Battlegrounds Mobile India launch tipped for June 18 yet again

Battlegrounds Mobile India might just launch on June 18 in India. Professional esports player Sagar ‘Maxtern’ Thakur has tipped that the battle royale game could release on June 18. Previously, popular esports athlete Abhijeet ‘Ghatak’ Andhare had hinted that the Battlegrounds Mobile India will launch in the third week of June. To recall, Krafton Inc announced the new avatar of PUBG Mobile India as Battlegrounds Mobile India, earlier this month. The pre-registration for the game went live on May 18 on the Google Play Store.

Sagar ‘Maxtern’ Thakur posted a cryptic tweet in binary. When converted to decimal it gives ‘18062021’, suggesting the date to be June 18. This is in line with previous rumours as well but we ask our readers to take it with a pinch of salt. There is no official word on the launch of Battlegrounds Mobile India just yet.

Battlegrounds Mobile India is being teased heavily in the heads up to its official launch and the pre-registrations are live on the Play Store. The game is offering four rewards for those who pre-register for the game. The rewards can be claimed once the game goes live in India. These rewards include the Recon Mask, Recon outfit, Celebration Expert Title, and 300 AG.

A post shared by BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (@battlegroundsmobilein_official)

Recently, Former Union Minister and current Arunachal Pradesh MLA, Ninong Ering, wrote to Prime Minister Modi asking for a ban on the upcoming mobile game in India. The minister’s letter states that it is “the relaunch of PUBG Mobile” and cites several reasons to call for a ban on Battlegrounds Mobile India.

Meanwhile, Battlegrounds Mobile India has also released a teaser video featuring actor Arshad Warsi and three popular players, Aaditya ‘Dynamo’ Sawant, Jonathan Amaral, and Chetan ‘Kronten’ Chandgude. The video asks players to get ready and pre-register for the game on the Play Store.

While announcing Battlegrounds Mobile India, Krafton revealed that the game will have exclusive in-game events like outfits and other such features. The developers also revealed that the game will power its own esports ecosystem in India with tournament and league matches with big prize pools. They will also collaborate with partners to boost the esports scene in India and will bring exclusive in-game content that will be India-centric.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE, Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite go official: Price and Specifications

Samsung has announced two new tablets - the Galaxy Tab S7 FE and Galaxy Tab A7 Lite - which are trimmed down versions of the Galaxy Tab S7+ and Galaxy Tab A7 from last year. The Tab S7 FE is 5G ready and has S Pen support. It aims to target productivity and entertainment needs. The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is an entry-grade option that comes in Wi-Fi-only and LTE versions.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE: Specifications

The Galaxy Tab S7 FE has a 12.4-inch LCD display with 2560x1600p resolution (16:9). The display supports a 60Hz refresh rate and S Pen input, and Samsung thankfully bundles the stylus in the box.

The tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 750G, and will retail in two configurations: 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. There is a MicroSD slot that’ll let users add another 1TB of secondary storage. The software is OneUI 3.1, which is based on Android 11. The Tab S7 FE supports Dex mode, which means users can pair it with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and go for a desktop-like experience.

The 8MP AF camera on the rear supports 4K video recording at 30fps. There’s another fixed-focus 5MP sensor on the front for video calling.

There is a 10090mAh battery housed within that supports 45W charging. However, only a 15W adaptor is bundled in the box. Further, the tablet has AKG tuned stereo speakers that support Dolby audio. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB-C port (3.2 gen 1). There’s no NFC or 3.5 mm audio jack, though.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite: Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite has a relatively small 8.7-inch LCD display with 1340x800p resolution. It’s powered by the entry-grade MediaTek Helio P22 chipset and will retail in 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB options - each with 1TB MicroSD card support.

The software is Android 11-based OneUI, but the Dex support is understandably missing. The 5100mAh battery within supports 15W charging, but for this one Samsung doesn’t bundle the fast charging adaptor in the box. The tab has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support (sans AKG branding) and also retains the 3.5mm audio jack.

As for cameras, the 8MP sensor on the rear can record 1080p videos at 30fps and there is a 2MP shooter on the front for video calling. The Tab A7 Lite is available in LTE and Wi-Fi only variants. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB-C port.

