Elden Ring PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series SX consoles and PC performance details revealed by developer

Considered as one of the most anticipated games of 2022, we finally have a lot of details about FromSoftware’s Elden Ring. While the game has been delayed to February 2022, the developer has not been quiet and has released a gameplay demo giving Soul’s fans a glimpse at the open world, combat and multiplayer elements of the game. You can check out the breathtaking gameplay below.

If you were wondering how the game will run on the new-gen consoles, previous-gen consoles and the PC, then there is some good news for you. Publisher, Bandai Namco has divulged information regarding the target resolution and frame rates the game will run at.

Elden Ring resolution, frame rate, and more details

PC: On the PC, Elden Ring will run at a maximum resolution of 3840x2160p AKA 4K. The game can run on the PC at up to 60FPS. There is no information from the publisher on an unlocked frame rate for the game on the PC. The game will support HDR and Raytracing, but the latter will come later via a patch post-launch. The minimum and recommended system requirements for the game are yet to be revealed.

PS4, PS4 Pro and PS5: Starting off with the PlayStation consoles, Elden Ring will run at 1080p 30FPS with HDR on the base PS4 and 1800p 30FPS on the PS4 Pro with support for HDR. On the PS5 (review) the game will have the option of a performance mode that will target 60FPS and a resolution mode that will let the game run in 4K at 30FPS. Both modes will support HDR and Ray Tracing support will come for the PS5 later via an update.

As far as saves are concerned the publisher says, “The PS4 version can be ported to PS5 and the save data can be transferred to the newest generation. However, the PS5 version cannot be ported to PS4. If you port your PS4 game to PS5 and continue to play, your save files cannot be transferred back to PS4”.

Xbox One, Xbox Series consoles: On the base Xbox One and One S (review), Elden Ring will run at 900p 30 FPS with only the One S supporting HDR and not the base Xbox One. The Xbox One X (review) will run the game at 4K 30FPS with support for HDR. Moving over to the Xbox Series consoles, the Series X (review) will run the game at 4K 30FPS or 60FPS with a dynamic resolution, just like the PS5. The Series X will also get Raytracing support via an update in the future. The Series S on the other hand will run the game at 1440p 30FPS or dynamic resolution with support for 60FPS. Both the Series X and Series S will support HDR, but the Series S will not support Raytracing.

As far as saves for the Xbox are concerned, the publisher says, “Full cross-generation compatibility. The game can be ported between both generations and the save data can be transferred”.

Elden Ring will hit the consoles and PC on 25 February 2022.

Influencers hint towards the launch of BGMI Lite

We all remember when PUBG Mobile was banned last year. However, what we seem to forget at times is that this wasn’t the only version of the game to be banned. PUBG Mobile Lite, a separate version of the game aimed at lower-powered devices, was also banned. But, while PUBG Mobile is back in the new avatar of Battlegrounds Mobile India, Krafton Inc, the developers of the game, haven’t yet confirmed anything related to PUBG Mobile Lite.

BGMI Lite Launch

PUBG Mobile Lite had its own community in India, most likely due to the fact that the game could be played by those on low-powered devices. This is also the reason why games like Garena Free Fire are so popular. However, with the return of BGMI, the hopes of fans have gone up. As mentioned earlier, Krafton Inc has kept mum, but some notable influencers have spoken up about the game’s launch. Back in October, both ‘Ghatak’ and ‘Maxtern’ had said that a ‘lite’ version of BGMI would launch. While Maxtern claimed that the game would launch soon, Ghatak noted that the game would eventually launch, albeit after a while.

Right now, it is possible that Krafton Inc already has its hands full with the impending release of PUBG New State. The game is scheduled to launch on November 11 in over 200 countries. The launch will include both Android and iOS devices. The developers note that the game will use state-of-the-art rendering technology along with a gunplay system that is on par with the PC version of PUBG: Battlegrounds. The game will also feature a number of gameplay changes that include weapon customisation, a drone store and a player recruitment system. Krafton has also confirmed that Erangel will make a return to the game along with the new Troi map.
