious consequences if this threat had not been detected sooner.

As of now, the team still has no idea how the virus spread through so many Macs. Apple has also rescinded developer certificates that let the virus infect other Macs and that no new Macs will be affected by this particular malware. In fact, Apple has also updated its Platform Security Guide, a document that has only grown over the last decade. Currently, the guide sits at over 200 pages and outlines every security measure that Apple implements across its set of devices and operating systems, including iOS, iPadOS and even WatchOS. Google Pixel 5a looks indistinguishable from the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 in these leaked pictures

The Google Pixel 5a could launch soon as pictures of the alleged affordable phone have allegedly leaked. The Pixel 5a is expected to be a toned-down version of the Pixel 5 that launched last year, however, it seemingly looks indistinguishable from the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 at least on the outside.

According to a post on Voice by popular tipster OnLeaks, the Pixel 5a is in the works and will soon launch with an OLED screen, dual cameras and more. “The Pixel 5a is the exact copy of the Pixel 4a 5G which, from a purely aesthetic point of view, is nothing but a larger Pixel 5,” OnLeaks writes in his report.

The Google Pixel 5a is expected to have the same unibody build as the Pixel 4a 5G. This could mean that the phone has a plastic build with curved edges measuring 8.8 millimetres in thickness. The Pixel 5a features a 6.2-inch Full HD+ display that uses an OLED screen with a punch-hole cutout in the top-left corner. 

The Pixel 5a is expected to have dual cameras on the back, but the tipster has no information on the kind of sensor it uses. This is backed by a flash, all housed within the squircle camera module. The Pixel 4a 5G notably has a 12 MP primary camera followed by a 16MP ultra-wide-angle camera, so it is likely that we will see the same on the Pixel 5a.

As per the report, the Pixel 5a could have a 3.5mm headphone jack, a rear fingerprint reader and stereo speakers. This is all that OnLeaks has on the Pixel 5a which could launch soon.

Activision reportedly testing Among Us-inspired Werewolf mode in Call of Duty: Mobile

Among Us was one of the indie darlings of 2020. The game was quite popular with streamers due to its asymmetrical gameplay that was simple, yet complicated. Now though, it looks like Call of Duty: Mobile might offer a similar gameplay mode in the game. As per AFKGaming, the Chinese version of the game is adding a new mode called ‘Werewolf Mode.” This is apparently heavily inspired by Among Us.

YouTuber Zenix has posted a video showing the new game mode in action.

How Werewolf mode works in Call of Duty: Mobile

According to Zenix’ video, the game will start with 12 players. These players will then have to scavenge for weapons and ammo. This part closely resembles the ‘tasks’ bit in Among Us. However, one of the players will act as the ‘imposter’. This player will have to kill other players and sabotage equipment. Sometimes, there will be group meetings where players can discuss and try to solve who the imposter is. After the meeting, there will be a voting session where players go for a player they think is the imposter. The player with the most votes is cast out. If the players fail to cast out the imposter, the game continues to the next meeting. If the players fail to find the imposter, then the imposter will win.

It is not yet known if the mode will ever be introduced in the global version of the game. It should be noted that the mode also sounds like it has a lot less focus on action as compared to other game modes. This might not gel with players as Call of Duty as a franchise known for its fast-paced nature. We’ll just have to wait and see if Activision decides to introduce the game mode to the global audience.

OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 9 Lite camera details revealed in new leak

OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 9 Lite key specifications have leaked yet again, this time giving us a brief look at the cameras. The OnePlus 9 series is rumoured to be launched by mid-March and the new leak reveals some more details about the affordable OnePlus 9 phone dubbed as the OnePlus 9 Lite.

According to a report by Techmaniacs, a European news outlet, the OnePlus 9 Pro will have a 48MP primary camera followed by a 64MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a telephoto camera offering upto 3.3x optical zoom. As for the OnePlus 9 Lite, it could have a 64MP primary camera and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. As always, we would advise our readers to take this with a pinch of salt.

OnePlus 9 Pro leaked specifications

The report states that the OnePlus 9 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 processor and paired with 8GB RAM with 128GB storage for the base variant. There’s a 48MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 64MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and a telephoto camera with 3.3x optical zoom. 

It is expected to feature a QHD+ (3216 x 1440 pixels) resolution display which uses an AMOLED screen with an adaptive refresh rate going upto 120Hz. As per previous leaks, the display on the OnePlus 9 Pro could measure 6.7-inches with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The phone could be equipped with a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging. 

The report also says that the cameras have been tuned by Hasselblad which means that an official announcement could happen soon. The rear cameras will also be able to shoot in 8K and 4K UHD at upto 120FPS.

OnePlus 9 Lite leaked specifications

OnePlus 9 Lite is the much-rumoured affordable phone in the series which could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 processor with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The phone is expected to feature a 6.5-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) display with support for 90Hz refresh rate.

As for the cameras, the leak indicates that the phone has a primary 64MP camera with an f/1.7 aperture along with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The battery on the OnePlus 9 Lite is expected to be 5,000mAh

As per earlier leaks, the OnePlus 9 Lite could be powered by the Snapdragon 870 processor which is not in line with the latest information. OnePlus is yet to reveal any details on the launch of the OnePlus 9 series, but we will keep an eye out for when it happens.

Huawei Mate X2 foldable phone with 8-inch display and quad cameras launched: Price and specifications

Huawei Mate X2 has officially launched in China as the successor to the Mate X from 2019. The Mate X2 features an 8-inch foldable display when unfolded but when folded, you get a 6.45-inch flagship smartphone that is packed to the brim with the latest hardware. It folds inwards as opposed to the outward folding mechanism we have seen in the previous generation.

The Huawei Mate X2 has launched in China starting at CNY 17,999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage and CNY 18,999 for the 512GB storage option. This roughly translates to a starting price of Rs 2,00,000 by direct conversion. Having said that, there is no official word on the launch of the Mate X2 outside of China yet.

Huawei Mate X2 specifications

The Huawei Mate X2 has an aluminium chassis that measures 8.2 millimetres when unfolded and 14.7 millimetres when folded. The phone has been given a wedge-shaped design that measures 4.4 millimetres at its thinnest point. 

There’s a 6.45-inch Full HD+ (2700 x 1160 pixels) resolution display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a selfie camera housed within the notch cutout. When unfolded, there’s a large 8-inch OLED screen with a 2480 x 2200 pixels resolution and supports a 90Hz refresh rate. 

The Mate X2 is powered by the Kirin 9000 5G processor with an octa-core CPU and Mali-G78 GPU. This is paired with 8GB RAM and upto 256GB storage options to choose from. It also supports storage expansion via nano memory cards of upto 256GB. It runs on Android 10 based EMUI 11 and uses Huawei Mobile services.

Huawei Mate X2 has quad cameras on the back headlined by a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.9 aperture, a 12MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, an 8MP periscope telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom and a 16MP ultra-wide-angle camera. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera housed within the notch cutout. The rear cameras can record in 4K UHD at upto 60FPS and is backed by OIS and EIS.

The Mate X2 has stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint reader and is equipped with a 4,500mAh battery that supports 55W fast charging out-of-the-box.
