Tom Clancys The Division is coming to mobile phones

Ubisoft has announced some major plans to expand the universe of it’s Tom Clancy’s The Division franchine. Among the many things the publishers announced, it noted that there would be a mobile version of the game launching sometime in the future. However, that’s all Ubisoft revealed about the game. It noted that it will provide additional details about the mobile game at a later date.

Tom Clancy’s The Division: Gameplay

While nothing has been confirmed yet, one can speculate that the gameplay of the mobile version will not deviate too far from the one we see on PC and consoles. Just like what we saw with PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty: Mobile.

The Division is a third-person action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world that has been ravaged by a virus. For those wondering if this is a bit ‘on the nose’, do note that the first game was released back in 2016. The player is given access to the various weapons and can collect XP and currency. Currency is used to improve weapons, while XP can be used to upgrade your character and add skills. The game offers story-based and pvp combat.

Tom Clancy’s The Division: Other updates

Besides the new mobile game, Ubisoft also announced a new free-to-play game set in The Division universe. The new game is called Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland and it will be developed by Red Storm Studio. The studio has decades of experience in developer Tom Clancy titles like Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, Rogue Spear, and more. The Division Heartland is scheduled to release in 2021-2022 on PC, consoles, and the cloud. Ubisoft is also inviting gamers to participate in early test phases. Those interested can sign up here.

The developers also plan on expanding the game’s universe beyond video games. This includes a novel and a Netflix film.

Garena Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore rescheduled due to global COVID situation

Garena has announced that it is rescheduling its upcoming Free Fire World Series tournament (FFWS 20201 SG). The tournament is now scheduled to begin from May 30, 6:30pm IST. The company notes that this move was made keeping in mind the COVID-19 situation around the globe and the health and safety of everyone involved. To recall, the Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore was supposed to kick off on May 22.

Garena Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore: Participating teams

Due to restrictions put in place by the Singapore government, teams from India, Bangladesh and Pakistan will not be able to travel to Singapore to compete. As such, the tournament will see 18 teams from 11 regions compete for the $2,000,000 prize pool. The Play-Ins will see nine teams compete for three spots in the finals.

Even though teams from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh were unable to partake in the tournament, Garena notes that their efforts and achievement in qualifying for the World Series will still be recognised. As such, these teams will be awarded with a share of the prize pool.

Garena plans two further international tournaments this year. In July, the company plans to host Free Fire All-Stars. This event aims to bring together top influencers and professional players from around the world. It will then pit them against each other to see who is the best. Then in November, the company plans to hold the second edition of the Free Fire World Series. Hopefully, the situation in India and the world will have improved enough to host the event without any issues. It is not yet known if the rescheduling of the Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore will affect the dates of these tournaments.

IBM unveils the worlds first 2nm chip

IBM has developed the world’s first chip with 2nm nanosheet technology. The company claims that when compared with the 7nm node, the 2nm chip technology is projected to improve performance by 45%, while lowering energy use by 75%. IBM notes in its press release that using the 2nm node, up to 50 billion transistors can fit on a chip the size of a fingernail. It added that increasing the number of transistors per chip allows for smaller chips that are faster, more reliable and more efficient.

"The IBM innovation reflected in this new 2 nm chip is essential to the entire semiconductor and IT industry," stated DarĂo Gil, SVP and Director of IBM Research in a press release. "It is the product of IBM's approach of taking on hard tech challenges and a demonstration of how breakthroughs can result from sustained investments and a collaborative R&D ecosystem approach."

Benefits of IBM’s 2nm chip

According to IBM, the 2nm chip offers a whole host of potential benefits. This includes the possibility of quadrupling mobile phone battery life, which in turn should allow users to charge their phone only once every four days. IBM also notes that it could cut down the carbon footprint of data centers as 2nm chips would significantly reduce energy usage.

Laptop users could see faster performance across the board. This could range from faster application processing, to faster internet access. IBM also notes that the new chips could contribute to faster object detection and reaction time in autonomous vehicles like self-driving cars.

Of course, achieving mass production of 2nm chips will still take some time. However, at least now we have an idea of what the future holds for us in terms of technology. And it looks quite tantalizing indeed.

Renetti pistol added to Call of Duty: Mobile, Heres how to get it

Call of Duty: Mobile players can now get their hands on a brand new weapon. The Renetti pistol is now available in the game and players will have to earn it by completing a new seasonal challenge. The pistol offers a high fire rate thanks to its burst-fire ability, which is similar to previous weapons like the M16, Chicom, and the Pharaoh.

In a post on Reddit, the devs describe the Renetti as having a “fast fire rate with high recoil, but that recoil is easily managed with controlled bursts and careful aiming.” They suggest that the weapon is best paired with weapons that have long reload times, slow rates of fire, or low ammo. As such, the weapon will be better suited to players who main sniper rifles or shotguns. The in-game description also notes that it has the largest magazine size of any other pistol in the game.

How to get the Renetti in Call of Duty: Mobile

As mentioned earlier, the Renetti can be acquired via a new seasonal challenge in Call of Duty: Mobile. This one is called Quick Hands and tasks players with completing certain challenges in order to progress up the ladder and earn the Renetti. Along the way, players will also unlock other rewards. These challenges range from simply playing games, to getting certain kills using pistols with a set attachment.

There are seven challenges that players need to complete to get the Renetti. These are the challenges in order and their respective rewards.
