Realme Band 2 unveiled in Malaysia, features 14-inch display, 12-day battery life and more

Realme has just unveiled a new wearable. Called the Realme Band 2, the device has been launched in Malaysia and it is not yet known if or when it will make its way to Indian shores. However, considering that the device’s predecessor was launched in the country, it should eventually make its way to Indian shores. 

Realme Band 2: Specifications

The wearable sports a 1.4-inch colour display, which is much larger than the 0.96-inch display on the first Realme Band. It offers a resolution of 167x320p and a maximum brightness of 500 nits. It also offers over 50 watch faces to choose from along with the option to swap straps as needed. 

At the back of the device is an optical heart rate tracker that is used for 24x7 heart rate monitoring. The wearable also offers users the option to monitor blood oxygen levels. In fact, Realme claims that the Band 2 is capable of tracking over 90 activities. These include yoga, outdoor walks, cycling, cricket, basketball and more. Further, the device is water-resistant to 50m, which means it should be able to survive dips in the pool with ease. 

The Realme Band 2 can also be used to track sleep. Realme also claims that users can expect a battery life of 12-days on a single charge. As with most other Realme wearables, the wearable can be used to control other Realme AIoT devices such as the recently launched Realme Buds Air 2.

Realme Band 2: Availability and price

The Realme Band 2 is priced at RM169, which is approximately Rs 2,900 when directly converted. As mentioned earlier, the company has not yet confirmed the device's availability in India yet, but it should arrive sooner rather than later. you can learn more about the device on Realme's official Malaysian page here.

Oppo F19s could launch soon as Bluetooth SIG certification surfaces

Oppo F19s launch seems imminent thanks to its recently surfaced Bluetooth SIG certification. In most cases, a smartphone launches soon after the Bluetooth SIG certification, however, no official information related to Oppo F19s launch is available as of yet. 

Oppo F19s Bluetooth Certification reveals its model number to be CPH2223 along with support for Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The upcoming handset will join the ranks of other Oppo F19 series smartphones including F19 Pro and F19 Pro+ 5G, both launched a few months back in April. 

Oppo F19s Launch: Key Specs And Price (Rumoured)

As per a leak, the Oppo F19s could have a price tag of Rs 18,000. Additional Oppo F19s specs will most likely launch with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC, 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. In terms of display specs, the Oppo F19s could include a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a high refresh rate. As for the OS, the Oppo F19s will most likely come pre-installed with ColorOS 11.1 based on the Android 11.

Lastly, in terms of optics, the Oppo F19 could feature a 48MP triple camera setup at the rear along with a single selfie camera. Powering the phone is a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 33W charging. 

Oppo F19s launch window seems to be near and hopeful we can expect an official announcement anytime soon.

Goodbye Mi branding, Xiaomis premium devices to be renamed under the Xiaomi brand

Xiaomi’s premium devices to be branded under ‘Xiaomi’ from now on

Xiaomi will rebrand its premium lineup from ‘Mi’ to ‘Xiaomi’, and will now have two discrete sub-brands: ‘Redmi’ and ‘Xiaomi’. The new branding will affect a range of devices, be it smartphones, TVs or laptops. The company says while its corporate sector will continue to be represented by the ‘Mi’ logo, forthcoming, a new Xiaomi logo will be used for its present-day Mi products, ranging from smartphones, TVs or IoT devices, etc.

Xiaomi phones or the so-called Mi phones are the premium segment of the brand. This includes the recently launched Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11X series, which were available in Indian markets. The company also stated that while its former ‘Mi’ brand is being rebranded to ‘Xiaomi’, it will continue to represent “The pinnacle of technology and offering premium experience across categories.”

The Redmi and Xiaomi naming convention will also be applied across both sub-brands Laptops, TVs and other IoT devices.

Xiaomi India’s Head of Marketing, Jaskaran Singh Kapany, stated- “Being a leading technology brand with a strong presence across the globe, our aim is to have a unified presence. With this new logo shift, we envision bridging the perception gap between our brand and products. The new Xiaomi logo will be used for our premium products that represent the pinnacle of technology and offer a premium experience. Ushering in the festive season, Xiaomi’s premium product series ‘Mi’ will be renamed to ‘Xiaomi’”.

Whilst the company’s ‘Redmi’ devices are the most popular smartphones across the country, Xiaomi is retiring the ‘Mi’ branding just more than a year after the brand made its comeback into the Indian markets. While the company was launching its range of Mi TVs and Mi bands in the Indian market, no ‘Mi’ branded flagship phones were introduced in the market, after the Mi Mix 2 in 2017, and before that, the Mi 5 in 2016. In 2020, Xiaomi renewed its premium ‘Mi’ phones to the market with the Mi 10 series. And later followed by the Mi 11 series in 2021, including the Mi 11 Ultra and 11X series, though it faced delays in going on sale. 

As per statistics, Xiaomi doesn’t dominate the premium segment in the Indian market. Nevertheless, its Mi Band and Mi TVs are a big hit across the Indian market.

Crypto Veteran says NFT will become revenue model for Metaverse

NFTs will become a revenue model for Metaverse

William Quigley, a co-founder of Tether (USDT) believes that Non – Fungible Tokens (NFT) are going to be the revenue model for the metaverse. Tether is a cryptocurrency and is also called a stablecoin because it is pegged to the US Dollar. It is one of the first cryptocurrencies to peg its value to a fiat currency.

He believes that the annual revenue from the sale of NFTs in Metaverse would be at least $10 trillion, according to a report published on Bloomberg on Sunday. The word ‘Metaverse’ is made up of the prefix ‘meta’ (meaning beyond) and the stem ‘verse’ (from Universe). The term represents a virtual space where digital collectables can be bought and sold, with the help of cryptocurrency.

Crypto veteran says NFTs are a $10 trillion market in Metaverse

Quigley believes the Metaverse to be “orders of magnitude” larger than this because video games are only a part of the Metaverse. He thinks that the NFTs are a $10 trillion market in the Metaverse. “In video gaming, the revenue model now is virtual items, and that’s a $175 billion business annually. I think the Metaverse should be orders of magnitude more than that because it’s everything it’s not just gaming,” Quigley said.

Crypto Veteran is optimistic about NFTs

Due to the unique nature of NFTs, their demand is constantly on the rise. Earlier, we had reported that the sale of CryptoPunks had touched the $1 billion mark in lifetime sales on August 28, 2021; forty per cent of it came in the last seven days.

William Quigley is also the co-founder of Worldwide Asset eXchange (WAX), a carbon-neutral blockchain that specializes in the development of NFTs. He pointed out that his goal is set on the mass production of NFTs to make them affordable and to reach out to the ‘bigger market’. “From a consumer-product standpoint, what’s interesting to me is not one NFT selling for $1 million, but a million NFTs are being sold at $1 each. A brand-new business for digital collectables. That seems to me have longer legs and overall a bigger market,” Quigley said.

In the interview, he mentioned that it is difficult to conduct a fundamental analysis of cryptocurrencies, but he is still optimistic about it, especially NFTs.

Good news for all the COD fans out there, Activision may release a new game of the franchise sooner than anyone could expect. A video sent to YouTuber MrDalekJD contains some clues that people believe point to the June 1944 Battle of Merville Gun Battery specifically.

The story takes place in the European and Pacific theaters of World War II, according to a report, which went on to say its narrative will dive into the origin of the allied special forces.

Check out the video which MrDalekJD posted on Twitter claiming that it was sent to him by Call of Duty.
