WhatsApp is bringing disappearing messages for iOS to the 2.21.140.9 beta update from Testflight. If you have the same version and yet cannot see or access the disappearing message feature, don’t panic. WhatsApp is rolling out this feature and you’ll get it in the next beta update.

The name of the new feature is officially called “view once.” The beta testers can send photos and videos on WhatsApp that will disappear when viewed once. Both, the sender and the recipient need to have this feature in order for it to work. Meanwhile, disappearing text messages will take 7 days to expire.

WhatsApp’s disappearing text feature is similar to Instagram’s. One key difference is that Instagram allows the user to replay photos and videos at the user’s behest. WhatsApp, on the other hand, will delete the media when viewed once, according to the official information.

Sony TVs will soon be made by robots to help reduce cost

According to the Financial Times (via flatpanelshd), Sony is looking at factory automation and robots to manufacture TVs. This is expected to reduce the cost of production of TVs by 70 percent and also help reduce the defects encountered during production. Due to the implementation of robotics at the main TV manufacturing facility in Malaysia, the cost of production is expected to reduce by 70% by the fiscal year 2023.

"I don’t think automation by itself using robots will bring enough benefits. The key is to use digitization to link sales and manufacturing," Kimio Maki told the Financial Times. So, it looks like in addition to automation of manufacturing along with online sales and digital services will help Sony reduce the cost of production of TVs.

According to flatpanelshd, “Sony's TV business ran at a loss for a decade but the company managed to turn it around by refocusing on premium TVs such as OLED. It is now turning its attention to production optimization”.

This isn’t the first time Sony will use robotics and automation to produce electronics. Sony's production facility located in Kisarazu City in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, produces a PS4 console every 30 seconds. There are only 4 human workers and the rest of the work is carried out by machines.

Sony recently launched its 2021 lineup of TVs in India. We have seen the launch of the Sony A80J OLED TV and X90J full array LED TV. Both the TVs run on the new Google TV UI and also come with Sony’s new Bravia Cognitive XR processor. Sony also launched the X80J in India.

OnePlus Nord 2 screen specs revealed, to feature 640-inch Fluid AMOLED 90Hz display

OnePlus Nord 2 screen specifications have been revealed in an official post. The post reveals the refresh rate, screen size and type of the upcoming OnePlus Nord 2 smartphone. OnePlus followed the same market strategy prior to the launch of the OnePlus 9 series, wherein they teased the wireless warp charging and the Hasselblad partnership for its cameras.

OnePlus Nord 2 Screen Specification leak

OnePlus Nord 2 screen Specs

The upcoming OnePlus Nord 2 will come with a 6.43-inch Fluid AMOLED display featuring a 90hz refresh rate and HDR 10+ certification. The Nord 2 will most likely be the first OnePlus smartphone to be powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 1200 chipset. This is expected to have a similar performance to the Snapdragon 865, a flagship SoC we saw launch in 2020.

OnePlus Nord 2 has almost the same AMOLED panel and 6.43-inch screen size compared to the first OnePlus Nord and the affordable Nord CE 5G launched recently. OnePlus will tease more information related to Nord 2 in the upcoming days until its official launch on 22 July 2021.

OnePlus Nord 2 Processor And Camera Specs

OnePlus Nord 2 processor is also a big highlight of its big highlight. The smartphone will feature a custom Mediatek SoC tailored to improve its gaming and photographic capabilities. The built-in will also have a feature called DOL-HDR, which captures several exposures simultaneously to minimise “ghosting.”

Another leak suggests that OnePlus Nord 2 will have a 50 MP and a Sony IMX 766 sensor. However, take it with a grain of salt because leaks have not proven to be reliable, at least in the case of the OnePlus Nord 2.

Every OnePlus smartphone prior to Nord 2 has made use of the Snapdragon processor. The shift to Dimensity processor will most likely redefine the way in which OnePlus smartphones target different markets. Rest assured, the fast and smooth gaming performance, for which we all know and love OnePlus, will always be its staple.

Apples upcoming MacBook Pro models may have an updated 1080p webcam: Report

It's no surprise that Apple is expected to launch a new set of MacBook Pro models later this year. There's already a lot of speculation surrounding the new MacBooks and they're expected to come with the new rumoured M1X chip among many other things. Now, according to a new report, it looks like Apple will be fitting a new and updated 1080p webcam on these new notebooks.

Apple's current-generation MacBooks, in case you don't know, only comes with a 720p webcam. It's honestly one of the few things that we'd love to see change when the new MacBooks come out. Well, Apple seems to be aware of the quality, which is why they're expected to feature a 1080p webcam.

I know a lot people are referencing Linus’s video (which is a great video by the way) but it’s good to note that the upcoming MacBook Pro will actually be getting an updated improved 1080p webcam for the next model and so will the entire Mac lineup.

— Dylan (@dylandkt) July 10, 2021

The new MacBooks won't be the first set of computing devices from Apple to have a 1080p camera since they've already introduced the same on the 24-inch iMac M1 that launched earlier this year. According to a new tip, it looks the same will extend to new MacBooks as well.

The MacBook Pro models are also expected to ship with the new M1X chip when they come out in September. In fact, the company is also expected to bring a 14-inch as well as a 16-inch variant, both of which will most likely have mini-LED displays. The new silicon is also expected to have support for up to 64GB RAM instead of just 16GB on the current M1 chip.

Additionally, we're also hearing rumours about the new MacBook Pro models having more ports including an HDMI as well as an SD card reader. It will be interesting to see if this happens and how it will end up changing the dimensions of the new notebooks.

It's obviously hard to confirm how reliable this information is, so we suggest you take this info with a pinch of salt. The new MacBook Pro models are said to be announced alongside the iPhone 13 later this year, so we'll see when that happens. Until then, stay tuned for more info.

We knew that Battlegrounds Mobile India was an anticipated title, and now we know exactly how eagerly PUBG Mobile fans were awaiting the game. Krafton has announced that Battlegrounds Mobile India has surpassed 34 million registered users within a week of its official release. It should be noted that this mark was only achieved via the Google Play Store since the game is not yet available on iOS. As such, the number will only rise even further when the game is made available on the Apple App store. Not only that, but the developers note that Battlegrounds Mobile India achieved a peak of 16 million daily active users and 2.4  million peak concurrent users.

Wooyol Lim, Head of Battlegrounds Mobile Division, at KRAFTON, Inc., expressed his appreciation saying “We would like to thank our users in India for their support. We are committed to bringing new and more entertaining content to Battlegrounds Mobile India to bring greater joy to our fans and players.” and added, “With Battlegrounds Mobile India as a start, KRAFTON hopes to grow and further develop together with India’s video gaming and esports industry”

To recall, Krafton officially released Battlegrounds Mobile India on July 2. Before that, the game was available in Early Access. In other words, the game was only accessible to a limited number of people. However, players did devise a way to side-load and play the game.

Battlegrounds Mobile India has also announced changes to its ranking system and Royal Pass as Season 19 draws to a close. From Season 20 onwards, three consecutive seasons will be grouped as 1 Cycle. The naming scheme has also undergone changes and will now be known as C1S1 (Cycle 1 Season 1), C1S2 (Cycle 1 Season 2), C1S3 (Cycle 1 Season 3), C2S1 (Cycle 2 Season 1), so on and so forth. You can learn more about that here.