Price and Availability

The Galaxy Tab S7 FE and Galaxy Tab A7 Lite will be available for purchase in Europe and Russia starting from mid-June. Samsung TV Plus subscription with 160+ channels is bundled free with both tablets.

In Europe, the Galaxy Tab S7 FE 64GB will cost €650 (roughly Rs 57,000) and the 128GB variant will cost  €650 (roughly Rs 61,000).

The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite costs €170 (roughly Rs 15,000) for the Wi-Fi only variant and €200 (roughly Rs 17,600) for the Wi-Fi + LTE version.

OnePlus Nord CE 5G to launch during OnePlus Summer Launch Event on June 10

It is now confirmed. OnePlus Nord CE 5G is the name of the next phone in the popular OnePlus Nord series of devices. The new device is confirmed to launch on June 10 in India. OnePlus has revealed that it is hosting a Summer Launch Event where it was expected to unveil the successor to the OnePlus Nord. The company has also confirmed that it will be launching a second phone in the Nord range that is called the OnePlus Nord 200 5G. This will be released later this year. The announcement was made by OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau via a post on the OnePlus Forums. The ‘CE’ in the name stands for Core Edition, which suggests that the upcoming phone will be a refreshed version of the Nord.

"Like the name suggests, this is a product which really aims to deliver a fantastic essential experience. We distilled the original Nord down to its core elements, and added a couple of extra features to bring you a phone that's a little more than you’d expect, at an even more affordable price," Pete writes.

A lot of you have been asking about what's next for Nord devices. Well, here are some answers, and of course, there's a little something for everyone: https://t.co/KSFdzHIZJd pic.twitter.com/Sy0q1DehHv

A listing for the OnePlus Summer Launch Event has also gone live on Amazon India that teases the name OnePlus Nord CE 5G. Earlier this year, a report from Android Central suggested that the OnePlus Nord 2 is slated to be the first smartphone by the company to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor.

There is still much that we do not know about the OnePlus Nord CE 5G, but the company may share more details as we get close to the launch date. It remains unclear whether the Nord CE 5G will be a direct successor to the OnePlus Nord or whether the OnePlus Nord 2 is a separate smartphone that we may see later in the year.

However, we do know that the OnePlus Nord N200 5G is a successor to the OnePlus Nord N100 5G that launched in the US and Canada in the second half of 2020. More details will be revealed as we near the launch date of the new phones.

100W SuperCharge adaptor for Honor 50 Pro+ spotted online

Honor is expected to stage its grand global comeback with the Honor 50 series phones in the coming weeks. The series will reportedly include three phones, namely the Honor 50, Honor 50 Pro, and Honor 50 Pro+. Of the trio, the flagship Honor 50 Pro+ will reportedly support 100W fast charging. Now an image of its 100W charging adaptor has allegedly surfaced online.

The adaptor, as shown above, is not a USB-C to USB-C  Power Delivery charger. So it is possible that 'Honor SuperCharge' is likely a proprietary solution that splits the battery into two halves - just as many high wattage proprietary solutions do.

A reliable leakster from China claims that the 100W charger won’t have to be purchased separately, and will be bundled in the box. The other two lower models will instead get 66W fast charging.

100W chargers still aren’t as wide-spread in use, but they are slowly gaining ground. 120W charging has already debuted on phones like Mi 10 Ultra and iQOO 7 in China, but we are yet to see 100W+ charging phones in India.

The Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro will be powered by the recently launched Snapdragon 778G octa-core chipset, while the Honor 50 Pro+ is likely to get the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 888. The most interesting bit is that these will be the first set of Honor phones after US-imposed sanctions to debut with Google Apps pre-installed.

Huawei’s smartphone division took quite a hit after it was placed on Export Entity List by the U.S. government. To make up for the losses, the company sold its Honor sub-brand to a consortium of agents and deals. As an independent brand, Honor has managed to regain license for Google Mobile Services. It has also renewed its ties with other key U.S. companies like Qualcomm, Intel, Microsoft, and AMD.
