Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 with under-display camera, Snapdragon 888+ launched

Xiaomi has officially launched the Mi Mix 4 in China with top of the line features and a ceramic design that makes seems to make it more functional than any other Mi Mix phone of the past. All Mi Mix series of phones have had a trick up their sleeve, be it the recent wraparound screen of the Mi Mix Alpha or the slider design of the Mi Mix 3. With the Mi Mix 4, Xiaomi has finally gotten around to the front-camera problem that plagued the initial models. The Mi Mix 4 features an under-display camera and you get all of the 6.67-inches of screen estate to play around with. Xiaomi calls it their CUP (Camera Under Panel) technology and claims it to be virtually invisible to the human eye.

The last and perhaps the only Mi Mix phone to officially launch in India was the Mi Mix 2 which was priced at Rs 35,999 at the time. Since then, none of the phones in this lineup have made it to India and we have no reason to believe that the Mi Mix 4 is going to launch in India anytime soon.

Having said that, Xiaomi India MD Manu Kumar Jain has tweeted out suggesting that the Mi Mix 4 could be showcased in India which is when Xiaomi brings a particular product to the country for fans to experience it at their Mi Home stores.

Instagram to bombard you with more ads, this time in the Shop Tab

So, you thought ads were annoying and intrusive? Well, get ready for more ads on Instagram as the company has confirmed that it will be adding ads on the Shop Tab. This initiative is part of a new test involving ads. The space is kind of limited as of yet with only major US companies such as Away, Fenty Beauty and Clare paint. More advertisers will certainly join in sometime in the future, we assume. The ads will be displayed as a single image or a carousel. Ads will only appear in the mobile version of the app.

Ads are a major source of revenue for both Facebook and Instagram and it’s understandable why these companies feel the need to plaster ads everywhere. But, as users, is it just going to be another data targeting thing where we all exclaim how strange and weird it is that an ad for a product pops up on your feed seconds after you talked about it? Instagram is no stranger to ads as the company launched an advertising service on its Reels feature.

If you’re tired of ads appearing everywhere and feeling like an invasive threat everywhere then you’re out of luck. There are no real numbers when it comes to how much companies actually benefit from this kind of mass bombardment advertising but even if they aren’t making money, their products are still seen by Instagram’s database. Welcome to the ad-filled future.
