Top NASA scientist says that we could terraform Mars using a magnetic shield
Sometimes we tend to forget that we live in an amazing time. Apart from the pandemic and all, but even then, the explosion of technology, ideas and commerce has led to a world where a lot seems possible. It’s one of the few keys to progress, the drive to explore and discover. Well, according to Top retired NASA scientist, Jim Green, we could even begin terraforming planets like Mars and even Venus. As the director of Nasa’s planetary science division. Green has been at the agency since 1980. In fact, he was even one of the people that came up with a scientific proposal on how we could verify and detect alien life.
Terraforming Mars? Use a magnetic shield says NASA scientistIn a recent interview with the New York Times, Green proposed that we could currently even terraform a dead planet like Mars. He talks about using a magnetic shield to prevent the sun from stripping away the ozone layer of the planet, bathing it in radiation. A magnetic shield would shield the planet and allow it to trap more heat and slowly begin to develop a climate that is habitable to humans. It’s not as simple as it sounds and requires a massive undertaking, but realistically, it could be done, according to Greene. He even goes as far as to say that we could conceivably terraform Venus as well by using the same magnetic shield method.
This may sound like science-fiction but do remember that we shot billionaires into space just a few months ago. Sending a team to Mars is tough but that could realistically happen in our lifetimes, the way things are progressing. Green is also keen on exploring the Jupiterian moon, Europa. Many researchers have theorized that Europa could be the one place in our solar system where we find life, other than Earth. The moon is said to contain a large amount of water that is located miles beneath the satellite's icy surface. Who knows what the future hold, but it does look like we’ll find out, sooner or later.

With 2022 underway, Krafton has a couple of announcements for PUBG: New State players that should get them quite hyped. In a post on its official website, the developer not only teased the addition of a new map, but gave away an in-game crate as part of its new year celebrations.
PUBG: New State - New map incomingKrafton has not yet revealed details of the upcoming map, nor the name. However, it did note that the new map will launch sometime in mid-2022. The developers did release some teaser images. Judging by those images, it looks like the new map will feature a mix of urban and rural areas. There also seems to be a mix of mountains and other rock formations, which should add more strategic thought to the game.
PUBG: New State - Free coupon codeAs a part of a “surprise gift,” Krafton is also giving away a coupon code. This code can be used to redeem six Chicken Medals and three Royale Chest Tickets. It should be noted that the code is only valid till January 10, 23:59 UTC.
In order to redeem the code, users will have to click here. Then they have to use the code, HAPPYNEWSTATE along with their account ID. The account ID can be accessed via the Settings option in the game.
The new free code comes just a couple of weeks after Krafton offered one as a “token of gratitude” for the delayed update. The code is for the Winter Carnival crate and can be redeemed by any PUBG: New State player.

Alienwares Concept Nyx could allow you to play two games at once on your home network
So, you have a killer gaming PC and hundreds of games at your disposal but you’re a little too busy to really sit down and play. In a perfect world, you could jump into a quick 10-minute session of Call of Duty, get it over and done with and then maybe sneak in a game or two on your work laptop. And, it looks like that’s where Alienware’s Concept Nyx comes in. The idea behind a service like Nyx is to allow users complete and unfettered access to all their games on any device that can run them on your home network. The service works by rendering and processing all the data on your home PC while it streams games to any other device in the vicinity. Remember though, this is all on your home network and not streaming through the cloud.
Alienware's Concept Nyx functions somewhat like Steam Remote PlayAccording to a report on Engadget, the service could run two games simultaneously on two separate devices. So if you’ve got someone else who wants to play Doom: Eternal while you chug away on the Outer Wilds, Nyx could allow you to do that. But the report also states that it is just a concept for now. Reporters from the website also managed to play Cyberpunk 2077 and Rocket League on the same TV, but in small windows. As of now, Steam’s Remote Play feature allows you to do that as well but it could use a bit of work.
All of this is just conceptual right now. We may never see the service hit the market anytime soon or even ever. As of right now, the only use case we can see is if someone has a powerful gaming rig and wants to play games from another part of the house. It’s a little out-there, no doubt, but the company does state that it wants to be able to collate all your games from different installers and give you one single place to access them all. What do you guys think about the service?
