Call of Duty: Mobile adds Spotter class to Battle Royale mode - Heres how to unlock it

Call of Duty: Mobile has added a new Class to the game’s Battle Royale mode. The new BR Class is called Spotter and is available to all players. However, it will have to be earned by completing the Target Locked Featured Challenge. As with all other classes, the Spotter class offers an active and a passive ability.

Call of Duty: Mobile - Spotter Class details

The Spotter class in BR mode’s passive ability is designed to deter airborne attacks while its active ability can devastate enemy groups. The active ability is called Cluster Strike and lets the player use a laser designator to mark an area. The area will then be pumped via a series of airstrikes, similar to the Cluster Strike scorestreak in Multiplayer mode.

The class’ passive ability is called Fly Swatter and it shows the player any nearby enemies using the wingsuit. This means that the Spotter will be warned of any enemies trying to drop in on them from above. It will also mark any revived players dropping in near them, giving them a chance to take those players out before they can regroup. Another benefit of the ability is that it increases the reload speed of rocket launchers.

While the abilities of the Spotter may not benefit attacking players, like the Clown or Smoke Bomber class, it makes for an excellent option for a support player in a team. Especially against teams that make liberal use of the Airborne class.

Call of Duty: Mobile - How to earn the Spotter class

As mentioned above, the Spotter class can be earned by completing the Target Locked Featured Challenge. As with other Featured Challenges, players will need to complete a mission, which will reward players with points. These points will progressively earn the player rewards, culminating in the main reward, which in this case is the Spotter class.

Call of Duty: Mobile to get Rambo and Die Hards John MacClain next week

Activision has confirmed that it will be adding 80s action heroes to its current lineup of Call of Duty titles. This includes Call of Duty: Mobile, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and Call of Duty: Warzone. While the developers haven’t openly confirmed anything yet, the teasers posted earlier have pretty much confirmed that Rambo and Die Hard’s John McClane will be making their way to the games.

The event will be called ‘80s Action Heros’ and is scheduled to start fro May 20. However, no additional details are known as of now. For example, we do not know if the new characters will be available via a bundle, or for free via a challenge. We also do not know if we will see other inclusions from their respective franchises. This includes secondary characters, antagonists or even multiple versions of the protagonists.

For now, players can look forward to the addition next week. It should also serve as a dash of nostalgia for those who grew up in the 80s or 90s. Rambo and Die Hard are considered to be one of the biggest and most popular action franchises in movie history.

Of course, it should be noted that the ‘80s Action Heroes’ event will be separate from the Season 4 update the developers plan to launch in the next few weeks. Besides the brand new Dome map, the new update will also include weapon rebalancing across the board. The developers note that the idea behind the upcoming weapon rebalance is not to nerf weapons. Rather, it is to ensure weapon types fulfill their specialty roles. You can learn more about that here.

Battlegrounds Mobile India will be up for pre-registrations from May 18 on the Google Play Store in India. The much-awaited spiritual successor to PUBG Mobile India was announced earlier this month and Krafton Inc has been teasing the launch ever since. PUBG Mobile was banned in India in 2020 with the government of India citing privacy and security concerns. There is no word on the exact launch date of Battlegrounds Mobile India yet.

Battlegrounds Mobile India will go for pre-registrations first for Android as revealed previously. There is still no word when iOS users will be able to pre-register for the game. For Android users, the game will be available to pre-register on May 18 on the Google Play Store. Additionally, those who pre-register for the game will be eligible to receive exclusive rewards that they can claim when the game launches in India.

As it is an India-centric game, it will not be available globally and the rewards will also be specific to the Indian players. Recently, Battlegrounds Mobile India teased the Sanhok map for fans of the original PUBG Mobile and it is expected that it will be playable at launch.

How to register for Battlegrounds Mobile India?

The pre-registration for Battlegrounds Mobile India begins on May 18 in India. To pre-register for the game, users will have to visit the Google Play Store. Once in the Play Store, you will see a banner to pre-register for the game or you can simply search ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India” in the search bar to go to the game’s listing.

Once you see the listing, click on the “Pre-register” button and everyone who pre-registers will be able to claim an exclusive reward that will be automatically available when the game officially launches in India.

While announcing Battlegrounds Mobile India, Krafton revealed that the game will have exclusive in-game events like outfits and other such features. The developers also revealed that the game will power its own esports ecosystem in India with tournament and league matches with big prize pools. They will also collaborate with partners to boost the esports scene in India and will bring exclusive in-game content that will be India-centric.

Krafton Inc has not revealed the exact launch date of Battlegrounds Mobile India yet but it is rumoured to launch in June.
