Google Meets New Live Translation Feature Should Make Hybrid Working Easier

In a move that should make the shift to hybrid working even easier, Google has introduced its new Live Translation feature on Google Meet’s Beta version. When you enable the feature, it will generate live captions as you (or the person at the other end of the call) speaks. At the moment, this feature only translates English to Spanish, German, Portuguese, and French. However, we can expect more extensive language options to roll out soon.

How can you use Google Meet’s New Live Translation Feature?

At this point, the new Live Translation feature is only available to Beta users. If you are a Beta user, all you have to do is get into your settings, select the captions option, and then select the translated caption option. This can be done right when you connect to a new call. As this is a complex piece of tech, you can expect the Beta testing phase to last a few weeks at the bare minimum. Once all the bugs are weeded out, Google is likely to roll out the feature to other users as well.  

The feature is currently available for Google Workspace Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Plus, and Teaching and Learning Upgrade users with the Beta version.

Other Google Meets Updates That Have Rolled Out Recently

Google has been on a roll with its new features lately. Within Google Meets, it has already released a feature that allows users to stream in low light settings as the app will enhance the brightness on its own. It has also rolled out new filters, emojis and masks for personal accounts that use Google Meets.

Google has also released an update that brightens your avatar, changed the way its apps look through the Material You update, and added a Locked Folder feature to Google Photos.

Poco C31 launched in India: Specifications, features and price

Ahead of the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale, Poco has launched its latest offering, the Poco C31, which is the successor to the Poco C3. The budget smartphone has a P2i coating that makes it splash-proof, along with rubberised seals around the SIM tray for additional protection from water. 

Poco C31 Specifications

The Poco C31 specifications include a 6.53-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop-style notch. It also has a TUV Rheinland low blue light certification. The smartphone runs on a MediaTek Helio G35 SoC processor along with up to 4GB RAM. Its up to 64GB storage can be expanded to 512GB. The Poco C31 has a triple rear camera setup with 13 MP + 2 MP + 2MP lenses. It also has a 5MP front camera.

The Poco C31 is priced at Rs. 8,499 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage option and Rs. 9,499 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage options. Additionally, the brand has confirmed that this device will go on sale during the upcoming Flipkart Big Billion Days sale, and so you can expect the price to drop a little. As of now, the brand has said that the launch offer brings a discount of Rs. 500. This means the phone will be available for Rs. 7,999 and Rs. 8,999. If you have an Axis Bank or ICICI bank card, you can also expect an additional 10% discount.

Realme announces V11s 5G in China: Price, Specifications and features

Earlier this year, Realme launched its V11 5G in the V series, which is known for providing 5G capable smartphones on the budget segment. Now, Realme has released its successor, the Realme V11s 5G in China. The V11s 5G comes with a few upgrades over its predecessor, the V11 5G. The most prominent one is the Mediatek Dimensity 810 processor over the Dimensity 700 of V11 5G.  Otherwise pretty much everything stays the same: the same cameras, 5000 mAh battery, the same HD+ display.

Realme V11s 5G Specifications: Design and Dimensions:

The V11s 5G is another sleek looking phone from Realme. It comes in two shades: Aurora Purple and Igneous Gray and weighs in at 186 grams.

Display:

The Realme V11s 5G comes with a 6.5 inch LCD display with 1,600 x 720 pixels HD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch. 

Camera:

V11s packs the same dual rear camera setup from the V11, flaunting a 13MP main camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. It supports 4K video recording @30 or 60 FPS and 1080p@30 or 60 FPS. In front, it has an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture supporting 1080p video recording @ 30 FPS

Processor: 

The all new Mediatek Dimensity 810 chipset is the spotlight feature of Realme V11s 5G. The V11s 5G is the second smartphone globally to be powered by this new processor from Mediatek. Dimensity 810 packs two ARM Cortex A76 cores with frequency up to 2.4 GHz and six ARM Cortex A55 cores clocking up to 1.8 GHz. It has the Mali G57 MC2 GPU.

RAM and ROM:

Realme V11s 5G comes in two variants 4GB RAM/128GB and 6GB RAM/128GB. This smartphone comes with the Dynamic RAM Expansion feature, which expands the RAM using internal storage. Using DRE, the RAM on V11s 5G can be expanded up to 11GB.

Battery: 

Realme V11s 5G is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery. It supports 18 watts fast charging.

OS:

Out of the box, Realme V11s 5G comes with Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11

Realme V11s 5G price and availability:

As we have already mentioned, V11s 5G comes in two variants: 4GB RAM/128GB ROM for ¥1,399 (approx. ₹15,969) and 6GB RAM/128GB ROM for ¥1,599 (approx. ₹18,250).
