Samsung Galaxy S22 Prices Have Leaked Ahead Of Launch And It May Excite You

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event is right around the corner, i.e., on February 9, 2022 and we are expecting three phones viz. Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Ahead of this event, we have got plenty of leaks and rumors revealing almost everything about them. We have seen their design, specs and just recently, there were some reports claiming that the US prices of the Galaxy S22 phones will be $100 higher than their predecessors. However, quashing those earlier reports, Jon Prosser of FrontPageTech claims that the starting pricing of Samsung Galaxy S22 series will remain the same as the Galaxy S21 phones.

Alleged Samsung Galaxy S22 Series’ Pricing Laid Bare

Mr. Prosser claims the final pricing of the standard Galaxy S22 would start at $799, the Galaxy S22+ at $999 and the Galaxy S22 Ultra at $1,199.

And if that gives you déjà vu, you'll be feeling right as they are the same starting prices at which last year’s Galaxy S21 handsets had debuted.

Here’s the price list of the Samsung Galaxy S21 lineup in the US:

Galaxy S21 128GB: $799 Galaxy S21 256GB: $849 Galaxy S21+ 128GB: $999 Galaxy S21+ 256GB: $1049 Galaxy S21 Ultra 128GB: $1,199 Galaxy S21 Ultra 256GB: $1,249 Galaxy S21 Ultra 512GB: $1,379

Now note that this claim is reserved for US pricing only and we are not sure how Samsung would price the Galaxy S22 family in India.

Speaking of which, the Indian prices of the Galaxy S21 trio had been so at launch:

Galaxy S21 128GB: ₹69,999,  Galaxy S21 256GB: ₹73,999 Galaxy S21+ 128GB: ₹81,999  Galaxy S21+ 256GB: ₹85,999 Galaxy S21 Ultra 256GB: ₹1,05,999 Galaxy S21 Ultra 512GB: ₹1,16,999

Historically, the previous-gen Galaxy flagships tend to get a price cut with the launch of their successors. So, if history repeats itself, you may be able to grab the Galaxy S21 models at discounted prices post the arrival of the Galaxy S22 series. So, keep an eye out for the same.

In related news, the vanilla Galaxy S22 and its elder sibling the Galaxy S22 Plus may delay reaching the stores due to the ongoing chip crisis. However, the Galaxy S22 Ultra might get a headstart as it is expected to ship about two weeks ahead of the other two.
