OnePlus 10 Pro early prototype renders leaked showing off triple cameras, design and more

OnePlus 10 Pro is still some months away from its official launch, but today, popular tipster OnLeaks has leaked some renders that are based on an early prototype. The OnePlus 10 series is expected to be OnePlus’ flagship smartphone range for 2022 that may launch sometime in March like the OnePlus 9 series this year. Before we go ahead, do note that these renders are based on an early prototype so there’s still a lot that can change between now and the OnePlus 10 Pro launch.

In partnership with Zouton, OnLeaks has provided some detailed renders that are based on early prototypes. The pictures show us a drastic departure in the design of the OnePlus 10 Pro over the OnePlus 9 Pro. We get to see a square camera module that looks like an extension of the metal frame.

Sooo... I'm back from the Future again, this time with the very first and early look at the #OnePlus10Pro in form of stunning 5K renders! On behalf of @ZoutonUS -> https://t.co/OPSs1ray1P pic.twitter.com/A6h1EfT98a

— Steve H.McFly (@OnLeaks) November 9, 2021

The pictures indicate that the OnePlus 10 Pro will have triple cameras on the back with the fourth cutout housing an LED flash. Interestingly, these renders do not have the Hasselblad branding which means that they are really our first look at some of the early designs OnePlus is toying around for its next flagship phone. Apart from these pictures, OnLeaks has also provided some key specs of the OnePlus 10 Pro. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming OnePlus flagship.

OnePlus 10 Pro leaked specifications

The OnePlus 10 Pro features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display that offers QHD+ (3216x1440 pixels) resolution and likely supports a high refresh rate of 120Hz or more.

The phone has a thickness of 8.7mm as per OnLeaks, and the full dimensions are 163.2 mm x 73.6 mm x 8.7 mm, which is the same as the OnePlus 9 Pro.

Furthermore, the tipster has revealed to Zouton that the OnePlus 10 Pro will come equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and likely supports fast charging of 65W or more. The phone is expected to arrive with 128GB storage and 256GB storage.

ASUS Vivobook 17 Review: Size Above All

The ASUS VivoBook 17 is a laptop capable of performing daily productivity tasks and some light gaming. Its 17.3-inch FHD display combined with a loudspeaker system will fit well in your workflow and can offer a great viewing experience as well. However, the laptop's underutilized keypad real estate and weight can be a problem for some users. Further, if you're willing to settle for a smaller screen, you can also find a similarly specced laptop at a more affordable price.

I like laptops with big screens. They give you the feeling of working on a traditional desktop, but with the added benefits of portability. The presence of a big screen also paves way for a big and wide chassis which, at least theoretically, leads to better airflow and performance. So when the ASUS VivoBook 17 landed on my desk, I had the same expectations from it that I usually have with a big-screen laptop. Needless to say, I was pretty excited. And after using this laptop for over a week, and testing every bit of its functionality, here’s what I think about it.

ASUS VivoBook 17 Specs

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500U 6-Core 12-Thread CPU with 2.1GHz base clock, 4.0GHz boost clock and 15W TDP GPU: AMD Radeon Graphics Processor with 7 Graphic Core and 1800MHz graphics frequency RAM: 16GB DDR4 RAM Storage: 512GB SSD Storage Display: 17.3-inch FHD display Weight: 2.3kg Battery Size: 65Wh

ASUS VivoBook 17 Performance Review

The ASUS VivoBook 17 packs in an AMD Ryzen 5 5500U APU, which stands for Accelerated Processing Unit. It packs the CPU and the GPU on the same die. The CPU is a 6-core/12-thread unit (which we’ll talk about in a minute) and the GPU is a low-powered Radeon Graphics processor with 7 Graphics Core. The CPU has a Max. Operating temperature (Tjmax) of 105 °C and an 8MB superfast L3 cache.

With the introduction aside, let’s take a look at the actual performance. The Hexa-core CPU belongs to AMD Ryzen’s “U” series processors, which are power-efficient. And it certainly is one, in around 20 minutes of YouTube video watching and web browsing the battery only drops by 5%.

