Data transfer service in Battlegrounds Mobile India to temporarily stop from July 6 onwards

Krafton Inc. has announced that it will be temporarily halting data transfer services in Battlegrounds Mobile India. The service is designed to help players transfer their old game data from PUBG Mobile and bring it over to the new game. Now, the developer states that these services will be temporarily put on hold after July 6 and it is not yet known what it will resume. So those players who want to transfer their old data to Battlegrounds Mobile India should do so before July 6.

To recall, Battlegrounds Mobile India came under scrutiny a few weeks ago when it was discovered that the game was transferring data to servers located in China. According to the report, the game was sending and receiving data from China Mobile Communications servers and Tencent servers located in China.

Krafton Inc. and since acknowledged that Battlegrounds Mobile India uses “third-party solutions to provide unique game features.” As such, some data was sent to third parties as part of using these solutions. It claims that the game’s privacy policy fully disclosed that the app may transfer some data. It further added that no data was shared in violation of the policy. It also noted that the data that is shared with third parties is only to enable certain game features. It says that it will “continue to monitor and protect any data being transferred to unexpected and restricted IP addresses prior to the official launch.”

Account transfer was a way for Battlegrounds Mobile India players to regain access to their old PUBG Mobile game data. This is especially important for those players who have spent a considerable amount of money on the game. This not only let players reuse any outfits or items they had unlocked, but also added any remaining UC that they might have had in their old accounts. Naughty Dog Working on a Standalone Multiplayer Game

It's been reported that Naughty Dog, studio behind franchises like Uncharted and The Last of Us, is hiring developers to work on their first standalone multiplayer game.

Job postings have been posted to the company’s careers page with the job descriptions detailing the new project as Naughty Dog’s latest adventure and that it shall be the studio’s first standalone multiplayer game. Additionally, the description stated that the company is looking for the same level of ambition and quality of their signature, story-driven games for this multiplayer project.

Naughty Dog

One role is slated for a level and environment designer for the multiplayer project specifically and the other role is a gameplay scripter for the same multiplayer project but on a temporary placement. A job listing posted back in March of this year, pointed towards a live service multiplayer game, and while the game hasn't been disclosed, there's the probability that it could be The Last of Us 2: Factions.

The Last of Us 2: Factions was actually meant to launch alongside the sequel but was terminated so that the team could focus fully on the single-player experience. Naughty Dog clarified earlier that fans would be able to experience the online multiplayer version, but only after the completion of The Last of Us 2. Alleged gameplay footage was leaked last year of what appeared to be The Last of Us 2: Factions which now seems to confirm that the project was at least in development during that time.

Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, stated in an interview this month that even multiplayer modes can have great stories. Which seems to back up the recent job postings. Earlier this year developers at Naughty Dog were promoted, with one of the developers having speciality in multiplayer experience.

Hitman Sniper: The Shadows, announced for AndroidIOS

During the E3 2021, Square Enix announced their new free to play Hitman adventure title to be soon available for Android and iOS. Just like the previous title of Hitman Sniper, Hitman Shadows delivers an environment based sniper gameplay.

Hitman Sniper: The Shadows – What’s New?

Hitman Sniper: The Shadows

As can be made out from the launch trailer, the game is set after the disappearance of Agent 47, and will instead allow players to choose from a team of 5 different characters, called ‘The Shadow’, to carry out assassination across the world. So, apparently for the first time in the franchise, players won't be playing as Agent 47 with the game instead featuring other new characters, with unique ability, playstyle and a nice little backstory to each as well.

Hitman Sniper: The Shadows

Other than that, the popularly known features from the Hitman sequels, like the ability to hide bodies and using the environment creatively to make your assassinations like an accident, are some of the features which will also be making their way into the game. With all these being offered it would certainly be something to look forward to!

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Along with the exciting announcements of Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Extraction, Ubisoft had no plans to be done anytime soon and blessed viewers with the looks of it’s long rumoured Avatar game alas, as the presentation was coming to an end.

Here’s what we could make out from the cinematic trailer of the first-person adventure being flaunted:

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

What we know so far Gameplay

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora would be a first-person adventure game set on the planet of Pandora, with it’s exotic wildlife and everything which clearly depicts that Avatar fans are in for some treats. The players get to play as a Na'vi (A race of sentient extraterrestrial humanoids who inhabit the lush jungle moon of Pandora aliens, from the Avatar movie), and as confirmed by Ubisoft confirmed that it will be offering tons of exploration and action as the player fences off the human military or the Resources Development Administration (RDA) who have touched down on Pandora.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

About the game

The game is apparently making use of an updated version of Ubisoft's Snowdrop Engine (the same game engine which powered games like The Division 2). Also, Ubisoft's Massive studio brings us Frontiers of Pandora as a first-person action-adventure game developed in collaboration with Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney, although Ubisoft clearly states that this is a new, standalone story that takes place in a new part of Pandora, so we don’t expect it to be much connected with the movie.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Release date

The game is currently still under development exclusively for new gen consoles namely the Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Stadia, and Amazon Luna along with PC. We expect the game to be set to release sometime around 2022, and probably offer a great experience to players!
