Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G design surfaces online key specs, colour options, price leaked

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is ready to make an appearance at the upcoming Unpacked 2021 event scheduled for August 11, 2021. However, its design renders have leaked online, revealing a ton of features about the Samsung flip phone.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G design renders come courtesy of Winfuture.de and they reveal an almost familiar design with a few key changes. Notably, the Galaxy Z Flip3 renders reveal a dual rear camera with a flash, a matte finish back panel in the dual-tone finish.

As per Galaxy Z Flip3 5G renders, the smartphone features a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display and a 1.9-inch secondary display placed adjacent to the rear camera modules. The Z Flip3 will most likely feature a dual-lens setup at the back featuring a 12 MP + 12 MP configuration and a 10MP punch-hole camera at the front.

Samsung is likely to equip the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G with a stronger hinge and an IPX8 rating, allowing it to remain 1 meter deep underwater for an extended period of time. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G will also have multiple colour options including - dark blue, grey, violet, pink, beige, white etc.

In terms of performance, Samsung will pack in the top-spec Snapdragon 888 SoC inside the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G along with 8GB RAM and offer two storage options - 128GB, 256GB. 

Samsung Z Fli3 5G could feature a 3,300mAh battery along with a 15W fast charging feature. Some reports also suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G can see a “20% reduction” compared to last year’s models meanwhile other’s pint towards a $1,000 price tag for the smartphone. 

In addition to Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, Samsung also plans to launch Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Buds 2, and the much-awaited Galaxy Watch 4 series.

Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 could be the industrys first curved-display Mini-LED gaming monitor

2021 has been the year of mini LED display technology from the very start and now Samsung is gearing up to launch the industry's first Mini LED curved gaming monitor, Odyssey Neo G9, that will succeed the Odyssey G9. Similar to Samsung's Neo QLED TVs, this premium gaming monitor will incorporate Samsung’s Quantum Matrix technology with support for 12-bit gradation for better contrast. 

Odyssey Neo G9 Specs and Features

The gaming monitor has a 49-inch screen with a 32:9 aspect ratio and 5,120×1,440 pixel resolution. The monitor supports a 240Hz refresh rate and has a 1ms response time. As is expected of any premium gaming monitor in 2021, the Neo G9 supports VRR via HDMI 2.1 port and is compatible with NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. It also provides Active Sync on Display Port 1.4.  Other gaming features include screen size optimizer, black equalizer, low input lag mode, and refresh rate optimizer.

Odyssey Neo G9 is based on the same backlight technology as Samsung’s latest Neo QLED TVs. The backlight comprises an array of mini LEDs and employs a Quantum Dot Enhancement Film (QDEF) to enhance the quality of light which then passes through the LCD substrate. The use of Mini LEDs helps with more dimming zones (2048 to be precise) and thus better contrast and better HDR performance. 

Samsung rates Odyssey Neo G9 for Quantum HDR 2000, where 2000 denotes the peak brightness in nits.

The monitor has a glossy white exterior and a rear ‘infinity-core’ lighting system that can be personalized with multiple colours and lighting effects. The stand has tilt and swivel and users also have the option to wall mount. Connectivity ports include two HDMI 2.1 ports, Display Port 1.4, headphone jack, and two USB ports.

Samsung’s Odyssey Neo G9 will be available in South Korea starting July 29 for a starting price of 2.4 million won ($2,085 or roughly Rs. 1,55,000). Globally, the Odyssey Neo G9 will be available by 9 August 2021.

Nokia XR20 is a tough phone meant to last for years: Price and details

HMD Global has launched a new tough smartphone, the Nokia XR20, that flaunts some appeasing durability credentials without giving up the semblance of being a normal phone. Apart from the XR20, HMD Global also presented Nokia C30, a budget Android Go phone, Nokia 6310 feature phone, and a few earphones. 

Exactly how tough are we talking? 

Well, the Nokia XR20 is MIL-STD 810H certified and enjoys 1.8m drop protection. The display is shielded by Gorilla Glass Victus, which Nokia says is twice as scratch-resistant as compared to the Gorilla Glass 6. The handset brandishes IP68 dust and water resistance, which implies that it can withstand submersion in fresh water for up to an hour. The phone is resilient enough to survive exposure to extreme temperatures ranging between -25°C and 55°C. 

