OnePlus U1S Series 4K LED TVs might be unveiled at Summer Launch Event

OnePlus will reportedly launch U1S series 4K Smart LED TVs and an external 1080p camera in India soon. As per reports, the TVs will be available in 50-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch screen sizes and are likely to go official alongside the OnePlus Nord2 at the upcoming “Summer Launch Event” 

The teaser page for the event is already live on Amazon India, where OnePlus already retails the 55-inch U1 TV (review) for Rs 52,999. 

OnePlus U1S LED TV series: Specifications and Features 

The leak was first spotted by tipster Ishan Agarwal for PriceBaba and a few more details were then added by Mysmartprice. According to these reports, all of the U1S series 4K TVs will support HDR 10+, HLG, and MEMC up to 60Hz. OnePlus is reportedly using  DLED (direct LED) panels that go up to 300 nits bright and cover 93% DCI-P3 colour gamut. Colour accuracy is allegedly quite high with a delta error of less than two. 

These TVs will be driven by a MediaTek chipset paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The software is based on Android 10 with OxygenOS TV customizations on top. These include a Blue Light mode and a live TV section that was also present on the recently launched OnePlus TV 40 Y1. These TVs will reportedly have 30W speakers with Dolby Audio. The speakers will be co-tuned by Dynaudio, a renowned audiophile brand that was recently associated with Oppo for Enco X TWS (review) earphones. 

The plug-and-play external webcam is said to be bundled with the 65-inch model. It will have a built-in microphone for Duo calls and shall connect to the TV via a USB-C port. Oneplus will also add a physical shutter for privacy-conscious consumers. 

OnePlus U1S LED TV series: Expected India Price

With the U1S range, OnePlus will expectedly compete with Redmi Smart TVs in India. Nothing is official yet, but the TVs are expected to be priced between Rs 35,000 and Rs 60,000 depending on the model.

Battlegrounds Mobile India may launch between June 13-19, Abhijeet Ghatak Andhare reveals

Battlegrounds Mobile India may officially launch in the third week of June, according to popular esports athlete Abhijeet ‘Ghatak’ Andhare. Krafton Inc announced the new avatar of PUBG Mobile India as Battlegrounds Mobile India, earlier this month. The pre-registration for the game went live on May 18 on the Google Play Store, but there is no word on the official launch date yet.

According to Abhijeet, the battle royale game will launch in the “third week of June” which puts it roughly between June 13 and 19. The company has been teasing the launch of the Battlegrounds Mobile India for a while now and it is also offering four pre-registration rewards for players who pre-register for the game on the Play Store. These include the Recon Mask, Recon outfit, Celebration Expert Title, and 300 AG.

As per previous rumours, Battlegrounds Mobile India could launch on June 10 or June 18 but there is no official word yet. Recently, Former Union Minister and current Arunachal Pradesh MLA, Ninong Ering, wrote to Prime Minister Modi asking for a ban on the upcoming mobile game in India. The minister’s letter states that it is “the relaunch of PUBG Mobile” and cites several reasons to call for a ban on Battlegrounds Mobile India. 

That being said, Krafton should not face any issues in launching the game as long as they are in line with the regulations in India. The hype surrounding Battlegrounds Mobile India is huge right now as players now have a glimmer of hope that they will be able to play a version of PUBG Mobile after it was banned by the government in 2020.

Battlegrounds Mobile India has also released a teaser video featuring actor Arshad Warsi and three popular players, Aaditya ‘Dynamo’ Sawant, Jonathan Amaral, and Chetan ‘Kronten’ Chandgude.

While announcing Battlegrounds Mobile India, Krafton revealed that the game will have exclusive in-game events like outfits and other such features. The developers also revealed that the game will power its own esports ecosystem in India with tournament and league matches with big prize pools. They will also collaborate with partners to boost the esports scene in India and will bring exclusive in-game content that will be India-centric.

Netgear Orbi RBK852 Wi-Fi 6 Mesh router system launched in India: Price and details

Netgear has launched Wi-Fi 6 enabled Tri-band Orbi RBK852 mesh router system in India. This is a slightly more affordable option as compared to Orbi RBK853 that was introduced in December last year. That’s because the number of satellite nodes has been reduced from two to one. 

Consequentially, the coverage area reduces from 7500 sq. ft. to 5000 sq. ft. However, since this is a mesh system, users have the option to separately add extra 'satellites' or nodes to cover dead zones should the need arise in the future. The Orbi RBK852 can be easily set up using the Orbi app available for both Android and iOS. It also integrates support for both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. 

Netgear Orbi RBK852 Wi-Fi system (AX6000): Price and Availability

Netgear Orbi RBK852 mesh Wi-Fi system comes with two units - RBR850 Wi-Fi 6 router and RBS850 satellite. It can be purchased from Netgear e-store and other partner e-commerce websites for a price of Rs 61,999. As an introductory offer, it comes bundled with a Netgear Armor anti-virus subscription. Add-on RBS850 satellites can be purchased for Rs 33,999 each. 

Netgear Orbi RBK852 Wi-Fi system (AX6000): Specifications 

Both the router and satellite measure 10x2.8x7.5-inches in dimensions and can together cover an area of 5000 sq. ft. The router is powered by a 2.2Ghz quad-core processor with 512MB NAND flash and 1GB RAM. 

As mentioned earlier, the Orbi RBK852 has a tri-band router with 2.4Ghz (2400Mbps+) and 5GHz (2400Mbps+) bands for internet connectivity and a 5GHz (1200Mbps+) dedicated WiFi link for faster data connections between Orbi Router and Orbi Satellite. 

There are eight antennas onboard and the router supports implicit & Explicit Beamforming for 2.4GHz & 5GHz bands, MU-MIMO capable for simultaneous data streaming to multiple devices. Users can stream multiple 8K and 4K resolution videos at up to 6Gbps. The Wi-Fi system supports up to 100 connected devices. 

The router includes a 2.5 Gbps WAN port and 4 LAN Gigabit Ethernet ports. The satellite has 4 LAN Gigabit Ethernet ports.

Uncharted 4 coming to PC as per Sony investor report

According to the Sony Investor report, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End could be the next PlayStation exclusive to hit the PC. The information is highlighted in the 26th slide of the presentation, which also highlights the targeting new geographies with PC releases of PlayStation franchises and India is on that list as well. This seems to suggest that Sony has found success in India by releasing PlayStation games on the PC. Sony has launched some of its past flagship games like Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone (review) and more on the PC already.

The investor report is very detailed and highlights a lot of information about Sony and the PlayStation platform. Below are some key insights from the report.

In the Financial Year 2020, PlayStation had an Operating Income of 342 billion Yen with net sales of 2,656 billion Yen. Sony has sold 7.8 million PS5 since its November 2020 launch (a number we already knew). Female proportion among console ownership has grown from 18% during the PS1 era to 41% during the PS4 and PS5. The PS5 has seen the best ever post console launch lineup of games. This includes launch titles like Spider-Man Miles Morales (review), Demon Souls, and Sackboy a Big Adventure as far as first-party games are concerned. To put things into perspective, the PS4 launched with Killzone Shadow Fall, Knack and Resogun. The PS5 Standard Edition is expected to break even starting June 2021. Despite global chip shortages, Sony is looking to double PS5 sales in 2021.  Slide 14 makes it look like Horizon: Forbidden West could be the last big AAA game to hit the PS4. Does this mean God of War Ragnarok will be a PS5 exclusive? In FY2020, the PS4 drove 95% of PS Store revenue. Sony has 47.6 million PlayStation Plus subscribers.  Sony is also looking at the mobile space as a growth opportunity for PlayStation games.
