Oppo Find N foldable smartphone confirmed to launch on December 15

Oppo has officially confirmed the arrival of its first mainstream foldable phone, the Find N, for December 15, the second day of the OPPO INNO Day event. The teaser image of the phone confirms an inward folding design similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and also showcases a triple camera set-up on the rear.

Find N was introduced by Peter Lau, chief product officer at Oppo and co-founder of OnePlus. He revealed that the phone has been in the making for 4 years and Oppo has focused on making the phone beautiful and pleasant, and easy to use.

“For OPPO, it is better to launch a product at a later date when it is ready to offer a great user experience instead of simply rushing to keep up with trends. As early as April 2018, the first generation of the Find N prototype was born internally. Although a handful of other brands have already introduced foldable devices to the market, barriers such as utility, durability and user experience continue to prevent foldable devices from becoming a more feasible daily driver for most people,” said Pete Lau while introducing the upcoming foldable phone.

Oppo Find N Specifications

Oppo Find N recently surfaced on a Geekbench listing which revealed that the phone will be powered by Snapdragon 888 octa-core chipset paired with 12GB RAM and have Android 11 as the base software.

This upcoming Oppo foldable phone is likely to include an 8-inch LTPO display with 2K resolution and 120Hz variable refresh rate.

According to camera specifications leaked on the Camera FV-5 website, this foldable will include a 12.6 MP primary sensor, paired with an f/1.8 aperture lens and equipped with OIS. The front camera resolution is allegedly 8.1 MP and it’s paired with an f/2.4 lens and EIS. These could very well point to resolution after binning from 50MP rear and 32MP front sensors.

Apart from Find N, Oppo is likely to introduce more Concept devices and innovative smartphone tech at Inno Day 2021 starting on December 14 next week.

Sony PS5’s are flying off the shelves faster than Sony can make them. Sony has reduced its forecast of PS5 sales from 15 million to 14.8 million by March 2022 because of the ongoing global chip shortage. If you are still rocking a PS4, then fear not. Upcoming Sony exclusives like Horizon Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarök will also launch on the PS4.

OnePlus has started rolling out an OxygenOS 12 update based on Android 12 for the users of the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro globally. Like all its past updates, the OxygenOS 12 update is also being seeded incrementally which means it will reach a small number of users for the next few days. A broader rollout is set to begin in the next few weeks.

The OxygenOS 12 brings lots of upgrades and features to the table and sets the stage for the company’s upcoming unified OS that is expected to debut with the 2022 flagship- OnePlus 10 series. OnePlus 10 series could be showcased at CES 2022: Report

OnePlus 10 series might be making an earlier-than-expected debut at CES 2021 next month. An invite for the OnePlus event for January 5 has apparently surfaced online, and the company could bring in the 10 Pro and 10 in Las Vegas next month.

The 10 series is likely to first hit retail shelves in China and the global availability will reportedly commence later in March - April next year.

The early arrival isn’t out of place considering that the brand skipped the 9T upgrade in the second half of this year. However, it’s also likely that OnePlus will share a teaser for these upcoming flagships.

Meanwhile, OnePlus officially merged with parent company Oppo and launched a few Nord phones in the mid-range. In India, OnePlus is reportedly also launching 9RT, an upgrade to OnePlus 9R, on December 17 to celebrate its 8th year anniversary.

OnePlus 10 Pro Specifications

OnePlus 10 Pro is rumoured to sport a 6.7-inch QHD display with a 120Hz variable refresh rate. The phone is confirmed to employ Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC which will likely be paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The square camera module at the back will retain Hasselblad branding. The primary camera will allegedly have a 48MP sensor, accompanied by a 50MP wide-angle shooter, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3.3x optical zoom. Not much has been reported about the OnePlus 10, but it’s likely to retain similar specifications.

An interesting highlight of the 10 series phones will be their software. OnePus earlier announced that the unified version of ColorOS and OxygenOS will debut with the 2022 flagship. The OxygenOS 12 update that’s based on Android 12 has started rolling out for the OnePlus 9 Pro and 9, but this one isn’t major deviance from the OxygenOS 11, at least on the surface.
