BattleGrounds Mobile India announced, is the replacement for PUBG Mobile in India

Krafton Inc, the developers of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, aka PUBG has announced that PUBG Mobile India is no more. The game will now launch in the country as Battlegrounds Mobile India. The developers have already rebranded their official YouTube and Facebook pages and should update the official Twitter Page soon. The previous website of pubgmobile.in seems to have been taken offline as well, while battlegroundsmobileindia.com is now live.

Interestingly, the developers seem to have purged all previous content from YouTube and Facebook, suggesting that this will be a completely fresh start from the game in India. The page only features one video right now, which shows the new logo.

Battlegrounds Mobile India: What to expect

The press release shared by Krafton Inc gives some insight into what players can expect but doesn’t delve into too much detail. The company notes that Battlegrounds Mobile India will “release with exclusive in-game events like outfits and features and will have its own esports ecosystem with tournaments and leagues. The game will launch as a free-to-play experience on mobile devices.” This seems to suggest that the game will be its own entity that will be separate from the global version of PUBG Mobile. The company does mention that the game will be exclusive to the Indian market.

Battlegrounds Mobile India: Launch date

Krafton hasn’t yet unveiled the launch date for the game. However, the company notes that the game will have a period of pre-registration before launch. The developers note that they will collaborate with partners to “build an esports ecosystem while bringing in-game content regularly, starting with a series of India specific in-game events at launch, to be announced later”

Battlegrounds Mobile India: Privacy and security

Krafton Inc notes that privacy and security will be a top priority when it comes to Battlegrounds Mobile India. The developers note that they will be working with partners to ensure data protection and security at each stage. “This will ensure privacy rights are respected, and all data collection and storage will be in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in India and for players here.”

As mentioned before, we still don’t have an official launch date for the game yet. But gamers would hope that this paves the way for a launch announcement that comes sooner rather than later.

Call of Duty: Mobile crosses 500 million download mark

Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Mobile has managed to cross the 500 million downloads mark. The game was launched back in October 2019 and since then it has gained its own dedicated fanbase among the greater Call of Duty community.

In order to mark the occasion and thank the players, Activision has announced that all players will receive 10 Radio Current Crates. These crates can then be opened to receive random Items from that set. In the case of the Radio Current Crate, this includes two characters, namely the Special Ops 1-Radio Current and Outrider-Radio Current. The crate will also offer Radio Current themed AK-47 assault rifle, Locus sniper rifle, Wingsuit, Parachute and Backpack. There are also Traffic Cone themed items up for grabs.

Thank you to our community, players, and supporters! We couldn't have done this without you! Be sure to check your #CODMobile in-game inboxes for a gift! pic.twitter.com/RexG8WSPM3

— Call of Duty: Mobile (@PlayCODMobile) May 4, 2021 How to collect the Radio Current Crates in Call of Duty: Mobile

All players should have received a main in their in-game inbox. This mail will have the subject ‘500 Million Downloads Celebration’. Simply open the main and redeem the crates.

Like all crates, the Radio Current crates will be available in the in-game Inventory. Players will have to head over to their ‘Loadout’ and select ‘Inventory’. The Radio Current crates will be there Players can then choose to unbox these crates one at a time, or unbox them all together.

The 500 million download mark comes just a few weeks before the Season 4 update to Call of Duty: Mobile. The developers haven’t confirmed anything yet, but leaks suggest that we might get to see the addition of the Akimbo perk to the Chopper LMG. This will allow players to dual-wield the weapon. Exactly how balanced the weapon is, remains to be seen. Speaking of weapon balancing, the developers have confirmed that they will be bringing some major weapon rebalancing soon.