In the PC Mark 10 Extended benchmark, the laptop scored 4293. It scored high in “Essentials” and “Productivity” but had decent numbers in “digital content creation” and “gaming.”

The AMD Ryzen 5 5500U chip scored 2362 in Cinebench R20 and 1161 and 3743 in single and multicore performance in Cinebench R23 respectively. These are pretty good numbers and translate to similar real-world performance as well. When using Wondershare Filmora video editing software, the chip can render a 10-minute long 4K file at 60FPS with H.254 encoder and a bit rate of 80000 in around 39:39 minutes.

Furthermore, the laptop struggled when editing photos in the online photo editing app Vectr. I tried a number of tasks including resizing, cropping and the laptop struggled to keep up.

In terms of GPU performance and gaming, the AMD Ryzen 5 5500U took me by surprise. I ran the chip through 3d Mark’s TimeSpy and FireStrike and it scored pretty decently. I tested games like Valorant and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The GPU delivered between 90-95 FPS in low settings at 1080p resolution in Valorant and 30 FPS at lowest setting while running Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

The ASUS VivoBook 17 is not built to play Cyberpunk 2077, but you can definitely enjoy some light gaming on it. Considering the kind of purpose it’s mostly built for - productivity and daily usage - the kind of performance it delivers in games is quite good.

ASUS VivoBook 17 Review Specs Price Details India Launch

My ASUS VivoBook 17 review came with 16GB DDR4 RAM and under most conditions with a few tabs open and another two or three apps running in the background, its usage stays at around 50%. Considering the kind of performance, the 16GB memory should make this laptop quite future proof.

ASUS VivoBook 17 Display Performance

As mentioned the ASUS VivoBook 17 comes with a 17.3-inch FHD display with a 16:9 aspect ratio. In our display testing, we found that the laptop comes with 269 nits of peak brightness. Additionally, the laptop’s screen has 63.9% sRGB coverage and 47.4% DCI P3 coverage. Furthermore, the FHD display has an 861:1 contrast ratio, which is kind of expected from an entry-level LCD panel.

ASUS VivoBook 17 Review Specs Price Details India Launch

The RGB balance of the screen is towards a bluish tint and the Average colour palette temperature is also 7228K, which showcases cooler colours. We also tested the laptop’s screen for colour accuracy and during the ColorChecker analysis, we found an average DeltaE value of 5.4 and a max DeltaE value of 19.7, meaning that the display is not colour accurate.

ASUS VivoBook 17 Review Specs Price Details India Launch

Overall, the ASUS VivoBook 17’s display is big in size, but not so big on features. It is a fairly average and serviceable display that’s usually found on most laptops. The screen has a matte finish that prevents reflections as much as possible, which is a nice feature.

ASUS VivoBook Battery Life

The ASUS VivoBook 17 comes with a 65Wh battery, according to official information. The battery size is pretty big for a laptop in this category. I tried running the standard PC Mark 10 Battery life benchmark, but for some reason, it kept crashing on this laptop. After three tries, I tried to manually test the battery life.

I kept the laptop at 100% screen brightness and its battery in performance mode before removing the charger. After streaming a YouTube video with several Chrome tabs opened in the background, the laptop’s battery discharged around 4%, which is pretty great. In my real-world testing, I found that the laptop easily lasted eight hours during continuous usage.

ASUS VivoBook 17 Keyboard, Trackpad, Build Quality And Design

ASUS VivoBook 17 Review Specs Price Details India Launch

The ASUS VivoBook 17 is a big laptop in terms of length and height. Its 17-inch display towers in front of you. However, its huge deck area seems underutilised. You can find plenty of real estate near the keys, which remain under-utilised. The keyboard feels adequate for its size but the trackpad could have been bigger.

The keys have good travel and the laptop’s chassis is quite sturdy. There's also a very small amount of flex, which you can easily ignore. Overall the build quality of the laptop is very good and the device feels like a heavy-duty machine.

