Call of Duty: Mobile teases the addition of Rambo, Dome map to the game

Activision has teased the addition of a new character in Call of Duty: Mobile. This time around, it looks like this new character will be none other than John Rambo, from the legendary film franchise. While the developers have not explicitly mentioned that in their tweet, they do leave behind many clues that suggest the same

The teaser image shared on Twitter by the official Call of Duty: Mobile account gives plenty of hints. The image shows a knife as well as a bandolier of bullets, which are connected to Rambo. Further, we also see a red headband which is synonymous with the character’s look. As if that wasn’t enough, the text that accompanies the tweet reads, “To survive a war…” This alludes to a scene in Rambo: First Blood Part II in which John Rambo tells Co Bao, “To survive a war, you gotta become war.”

Besides Rambo, the developers also teased the addition of a new map in the season 4 update. The teaser pretty much confirms that this will be the Dome map that was first seen in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The namesake ‘dome’ can be clearly seen in the teaser image. We still don’t know when the Season 4 update will roll out, but it should happen before the end of the month of May.

John Rambo coming to Call of Duty: Warzone as well

It looks like Call of Duty: Mobile isn’t the only place we’ll see Rambo. The official Call of Duty Twitter account has also posted a teaser that suggests the inclusion of the character in the Call of Duty: Warzone. The Warzone tweet hints at a character called SURVIVORJOHN, who has played and won five games, with 552 kills and no deaths. The Rambo franchise has five movies released and Rambo wasn‘t killed in any of them. 552 is also the number of kills attributed to Rambo in the entire franchise.

More 80’s action stars coming to Call of Duty: Mobile?

— Call of Duty (@CallofDuty) May 8, 2021

Interestingly, the official Call of Duty twitter page also posted a teaser for Nakatomi Duct Cleaning service with the tagline, “Say Yippie Ki Yay to Dust”. This is an obvious nod to the Die Hard Franchise and suggests the inclusion of the character of John Mcclane to Call of Duty: Warzone. Considering the fact that Rambo is already tipped to launch on Call of Duty: Mobile, one can speculate to that John Mcclane might make his way to the mobile space as well.

The only question now is, should we expect more 80’s action stars to make their way to the Call of Duty franchise?

Realme India Support Twitter account hacked briefly to run bitcoin scam

Realme India Support’s Twitter handle was allegedly hacked briefly to run a bitcoin scam, putting a spotlight on the security measures taken by Twitter to handle such attacks. This is not the first time a Twitter handle has faced such an ordeal as many high-profile Twitter accounts faced a similar situation in 2020.

As per screenshots shared by popular tipster Ishan Agarwal, the official Twitter handle of Realme India Support was taken over in the wee hours of May 7 after which it was defaced with a Tesla profile picture and its name being changed to “Tesla”. The account was recovered within the next few hours.

— Ishan Agarwal (@ishanagarwal24) May 6, 2021

In between the attack on the Realme India Twitter profile and its recovery, the hackers posted links to a website where they claimed to offer free Bitcoins. The hackers also replied to tweets by Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and shared links for users to win bitcoins during a broadcast.

In a statement issued to the media, Realme said, “We have been constantly monitoring the development of Realme India Twitter support account. We are also investigating the matter internally and will apprise you once we receive more information.”

While there are no reports of people falling prey to this bitcoin scan, partly because the attackers did not post a BTC wallet address and instead asked users to visit a website, it does raise glaring concerns over Twitter’s security measures in place.

Since recovering its account, Realme has deleted all such tweets made by the attackers and is functioning normally. We will update this report once we hear more from Realme.

Tom Clancys The Division is coming to mobile phones

Ubisoft has announced some major plans to expand the universe of it’s Tom Clancy’s The Division franchine. Among the many things the publishers announced, it noted that there would be a mobile version of the game launching sometime in the future. However, that’s all Ubisoft revealed about the game. It noted that it will provide additional details about the mobile game at a later date.

Tom Clancy’s The Division: Gameplay

While nothing has been confirmed yet, one can speculate that the gameplay of the mobile version will not deviate too far from the one we see on PC and consoles. Just like what we saw with PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty: Mobile.

The Division is a third-person action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world that has been ravaged by a virus. For those wondering if this is a bit ‘on the nose’, do note that the first game was released back in 2016. The player is given access to the various weapons and can collect XP and currency. Currency is used to improve weapons, while XP can be used to upgrade your character and add skills. The game offers story-based and pvp combat.

Tom Clancy’s The Division: Other updates

Besides the new mobile game, Ubisoft also announced a new free-to-play game set in The Division universe. The new game is called Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland and it will be developed by Red Storm Studio. The studio has decades of experience in developer Tom Clancy titles like Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, Rogue Spear, and more. The Division Heartland is scheduled to release in 2021-2022 on PC, consoles, and the cloud. Ubisoft is also inviting gamers to participate in early test phases. Those interested can sign up here.

The developers also plan on expanding the game’s universe beyond video games. This includes a novel and a Netflix film.

IBM unveils the worlds first 2nm chip

IBM has developed the world’s first chip with 2nm nanosheet technology. The company claims that when compared with the 7nm node, the 2nm chip technology is projected to improve performance by 45%, while lowering energy use by 75%. IBM notes in its press release that using the 2nm node, up to 50 billion transistors can fit on a chip the size of a fingernail. It added that increasing the number of transistors per chip allows for smaller chips that are faster, more reliable and more efficient.

"The IBM innovation reflected in this new 2 nm chip is essential to the entire semiconductor and IT industry," stated DarĂo Gil, SVP and Director of IBM Research in a press release. "It is the product of IBM's approach of taking on hard tech challenges and a demonstration of how breakthroughs can result from sustained investments and a collaborative R&D ecosystem approach."

Benefits of IBM’s 2nm chip

According to IBM, the 2nm chip offers a whole host of potential benefits. This includes the possibility of quadrupling mobile phone battery life, which in turn should allow users to charge their phone only once every four days. IBM also notes that it could cut down the carbon footprint of data centers as 2nm chips would significantly reduce energy usage.

Laptop users could see faster performance across the board. This could range from faster application processing, to faster internet access. IBM also notes that the new chips could contribute to faster object detection and reaction time in autonomous vehicles like self-driving cars.

Of course, achieving mass production of 2nm chips will still take some time. However, at least now we have an idea of what the future holds for us in terms of technology. And it looks quite tantalizing indeed.

Call of Duty: Mobile players can now get their hands on a brand new weapon. The Renetti pistol is now available in the game and players will have to earn it by completing a new seasonal challenge.
