Amazon Prime Video now allows iOS users in the US to share 30-second clips on limited shows and movies

If you’ve ever felt like sharing a bit of a film or TV show with your friends, Amazon Prime is now giving you that very option. The company announced that users on the Prime Video platform will now be able to share 30-second clips from a select number of shows. The feature is only available on iOS devices in the United States, as of now. There has been no announcement regarding the international launch or Android release in the feature. Users on iOS in the US will now be presented with a Share a Clip button on the video player. You can then click on it and send a 30-second clip of whatever you’re watching to your friends and family.

Prime Video sharing feature

What is the Sharing feature on Prime Video?

We’re not sure of the practical application of this feature and it seems like a bit of a novelty for now. To access the feature, users will have to click on the Share a Clip button after which they will be presented with an editing option. You can then cut out a 30-second clip, which can then be further tweaked and sent to your friends and family. Users can share the clip on platforms like Instagram, Messenger, Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp and Apple’s iMessage.

What shows can be shared using this feature?

As of right now, the feature is only available on a select number of shows. These include Season One of the Bos, The Wilds, Fairfax and the animated hit Invincible. Amazon has said that the company will be expanding their roster of films and shows where users can send clips from. Maybe Amazon is looking at capturing the meme market with short punchy clips, but to be really sure, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Valve Steam Deck is delayed till February 2022 due to component shortages

Valve's upcoming Steam Deck garnered quite the hype when it was first announced a few months ago. The portable gaming machine would allow PC gamers to play their favourite PC titles whenever and wherever they wanted. The device was initially scheduled to start shipping in December this year, but it looks like players will have to wait a bit longer to get their hands on the portable console. Valve has announced that the Steam Deck will be delayed. The company cites component shortages as the reason for the delay.

Valve SteamDeck delayed chip shortage

“We’re sorry about this—we did our best to work around the global supply chain issues, but due to material shortages, components aren’t reaching our manufacturing facilities in time for us to meet our initial launch dates,” Valve noted on a post on its official website.

Valve Steam Deck: When should we expect it now?

In its post, Valve notes that the launch of the Steam Deck will be delayed by two months. The company also estimates that the Steam Deck should start shipping to customers in February, 2022. Valve notes, “This will be the new start date of the reservation queue—all reservation holders keep their place in line but dates will shift back accordingly. Reservation date estimates will be updated shortly after this announcement.” Hopefully, missing the lucrative festive season won’t have too much of an impact. After all, good things come to those who wait. Unless you waited for Cyberpunk 2077...

Valve SteamDeck

By the looks of it, the Valve Steam Deck has its eyes set on dethroning the Nintendo Switch as the ultimate portable gaming machine to have right now. The Switch has been a success story for Nintendo and it isn’t surprising that other companies are trying to cash in. While the Switch now has stable developer support in the form of many Triple-A developers, the Steam Deck will hope to lure gamers looking for a more powerful system that offers better graphics.

However, sheer graphics alone aren’t enough at times. Valve isn't the first to try and step up to Nintendo and try to hold its own in the portable gaming market. The Japanese company has pretty much locked that segment since the late 80s starting with its Game Boy series of devices. It then doubled down with the Nintendo DS family. In that time, both Sega and Sony tried to have a go, only to fail. Will Valve succeed with the Steam Deck? Only time will tell.

Indian government to meet stakeholders to discuss future of cryptocurrency in India

Softening its stance on cryptocurrencies, the Government of India is now planning to hold talks with top crypto exchanges and stakeholders in the country including CoinSwitch Kuber, CoinDCX, WazirX, and Crypto Assets Council (BACC). As per reports, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance will serve these stakeholders on November 15 where they will possibly discuss issues concerning the future of cryptocurrencies in India.

What is the future of cryptocurrency in India?

Reports state that during the meeting, both the government and industry representatives and stakeholders will discuss the "impact that cryptocurrencies can have on the Indian currency and overall economy". The meeting “Hearing of the views of associations, industry experts on the subject of ‘CryptoFinance’: Opportunities and challenges,” is not the first time that government representatives are sitting down with crypto stakeholders to figure out a sustainable solution for the future of cryptocurrencies in the country. However, this will be one of the few times, when the first one when it will be in a formal capacity.

The Indian Government is looking at meeting with crypto experts

The move also signals a change in the government's stance on cryptocurrencies, which over the past few years have had to deal with a lot of uncertainty. To recall, in 2018, the Reserve Bank of India had imposed a ban on banks dealing with crypto businesses. Since then, the Supreme Court overturned the order in 2020. However, even after that, there were reports of the government wanting to ban cryptocurrencies earlier this year.

Could cryptocurrency boost the country's economy?

As such, attempts to now have deeper conversations with the stakeholders involved now signal the government intend to move away from its rigid stance from before and look at possible ways of including them to not only appease crypto enthusiasts in the country but also look at ways to help use them to achieve India’s digital ambition and in the process also boost the economy.

JioBook specs leak: GeekBench listing reveals MediaTek MT8788 SoC, 2 GB RAM for upcoming Android 11 laptop

The upcoming JioBook laptop and some of its specifications reportedly leaked on the Geekbench listing. According to the leak, the JioBook uses an Arm-based MediaTek MT8788 chip along with 2GB RAM. Instead of Windows, the JioBook seems to use Android 11 as its primary operating system, as per the leaked information.

JioBook Specs leaked earlier this year hinted at a Snapdragon 665 SoC in pair with a Snapdragon X12 4G modem. Furthermore, JioBook could also launch in three different variants, namely model numbers - NB112MM, NB1148QMW and NB1118QMW, according to a Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification.

JioBook Specs, Performance And Android OS Revealed

JioBook Specs Leak Features Budget Android Laptop

As per Geekbench, the MediaTek MT8788 chip powering JioBook has an 1178 score in single-core and 4246 points in multi-core performance.

Another set of leaked JioBook specs reveal upto 4GB LPDDR4x RAM along with 64GB of maximum onboard internal storage. The same set of JioBook specs leak point towards a mini HDMI slot, a 720p HD screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a bunch of Jio and Microsoft apps for the upcoming JioBook laptop.

If the leaks are true then JioBook will be one of the few domestically made Android-powered laptops in India, a combination that’s harder to see and even harder to pull off. Nonetheless, with the flexibility of Android 11, a mobile OS, and the design advantage of a physical keyboard, JioBook is one upcoming laptop everyone should be on the lookout for.
