Facebook could be rebranding to fit into its own metaverse

Recently, Mark Zuckerberg led a remote-access meeting with his employees and announced his intention to create what he is calling a Metaverse. The metaverse is said to be a set of interconnected experiences that marry hardware and software to change the way users interact with the internet. In other words, it is going to be a combination of augmented, physical and virtual reality.

Facebook May Rebrand To Fit Into Its Metaverse

What is Facebook’s Metaverse?

“What I think is most interesting is how these themes will come together into a bigger idea,” Zuckerberg said to The Verge. “Our overarching goal across all of these initiatives is to help bring the metaverse to life.”

Speaking to The Verge, he said  “[...]But you can think about the metaverse as an embodied internet, where instead of just viewing content — you are in it. And you feel present with other people as if you were in other places, having different experiences that you couldn’t necessarily do on a 2D app or webpage, like dancing, for example, or different types of fitness.”

What is Facebook’s Metaverse?

Facebook may change its name to suit its new branding

Facebook intends to transition from a social media company to an internet-tech firm, with the introduction of the Metaverse. In tandem with the intention, it may be changing its name to suit its new business strategies. Other tech giants have employed the same strategies in the past, with Google transferring its business to Alphabet Inc to diversify its industries, and Snapchat filing its business under Snap Inc to grow into more than a camera app.

Telegram chomps a large slice of the market with its downloads crossing the 1 billion mark

While Whatsapp has been touted as the world’s biggest messaging app, it’s facing fierce competition from its rival, Telegram. The app recently crossed the one billion download mark on the Google PlayStore, proving that brands that have cornered the market can always lose their crowns to new arrivals.

Why has there been a surge in Telegram downloads?

Why has there been a surge in Telegram downloads?

After Whatsapp released its new privacy rules earlier in 2021, the brand faced major controversies regarding the same, with them eventually revisiting their privacy policies and launching a host of ads reassuring customers about their data being safe. Early 2021 saw a surge in Telegram downloads in response to the privacy rules, and this surge has proven to be more than a temporary fad. With Facebook recently making headlines about its own policies, most brands associated with the tech giant are seeing a dip in customer base. Many urban users who are concerned about data privacy are migrating to apps like Telegram and Signal in favour of Whatsapp. Facebook’s recent outage that lasted 6 hours also resulted in over 70 million downloads for Telegram.

Telegram is popular with younger users

Additionally, Telegram has also proven to be popular amongst younger audiences who are a part of social groups centered on gaming or studying. The app allows people to create or join such groups and share relevant content on the same. Telegram also lets users record live streams, making it a good option for those who host frequent webinars.

WhatsApp currently has 2 billion active users, and if Telegram continues to grow at the same pace, then it may very well surpass Whatsapp in due time.

Apart from the usual information included on a piece of identity paper, such as a person's name, gender, date of birth, and place of residence.

What is an e-Aadhaar?

As the name suggests, an electronic copy of your Aadhaar card is an e-Aadhaar card. The electronic version of the Aadhaar card is password-protected and is just as valid as the physical card. Users may get a copy of their e-Aadhaar by going onto the UIDAI's official website, uidai.gov.in, or eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.

Because this Aadhaar Card update is so beneficial, everyone should be urged to download it. Yet, the process earlier has been much too lengthy up to this point. But now, according to the UIDAI, this process has been simplified to the fact that you may get your e-Aadhaar Card update in as little as 10 minutes.

The process for downloading an e-Aadhaar card is as follows:

1. Navigate to the official UIDAI website at https://uidai.gov.in/. 2. On my Aadhaar website, choose 'Download Aadhaar' from the drop-down option. 3. Select either an 'Enrolment ID' or a 'Virtual ID' on the next page. 4. Individuals interested in downloading the e-Aadhaar are advised to verify the CAPTCHA code before submitting their application thoroughly. 5. An OTP will be sent to you to authenticate and verify the transaction's information. To finish the e-transaction, enter the OTP. 6. If you have provided all the required information, your e-Aadhaar may be downloaded to your smartphone.

According to the UIDAI, it is protected by a password that must be entered to see the information. When creating your e-Aadhaar card password, be sure to include the first four letters of your given name, along with the year in which you were born.
