OnePlus 9R gets major software update: Here are all the new features
It has only been a few weeks since the launch of the OnePlus series of phones. The series brought with itself three new phones, with one of them the OnePlus 9R. The most affordable phone in the OnePlus 9 series, the 9R is now available for purchase at a starting price of Rs 39,999.
As the phone makes way to more and more users, the company has now announced a new update to the device to improve its performance. The update is based on Android 11 and is the first one for the phone that focuses on bringing bug fixes and optimizations. OnePlus has also revealed details about the new OxygenOS 11.2.1.1 update.

OnePlus 9R: SpecificationsTo remind our readers, the OnePlus 9R features a 6.55-inch Full HD+ resolution AMOLED display with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The phone is being offered in two colours: Lake Blue and Carbon Black. The OnePlus 9R is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor which was announced earlier this year as a follow-up to the Snapdragon 865 series of chipsets.
This is paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage options to choose from. The OnePlus 9R has quad cameras on the back headlined by a 48MP primary camera that uses Sony IMX586 sensor with OIS support, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 123-degree field-of-view, a 5MP macro camera and a 2MP monochrome camera. There’s a 16MP selfie camera on the front, housed within the notch cutout. The OnePlus 9R is equipped with a 4,500mAh battery that supports Warp Charge 65 fast charging out-of-the-box.

Samsung Galaxy M42 5G with Snapdragon 750G launching on April 28 in India
Samsung Galaxy M42 5G is now confirmed to launch on April 28 in India and is slated to be the company’s first mid-range 5G smartphone. The company has also confirmed that the Galaxy M42 will go on sale on Amazon India after its launch. Samsung has also gone live with a microsite for the Galaxy M42 5G teasing its key features ahead of the launch in India.
The Samsung Galaxy M42 5G is confirmed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor and features Knox Security and is Samsung Pay enabled. Additionally, the Galaxy M42 5G will be offered in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants to choose from. While the price of the Galaxy M42 will be revealed on April 28, an IANS report hinted that it could be priced between Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000 when it launches in India.
Samsung has also revealed the design of the Galaxy M42 and the phone seems to be equipped with a quad-camera setup on the back along with a waterdrop notch cutout for the selfie camera upfront. Here’s everything we know about the Samsung Galaxy M42.
Samsung Galaxy M42 expected specificationsAs per leaks, the Samsung Galaxy M42 could feature a 6.6-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) resolution Super AMOLED display. There is a waterdrop notch cutout for the selfie camera upfront. The phone has an 8.6 millimetres thickness and weighs 193 grams.
Samsung has already confirmed that the Galaxy M42 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor that has an octa-core CPU and Adreno 619 GPU. This is paired with 6GB/8GB RAM and up to 128GB storage options to choose from. It will likely run on Android 11 based One UI 3.1 out-of-the-box.
The Galaxy M42 is rumoured to have a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 123-degree field-of-view, a 5MP macro camera and a 5MP depth sensor. On the front, there’s expected to be a 20MP selfie camera housed within the notch cutout.
The Samsung Galaxy M42 5G could be equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 5,000mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging. More details about the phone including its pricing will be revealed on April 28.

Realme 8 5G is set to launch on April 22 in India, a day after the global launch. The Realme 8 5G is a follow-up to the 4G variant that was officially launched in India back in March alongside the Realme 8 Pro. Realme has been teasing the key specifications of the Realme 8 5G in the heads up to the launch and the phone will go on sale on Flipkart shortly afterwards.

Additionally, he confirmed that the phone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G processor which was announced earlier this week in India.
On Flipkart, the microsite has listed some key specifications of the Realme 8 5G confirming a 90Hz Full HD+ display, up to 128GB storage with support for up to 1TB microSD card and Android 11 based Realme UI 2.0. There are also speculations that the Realme 8 5G could be based on the Realme V13 5G that was launched in March in China. This looks highly likely given the teased specifications are in line with the Realme V13.
Realme V13 5G specificationsThe Realme V13 5G features a 6.5-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution display that supports a 90Hz refresh rate. It has a punch-hole cutout on the top-left corner and the phone measures 8.5 millimetres in thickness and weighs 185 grams.
Moreover, the V13 is also powered by the Dimensity 700 processor with an octa-core CPU and Mali-G57 GPU. This is paired with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage options to choose from. It will likely run on Android 11 based Realme UI 2.0 out-of-the-box.
The Realme V13 has triple cameras on the back that consists of a primary 48MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture, 2MP macro camera and 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera housed within the notch cutout.
The Realme V13 is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging out of the box.

Garena Free Fire’s OB27 patch is now live. The theme for the new patch is boxing and is called K.O. Night. The update will include a full in-game reskin, a special interface and multiple activities and rewards. The story behind K.O. Night follows two survivors, Laura and Rafael, a pair of ex-lovers who split up after discovering they belonged to two opposing factions. They then have to face each other for K.O. Night, a premier fighting tournament. As always, the male and female boxer bundles worn by Laura and Rafael are available to players.
Garena Free Fire OB27 patch: ActivitiesAs mentioned before, there will be a full in-game reskin as well as a special interface available to players. There will also be daily missions, peak-day activities, login and friend call-back bonuses. Players can also collect belts, which can then be exchanged for exclusive K.O. Night-themed rewards.
Garena Free Fire OB27 patch: What’s NewThe OB27 patch will introduce two new characters in the game. This includes Xyane and Maro. Xyane is an extreme sports aficionado and her special ability is called Xtreme Encounter. This temporarily gives the player an additional 80HP and increases her damage to Gloo Walls and shields. The boost lasts for 10 seconds.
Maro is a falconer who does damage at range. The character comes with an ability called Falcon Fervor that increases damage done at range. Further, as the distance increases, the damage inflicted increases as well.
There is also a new weapon called the Kord. This is a new LMG added to the game. The weapon offers a base damage of 35 and a magazine size of 80. It also supports the new Machine Gun Mode, which has been added to all LMGs. You can learn more about that in the next section.
Garena Free Fire OB27 patch: Gameplay changesAs mentioned earlier, Garena has added a new Machine Gun Mode. This mode is activated when the player crouches down when using the weapon. When it’s on, LMGs get certain buffs to their attributes. The M60 and Kord get a boost to their fire rate, while the M249 get a damage increase.