This hardware durability is bolstered by the assurance of software longevity. XR20 ships with Android 11 out of the box and promises 3 years of version updates and 4 years of monthly security updates. Last but not the least, the phone ships with a 2-year warranty.

Nokia XR20 Price and Availability 

Nokia XR20 is up for pre-order in the US and UK in Ultra Blue and Granite colour options and will hit retail shelves by the end of August. In the UK, the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage option will cost £449 (roughly Rs. 39,402) and the 4GB RAM/ 64GB variant will be available for £399 (roughly Rs. 25,220). In the US, only the 6GB RAM/ 128GB variant will be available for $550 (roughly Rs. 40,915). There's no word on the India availability as of yet. 

Nokia XR20 Specifications and Features

Nokia XR20 is pretty manageable for an archetypal tough phone. It measures 10.64mm in thickness and weighs 248 grams - stats no longer as revolting as they would have perhaps been a couple of years ago. 

The 6.67-inch LCD display has a 20:9 aspect ratio and FHD resolution (1080 x 2400). The handset is powered by Qualcomm’s 8nm process-based Snapdragon 480 (two Cortex-A76 @ 2.0GHz + six Cortex-A55 @ 1.8GHz) paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. There’s also the option for adding secondary storage using the microSD card slot. 

As for the cameras, the primary sensor is a 48MP Samsung GM1 with an f/1.7 lens on top. The second sensor is a 13MP ultra-wide snapper, and the camera module has Zeiss branding. The 8MP front camera is housed within a centrally aligned punch-hole cutout. 

The XR20 houses a 4310mAh battery with 18W wired and 15W Qi wireless charging. 

The Nokia XR20 has stereo speakers, retains a 3.5mm audio jack, has a dedicated Google Assistant button, and clubs the fingerprint sensor with the side power key. Connectivity options include 5G, NFC, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.1, and WiFi 802.11.b/g/n/ac

Xiaomi has announced the RedmiBook launch date in India and heres everything we know

Xiaomi has put an end to all the speculation about the RedmiBook launch by announcing a release date. The company has confirmed that the RedmiBook laptop is scheduled to be unveiled on August 3. Redmi India posted a tweet earlier today confirming the launch. Here's check it out -

There's also an event scheduled on Xiaomi's website in India with August 3 as the date. There's also a timer counting down to the scheduled event with a little over 7 days left now. Looking at the teasers and promo materials on the website, it looks like this is going to be an entry-level laptop suited for students and working professionals.

Xiaomi hasn't mentioned anything about the laptop itself, so it remains to be exactly which variant of the RedmiBook we end up getting here in India. If we were to guess, then we will most likely be getting the RedmiBook 15. The company recently launched that particular notebook in Indonesia and it's the only RedmiBook that has launched outside China.

The RedmiBook 15, for those of you who don't know, sports a 15.6-inch FHD display and is powered by an 11th Gen Intel Core i3 processor along with 8GB RAM. The chassis is relatively thin and light weighing in at 1.8Kg and it measures 19.9mm in thickness. The laptop also comes with a webcam on top of the display as well.

Realme flash tipped to launch as first Android phone with magnetic wireless charging

Realme is reportedly working on a new phone which will be called the Realme Flash. The information comes courtesy of a new report by GSMArena, and also reveals key details about the phone. 

As per the report, this phone will be the first Android smartphone in the world to come with support for magnetic charging as it will come with Realme MagDart. Interestingly, this is also expected to launch alongside the new phone. 

The report explains that this will be similar to Apple’s MagSafe tech, as Realme MagDart will clip onto the back of the phone and charge the device. However, Realme’s MagDart is bigger in size than Apple's MagSafe and includes a fan to keep the thermals in check. The report also adds that the charging speeds will be more than 15W and that Realme's MagDart will be the fastest magnetic charger in the world once it launches. Apart from this, the charger will also bring with it a USB-C connector. 

As for the phone, there are few details available about the device, with the Realme Flash reportedly set to feature a curved screen with a punch-hole cutout in the top-left corner of the display.  This cutout will house the front-facing camera of the phone. Under the hood, the phone will reportedly come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The back of the phone will feature a triple-camera setup and is expected to come running Android 11-based Realme UI on top.
