Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra features a 145 inch OLED display but youll have to wait until 2022 to buy one

Samsung will most likely push forward the launch of its Galaxy Tab S8 series of tablets to early 2022. Additionally, Samsung is planning to add a third tablet dubbed the “Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra” which could feature a big 14.5 inch OLED screen among other high-end specifications.

The news comes via a recent report claiming that Samsung has cancelled any tablet releases for this year. Additionally, Samsung also plans to launch a total of three new tablets early next year, the report alleges. The Korean giant already launches its high-end S series smartphones in three units and very soon the Galaxy tablet series will follow the same formula.

Earlier this year, Samsung also cancelled the launch of the Galaxy Note 21 mainly due to chip shortages and to focus on other products in its portfolio.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra Launch 2022

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra leaked specs, price The Tab S8 Ultra seems to be the most powerful tablet produced by Samsung. Right off the bat, it has a huge footprint thanks to its 14.5 inch OLED screen featuring a 120hz refresh rate. Powering such a giant screen is a 12,000 mAh battery and charging it would be the responsibility of a 45-watt fast charger.

Other rumoured specs of the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra reveal that it's 5.5 mm thick and 650 grams in terms of weight. It’ll have three variants in terms of connectivity - Wi-Fi, LTE, and 5G - speculatively priced at $1,319, $1,408 and $1,498 respectively. In terms of specs as well, users will have two the option to buy the Tab S8 Ultra either with 8GB + 128 GB of storage or 12 GB + 512 GB of configuration. The premium keyboard for the Tab S8 Ultra tablet will be sold separately for a rumoured price of $287.

Powering the device could be the rumoured Snapdragon 895+ SoC based on the TSMC’s 4nm node, slated for a 2022 reveal.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 losing out to Apple iPad?

With high demand for computing hardware all around the world, a late tablet release could mean that Samsung could lose out to the Apple iPad in terms of sales. Last year’s Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ are great tablets but they get beaten by the Apple iPad mini in terms of Geekbench score. Meaning, even the base spec M1-powered iPad can easily leave the Tab S7 and S7+ in the dust.

Apple also released the iPad OS 15 this year featuring several UI changes and the ability to add extensions to Google Chrome. However, people still feel that the iPad remains heavily underutilised due to its software. Meanwhile, a similar update can be expected for the Samsung DEX, which is one of the most understated features of Galaxy tablets.

In Samsung’s case, a hardware launch delay can prove fruitful if it also features a comprehensive software update as well.

Apples 11-inch iPad Pro is reportedly getting Mini LED display next year

Apple is planning to add a Mini LED display to its 11-inch iPad Pro next year. This news comes from a research note by analyst Ming-chi Kuo, and it was reported by the folks over at AppleInsider. This would be a great addition to the 11-inch iPad Pro, and it will make it just as good as the 12.9-inch version, in terms of usability, if not better.

In case you don't know, Apple released two new versions of the 11-inch iPad Pro this year - an 11-inch and a 12.9-inch variant. Both models feature the company's new M1 chip but only the larger 12.9-inch variant comes with a Mini LED display. Mini Led display tech essentially involves using thousands of tiny LEDs to create focused local dimming zones. Advantages of having a Mini LED display include better contrast ratios and HDR performance among many other things.

According to Kuo's report, Apple is also planning to bring Mini LED screens to the MacBook line. The 14-inch and 16-inch Mini LED models are reportedly going into production this quarter. In fact, Kuo believes that even the redesigned MacBook Air with Mini LED display will be released next year.

As for the cheaper iPad models, it looks like they will switch to OLED panels, but we don't exactly when that is planned to happen. Mini LED technology, however, has been causing some issues with the supply. The new iPad Pro 12.9-inch model is still not readily available in stock, so it will be interesting to see how the situation changes by the time more of Apple's devices will have them.

That being said, we're super excited to see more products getting the Mini LED displays. Apple's MacBooks, for instance, already have pretty good displays and this technology will only make them better. It remains to be seen exactly how much it will add up to the overall cost of the product though. We'll definitely have more to talk about these new products soon as and when we acquire more info about them. So, stay tuned.

Data transfer service in Battlegrounds Mobile India will be temporarily suspended from tomorrow

Today is the last day for Battlegrounds Mobile India players to transfer their old PUBG Mobile data before the service is temporarily suspended. It should be noted that Krafton Inc has not confirmed when the service will be resumed. So it could take anywhere from a few days to months. The service was initially supposed to stop on July 6, but the developers had extended it to July 9.

Krafton Inc noted that this is being done for “maintenance” on the data transfer service. To recall, Battlegrounds Mobile India was under fire a few weeks ago when a report noted that the game was sending data to servers back in China. This included China Mobile Communication servers in Beijing and Tencent-run Proxima Beta servers in Hong Kong. Krafton Inc. has since acknowledged that Battlegrounds Mobile India uses “third-party solutions to provide unique game features.” As such, some data was sent to third parties as part of using these solutions. It claims that the game’s privacy policy fully disclosed that the app may transfer some data. It further added that no data was shared in violation of the policy. It also noted that the data that is shared with third parties is only to enable certain game features. It says that it will “continue to monitor and protect any data being transferred to unexpected and restricted IP addresses prior to the official launch.”

Account transfer is a way for Battlegrounds Mobile India players to regain access to their old PUBG Mobile game data. This is especially important for those players who have spent a considerable amount of money on the game. This not only let players reuse any outfits or items they had unlocked, but also added any remaining UC that they might have had in their old accounts.
