ASUS Launches ZenBook Duo 14, ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED with dual screens and upgraded internals in India

ASUS debuted the ZenBook Duo dual-screen laptops back in October 2019 in India. Now, the company has now added two new machines to the lineup - the ZenBook Duo 14 and the ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED. The ZenBook Duo 14 (UX482EA) is Intel Evo verified and features up to the 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics. The ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED, on the other hand, is a more premium offering that comes loaded with up to 10th Gen Intel Core i9 processor backed by NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 and 32 GB of DDR4 RAM.

The ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED, as the name suggests, sports a 15.6-inch OLED display. It's a 4K UHD panel with touchscreen support and ASUS says it has 440 nits brightness, 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and 0.2ms response time. It's also said to be a PANTONE Validated display with 178-degree viewing angles and 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage.

In addition to the main 15.6-inch OLED panel, there's also a secondary display. It's a 14.1-inch ScreenPad Plus panel with a resolution of 3840x1100. It's an IPS touchscreen panel with 400 nits of max brightness and 100% sRGB coverage.

The ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED comes loaded with Intel's 10th generation processors. You can configure it with either an Intel Core i7-10870H or the Core i9-10980H processor. You also get the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 GPU with 8GB GDDR6 memory. It also has 32GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. Connectivity options include dual-band WiFi 6 + Bluetooth 5.0. The laptop is packed with a 92Wh battery and it also has an HD infrared webcam with Windows Hello support.

In addition to the more expensive ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED, ASUS has also launched the ZenBook Duo 14 which is a slightly smaller version of the same notebook. You get Intel's 11th generation processors on this one and you get to choose between either the Intel Core i7-1165G7 or the Core i5-1135G7 processors.

For GPU, you can choose to buy either the variant with the Intel Iris Xe graphics or Nvidia's GeForce MX450 GPU with 2GB GDDR6b memory. The ZenBook Duo 14 comes with up to 16GB LPDDR4X memory and up to 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. This one also supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 and there's also an HD infrared webcam with Windows Hello support. The ZenBook Duo 14 packs a 70Wh battery and you get a 65W USB Type C power adapter.

Pricing & Availability

ASUS has launched the ZenBook Duo 14 for a starting price of Rs 99,990 and it will be available to purchase starting April 14 from Amazon, Flipkart, and ASUS' retail partners. The ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED, on the other hand, will cost you Rs 2,39,990 for the base variant. We don't have an official availability date for this laptop but ASUS says it will go on sale sometime in the month of May.

Realme to launch MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G powered smartphone soon in India

MediaTek has announced the launch of its Dimensity 700 5G processor in India. The Dimensity 700 first broke cover in November 2020 globally and now Realme has revealed that it will be the first company to bring a Dimensity 700-powered phone to India very soon. Some recent rumours indicate that this could be the Realme 8 5G which has been spotted previously on Geekbench, however, it remains unclear just yet.

The MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC sits just below the Dimensity 720 which was launched back in July 2020 and has been fabricated on a 7nm process. As per Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme India, the company is gearing to launch the first MediaTek Dimensity 700 powered smartphone in India.

“In 2021, we were one of the first brands to bring smartphones with the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G chipset and now we are again the first to launch the MediaTek Dimensity 700 in our smartphones in India. As a 5G leader and popularizer, realme envisions bringing 5G-enabled smartphones with enhanced capabilities to users, so they can access their desired tech lifestyle. We are happy to have MediaTek as a partner in this journey. Together, we will continue to massify, develop and nurture an ecosystem of 5G smartphones in India and globally,” Madhav said in a statement to the media.

MediaTek Dimensity 700 features

MediaTek has announced the launch of its Dimensity 700 5G processor in India

MediaTek claims that the Dimensity 700 is up to 28 per cent more power-efficient than an equivalent 8nm chip. The new chip also supports Full HD+ (2520 x 1080 pixels) resolution display with up to 90Hz refresh rate that irons out jitters and frame drops when using the phone or playing a game on it.

The MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor brings 5G UltraSave power-saving features that improve the phone’s battery life. The processor is paired with an octa-core CPU that consists of two big Cortex-A76 cores running up to 2.2GHz followed by six small Cortex-A55 cores running at up to 2.0GHz. This is complemented by the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU clocked at up to 950MHz with the chip supporting up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and 2-lane UFS 2.2 storage system.

The Dimensity 700 supports up to a 64MP primary camera along with two additional sensors of up to 16MP. Some AI camera features include AI-bokeh, AI-colour and AI-beauty mode. The chip also offers hardware-based imaging accelerators like multi-frame noise reduction that enables low-light photography with less noise, anti-distortion, face detection and more.

The chip also comes with support for multiple voice assistants and can listen to different trigger words to engage assistants from Google, Amazon and the likes. Additionally, it also supports Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 along with a suite of GPS systems including Glonass and NavIC, to name a few.

Exclusive: Vivo V21 will be one of the slimmest 5G phones in the world and will feature AG glass finish

The Vivo V21 series is close to being launched in India. Reports have previously suggested the line-up will be launched towards the end of this month, and a separate leak by tipster Abhishek Yadav even claims that Vivo is looking at launching two phones as part of the series -- Vivo V21 4G and Vivo V21 5G. 

Now ahead of the eventual launch of the two phones, we've received exclusive information about the design of the V21 5G. As per our source close to the company, the Vivo V21 5G will become one of the slimmest 5G phones around, as it will be just 7.29mm thick and weigh only 176 grams. Our source has also confirmed the phone will feature a "premium AG glass finish" to complete the design of the device. Apart from this, our source did not reveal anything else about the device. However, we're expecting more information about the V21 5G in the days leading up to the launch.

Vivo V21 series: What we know so far

The Vivo V21 5G has been leaked a few times ahead of the launch. Earlier, tipster Abhishek Yadav had shared promotional images of both phones, with the images showing the Vivo V21 devices flaunting triple camera set-ups. The set-up on both the devices is shown to be arranged in a square module and also flaunt a gradient design. 

Other than this, the leaked promotional material shows the phone sporting a volume rocker and power button on the right. As for the other design elements, the phone's also shown to flaunt a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera on the display along with two LED flashlights. The leaked promotional material also revealed that both the Vivo V21 and V21 5G will come with OIS and spotlight support.

The Vivo V21 series has also been teased by the Malaysian arm of the company. In the country, Vivo has already listed the V21 5G. According to the information revealed by Vivo Malaysia, the phone will come in two colours. The phone has also been confirmed to bring a 44MP front-facing camera with OIS and a 64MP lens at the back. Under the hood, there will be 8GB RAM which will be supplemented by 3GB virtual RAM.