The ASUS VivoBook 17 comes with two speakers placed underneath the laptop. They are loud, but sound hollow and lack bass. I’d suggest using earphones if you’re planning to watch some content on this laptop. You get no manual control over the laptop fans, but they turn on whenever you’re playing a game or running a resource-heavy application.

ASUS VivoBook 17 Review: Verdict

ASUS VivoBook 17 Review Specs Price Details India Launch

From these tests, it is clear that the ASUS VivoBook 17 is a jack of all trades and a master of none. It features a power-efficient yet capable entry-level APU, a decent amount of storage, good battery life and a big screen. It can play games, but not at the highest graphical preset, you can watch videos on it for hours but not in 4K resolution and its keyboard is great but the trackpad could have been bigger.

If you’re looking to buy a general-purpose laptop for a big screen for Rs 61,990, then the ASUS VivoBook 17 is a decent choice. But if you’re willing to opt for a smaller screen then you can get pretty much a similarly performing laptop for much cheaper.

OnePlus Nord 2 allegedly explodes again, severely injuring users thigh: Reports claim

OnePlus Nord 2 has allegedly exploded again. reports claim that this time, it casued severe second-degree burns to the user. If reports are to go by, this is the fourth such incident, which in turn has lead to public outrage over the quality control practices of OnePlus. A Twitter user has posted some pictures of a charred Nord 2, along with a soul-searing picture of the injured right thigh of the user.

The tweet was posted on November 3 by Suhit Sharma and yesterday he tweeted again stating that OnePlus is in constant touch with them and that the R&D team is working on resolving this case. Unfortunately, there are no details about what caused the incident and led the Nord 2 to catch fire.

@OnePlus_IN Never expected this from you #OnePlusNord2Blast see what your product have done. Please be prepared for the consequences. Stop playing with peoples life. Because of you that boy is suffering contact asap. pic.twitter.com/5Wi9YCbnj8

— Suhit Sharma (@suhitrulz) November 3, 2021

The pictures show the phone exploded from the middle, and in between the frame causing second-degree burns to the user. Suhit has also shared a picture of the jeans this user was wearing when the blast occurred. Apart from the four images posted by Suhit, there is not a lot of information that he shared online and an official statement from OnePlus is awaited.

@OnePlus_IN is in constant touch with us and R&D team is working on the case we are Co-operating with them to get this resolved asap

— Suhit Sharma (@suhitrulz) November 8, 2021

Meanwhile, a relative of the victim reached out to MySmartPrice and said that the incident took place at midnight while he was riding a bike. As per that report, the phone was purchased two months back from Amazon and the user is now in hospital with second-degree burns. OnePlus has collected the burned unit of the Nord 2 from the user and has issued a full refund along with taking care of the medical expenses.

This isn’t the first case of a Nord 2 exploding that we have heard. In September, a lawyer’s Nord 2 unit allegedly caught fire and exploded inside the court chamber. The lawyer, Gaurav Gulati, did not submit the unit to OnePlus, which led the company to send a cease and desist notice to him.

In October, another user claimed that his Nord 2 charging adapter exploded, which OnePlus later said was caused due to voltage fluctuations.

The latest incident, however, should put\ a spotlight on OnePlus to investigate thoroughly into the matter and initiate a recall if there’s something wrong with the Nord 2.

In related news. OnePlus is gearing to launch a special OnePlus Nord 2 Pac-Man edition in India that is inspired by the iconic maze game. The phone has a redesigned back panel that glows in the dark and is priced at Rs 37,999.

You Can Now Watch These 13 Marvel Movies in IMAX format on Disney+

Disney+ confirmed recently that it will be introducing an IMAX Enhanced feature that will, as the name suggests, allow you to watch certain movies in the IMAX format. The IMAX aspect ratio is, for the time being, available for 13 Marvel Cinematic Universe films, letting comic-buffs enjoy their favourite stories in a more visually immersive style.

What does the IMAX ratio do?

