Call of Duty: Mobile Season 2 gets a new multiplayer map and Tank Battle mode

Call of Duty: Mobile Season 2 has received the new Shipment multiplayer map and a Tank Battle mode in Battle Royale. To recall, the new Shipment map was introduced with the public beta update and now has received a revamp as Shipment 2019. Along with this, a new Tank Battle mode has been added to the Battle Royale mode allowing players to assemble a tank and go against one another.

Call of Duty: Mobile Season 2 new multiplayer map

COD: Mobile players can experience the new map as well as the new model as it has gone live on March 19. The new Shipment 2019 map is a modern iteration after its 1944 World War II setting in the older version of the map. The Shipment map remains one of the smallest maps offered by the mobile game and is a haven for close-quarter combats.

The map also allows players to jump on the top of containers to get leverage with some vantage points but otherwise most battle happens on the ground. Players can try a mix of SMGs, assault rifles and even snipers on this map, but they need to be familiar with it first.

The new Tank Battle mode allows players to hop into a tank and go head to head with heavy artillery. The players need to acquire the parts of the tank from a vending machine placed at various strategic places on the map. These vending machines also offer anti-tank weapons as well as components to build a tank and repair guns as well.

A tank can be called after 5 components have been collected by a player. Some blueprints for building a tank can also be collected from airdrops, so don’t forget to keep an eye out for those. Furthermore, the task at hand is to capture the depot by a tank that also provides repairs and ammunition. Players will have to take their tanks to one of the depots until the final circle. The Tank Battle mode is live in Call of Duty: Mobile Season 2 until March 24.

OnePlus 9 series phones will get a two-year warranty in China, but not in India or the US

The OnePlus 9 series launch is just a few days away now and the company is still feeding us teasers and information, leading up to the launch event. The new piece of info, coming straight from the CEO Pete Lau himself is that the OnePlus 9 series phones will get a two-year warranty instead of one.

Pete made an elaborate post on Weibo explaining how most users replace their flagship phones typically in two years and the new OnePlus 9 series warranty period will now reflect their replacement cycle.

OnePlus 9 series launches on March 23.

As exciting as this news is, it's worth pointing out that the two-year warranty offer will be limited to China only. Yes, according to the OnePlus representatives who spoke with the folks over at Android Authority, that particular Weibo post about the extended warranty period was specific to China.

In India and North America, however, the phones will continue to have the same one-year warranty for free based on industry-standard. An extended warranty can be availed at an additional cost, of course. This is a little disappointing news considering the fact that OnePlus is a popular name in India.

Two-year warranties are mandatory for devices in Europe, so the consumers in that region will be covered by the law. So this means the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro variants in both China and Europe will come with a two-year warranty, whereas the Indian and North American variants won't get the same treatment.

OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro Launch Details

OnePlus will be hosting a virtual event on March 23 to launch the new phones. The company will also be launching the much-awaited OnePlus Watch alongside the new phones. Recently, we also learned that the company is preparing the OnePlus 9R for the Indian market, and it will debut alongside the new phones on the same day.

OnePlus 9 series confirmed to feature Warp Charge 50 Wireless and Warp Charge 65T fast charging

OnePlus 9 series is confirmed to feature Warp Charge 50 Wireless and Warp Charge 65T wired charging. The OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 9R alongside the OnePlus Watch is all set to launch on March 23 in India. The company has been teasing some key features of the upcoming flagship smartphones and has even announced a partnership with Swedish camera-maker Hasselblad to improve the photography capabilities of the OnePlus 9 series.

In a post on OnePlus Forums, Kinder L, Head of R&D at OnePlus detailed the charging support offered by the upcoming OnePlus 9 series. OnePlus debuted its Warp Charge 30 wireless charging standard in 2020 with the OnePlus 8 Pro and has now upgraded it to 50W wireless charging.

No strings attached. With Warp Charge Wireless 50, the #OnePlus9Series packs our fastest ever wireless charging technology. Thanks to its twin-battery design, it can even outpace wired fast charging solutions - going from 1-100% in just 43 minutes.

— OnePlus India (@OnePlus_IN) March 18, 2021

OnePlus claims that the OnePlus 9 Pro can go from 1-100% in just 43 minutes which makes it one of the fastest wireless charging standards available commercially. OnePlus 9 Pro has a dua-cell configuration that is charged at 25W speeds. Though OnePlus does say that “compared with wired charging, wireless charging is less efficient, meaning more heat is produced during the charging process. With wireless charging, higher amperages lead to increased heat production, so, for Warp Charge 50 Wireless, we chose to use high voltage power instead.”

The dual-cell structure of the battery produces less heat during fast charging and is complimented by advanced cooling. The OnePlus 9 Pro has a large vapour chamber along with copper foil and graphite sheet that helps keep heat dissipation in check, allowing it to remain cooler when gaming or doing intensive tasks.

OnePlus will also launch the new Warp Charge 50 wireless charging dock alongside the OnePlus 9 series. The new charging dock has two coils that can charge the phone horizontally and vertically as well. It also has a detachable cable, unlike the previous generation. The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro also support 65W fast charging and the OnePlus has upgraded the battery from the OnePlus 8T to attain even faster-charging speeds.

The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro can go from 1-100% in 29 minutes tops with the Warp Charge 65T fast wired charging.