The new IMAX Enhanced feature on Disney+ allows you to view content in what is known as the IMAX ratio, which is 1.90:1. What does this mean for viewers? Well, the content will now be 26% taller when compared to the widescreen format it is available in. The widescreen format, for reference, is 2.35:1. Scenes that were shot in the IMAX format will appear more spectacular, with reduced black bars.

How do you know if a film is IMAX Enhanced?

When you’re browsing movies on Disney+, you’ll be able to see a new label that indicates whether the movie is compatible with the new IMAX Enhanced feature. Through this, you’ll know which movies can be watched in this new format, and which cannot. In case you don’t want to watch your favourite MCU movie in the IMAX format, you can always change the settings to the standard version and watch it that way.

User’s should note that IMAX Enhanced will offer immersive DTS sound to Disney+, which should significantly enhance the sound in general.

Which MCU films will be available in the IMAX Enhanced format?

Currently, Disney+ has made the feature available across 13 Marvel movies. These include Ant-Man and the Wasp, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Black Panther, Black Widow, Captain America: Civil War, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy 1 & 2, Iron Man, Thor Ragnarok, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

These changes will be implemented by November 12.

Googles 2-Step Verification has rolled out

Earlier this year, Google had revealed that it would be rolling out its new 2-step verification protocol to keep accounts safe. Now, the tech giant has begun rolling out the mandate, and this means that it has begun the process of enrolling close to 150 million accounts automatically. Currently, the process has been initiated for the first wave of accounts that have completed all their configuration requirements. In fact, Google has informed these users that the 2-step verification will be activated automatically on their accounts by 9th November.

Who will get the automatic enrollment by 9 November?

According to Google, accounts that have not signed up for the 2-step verification already will be automatically enrolled for the same. However, this statement only holds true for accounts that have completed their configuration requirements. Any account with a phone number or recovery email linked to it is eligible for the 2-step verification protection. Accounts without the same are not eligible for the protection as of now.

How can you sign up for 2-Step verification on Gmail?

Here’s some good news for those who want to protect their accounts. You can sign up for two-step verification on your own, and don’t have to wait for the company to enroll you. Doing so is quite easy. All you need to do is follow these steps: Google > Select Account > Security > Signing In to Google > 2-step verification. Provided that your phone number or recovery email is linked to your Google Account, you will be able to initiate the verification instantly.

Additionally, you can also turn off the 2-step verification system in case you don’t want it on your account. However, according to Google, this makes your account less secure, so you might not want to do the same.

Xiaomi 12 tipped to feature 100W fast charging and 50MP primary camera

Xiaomi 12 is rumoured to launch before the end of 2021 with the all-new Snapdragon 898 that’s expected to be announced during the Snapdragon Tech Summit. The summit is expected to begin on November 30. As per the latest leak, the Xiaomi 12 supports 100W fast charging and features a new and improved 50MP main camera sensor.

As per, Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 12 will be the standard flagship in the lineup that skips on the periscope and ultra-wide angle sensors which are expected to make an appearance on the Ultra version. The Xiaomi 12 features a new and improved 50MP primary camera and supports 100W fast charging out-of-the-box.

The stack of l1l2 is still very proud, if you are not interested in high-quality periscope and super wide-angle, you can use the standard version. The 50MP outsole main camera is not bad this time, and the 100W fast charge super large battery can also maintain a slim body.

— Digital Chat Station (@chat_station) November 8, 2021

It seems like Xiaomi is reserving the 120W fast charging speed for the Ultra version, but it may also equip it with a faster charging system than that. The tipster also notes that the Xiaomi 12 will have a large battery, but will maintain a slim design.

Xiaomi was the first company to launch a phone powered by the Snapdragon 888 last year, the Mi 11 and it could be looking to replicate that this year with the launch of its flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 12.

As of writing this, it remains unclear whether Xiaomi is launching a single flagship or multiple phones in the Xiaomi 12 flagship series. Earlier leaks have also suggested that the Xiaomi 12 Pro could have a 50MP triple-camera setup, but there is no information on that yet.

Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit also begins on November 30, which is where everyone expects the chip-maker to launch the next-generation Snapdragon 898 chip.
