Twitter Chronological feed takes a backseat with the new Pin your latest timeline option

Twitter is making it tougher for the users to see a chronological timeline of the tweets from the people they follow. In other words, now, there is no way to default to tweets by their recency. Instead, you will have to swipe or click on a new section called Latest Tweets to see the most recent tweets. This is currently being rolled out to iOS users and it is expected to hit Android as well as the web interface soon.

So, when you open your Twitter app, it will land on the Home page, which is the default screen. If you want to view the tweets by their recency, you have to deliberately choose the Latest Tweet tab.

Here’s how it is implemented at the moment:

Enable/Disable Latest Tweet tab on Twitter

On the latest iOS Twitter app version 9.3, when you tap the ✨ icon on the top right corner, you will see an option called, “Pin your Latest timeline”. Its description reads, “The latest Tweets from people you follow will be one swipe away from Home.”

If you choose that option, a new tab will appear right next to the Home tab called, ‘Latest Tweets’. Its function is self-explanatory.

Now, if that’s not what you want, at least for now, there’s the option to revert to just the Home tab (and any other pinned lists you have).

For some of you, this update might seem just fine, but some are disappointed at the removal of the option to pick the default home screen on Twitter between Reverse-Chronological and Algorithmic-driven. The latter first came into the picture in 2016.

Back then, Twitter’s founder and Ex-CEO Jack Dorsey had said, “Twitter is real-time. Twitter is about who & what you follow. And Twitter is here to stay! By becoming more Twitter-y,”

In a similar vein, the official handle of Twitter Support introduced the new change on March 10, 2022, as a means for “easy access”.

Twitter’s update comes at a time when Meta’s Instagram has announced the return of chronological feed on its platform in some shape or form. This is owed to regulatory pressure from the US Congress. Let’s keep tabs on if and how Twitter reacts to the public response to its change.

OnePlus Nord 2T with sandstone finish and big camera island appears in an early render

This year we are expecting a T-variant of the OnePlus Nord 2 and it could be here in April or May month. This OnePlus Nord 2T has now popped up in a new render shared by folks at 91Mobiles. We only get to see the rear side view of the phone with a sandstone finish and a rather big and slightly odd-looking camera panel. It is said to sport a 50MP+ 8MP+ 2MP trio. As for the front, OnePlus might retain the 32MP selfie camera from the Nord 2. However, as we said, the front view isn’t part of this report, and the specifications aren’t official yet.

Still and all, if you’re curious, here’s everything about the device we have scoured from the web:

OnePlus Nord 2T Specs and Features (Expected)

OnePlus Nord 2T appears to have squared off edges as is the trend of late. The device is likely to have an in-display fingerprint reader just like the regular Nord 2. It may have a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate.

It may carry over the 32MP sensor for the front and house a 50MP main camera at the back. The ancillary sensors on the rear side could be an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP black and white lens.

Inside, the phone could be having a Dimensity 1300 chipset with multiple LPDDR4x+ UFS 3.1 memory combinations. It may bear a 4500mAh battery with an 80W fast charger support.

Add 5G, WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2 to the usual paraphernalia.

But again, these are just speculations and to be taken accordingly.

As mentioned in the beginning, the phone is expected to land in the April-May period priced under ₹30K for the base variant. If you recall, that would be an early arrival compared to the predecessor. In the time since the OnePlus Nord 2 in July of last year, we have seen a OnePlus Nord 2 Pac Man Edition and a OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G.

Let’s see when and at what price OnePlus decides to slot in this device. We will be keeping a watch.

Anyways, for more such news, reviews, feature stories, buying guides, and everything else tech-related, keep reading Digit.in.

iQOO Z6 5G India launch officially confirmed tipped to come on March 16

iQOO is going to launch the iQOO Z5 successor aptly named the iQOO Z6 5G. Yes, it will be a 5G phone powered by Snapdragon 695 processor as confirmed by the company itself. It is also extolled as the “fastest” 5G smartphone in the 15 to 18K segment on Amazon India. So, we also know where it will be available. The missing detail though is when it will be launched which according to leakster Abhishek Yadav could be on March 16.

In a teaser video on the brand’s official YouTube channel, we do get to see the backside of the device in two colors viz. greyish black and light blue. Other things revealed thus far are its FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate.

By the way, the company has also floated a new landing page on its website but that doesn’t divulge anything at the time of writing this piece.

That said, from the rumor mill, we have gathered details like that this device may bring a 6.58-inch AMOLED panel and that it could be available in 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB models.

Now from the teasers, the device resembles the Vivo T1 5G, not just in looks but also with respect to some of those aforementioned specs.

Here, take a look at the specifications of the Vivo phone and see what we are talking about.

Vivo T1 5G Specs and Features

Vivo T1 (review) 5G has got a 6.58-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate.

Internally, the phone is driven by a Snapdragon 695 5G SoC along with up to 8+128GB of memory option.

The rest of its offerings include a 5000mAh battery with 18W charging support,  a 3.5mm jack, a 50MP triple rear camera setup, a 16MP front camera, and Android 11 based FunTouch OS 12 software.

Needless to say, iQOO may make changes to these ingredients to differentiate its product. Take, for instance, the use of an AMOLED screen type in place of an LCD.

We may learn what else the iQOO Z6 5G intends to bring in the days leading up to the launch. It is poised to come soon.

Poco X4 Pro 5G showcased in new promo video launch expected soon

Poco X4 Pro 5G saw the daylight alongside the Poco M4 Pro at MWC 2022 and although the latter has made its way to India, the former is yet to make its presence in the country. At least now it has shown up on one of the brand’s recent YouTube promo videos. Also, the keen eyes of leakster Abhishek Yadav have spotted March 22 as the date in one of the frames in the said video. So, he infers that could be the launch date of Poco X4 Pro 5G in India.

Here’s the image from the video that presents this date:

Source: Poco India YouTube | Spotted by @yabhishekhd (Twitter)

Besides that, we don’t have a piece of solid corroborative evidence to support this.

That said, the phone (with model number 2201116PI) is noted to have received Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification which could be taken as a hint of its imminent arrival if you will.

Incidentally, Poco Watch with model number M2131W1 has also apparently got the same certification, which could mean that it may also be on its way to India. However, we hardly know anything about the watch at the moment.

As for the phone, since it’s available elsewhere, we kind of know what to expect from it in terms of its specifications. Here, have a look —

Poco X4 Pro 5G Specs and Features (Expected)

Poco X4 Pro 5G could come with a 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display. Its front camera could be a 16MP selfie shooter. The back cameras might include a 108MP main sensor along with an 8MP ultrawide snapper, and a 2MP macro clicker.

The innards may hold a Snapdragon 695 SoC, a 5000mAh battery (with 67W charging support), and multiple RAM+ROM combos.

The global variant is shipping with Android 11 based MIUI 13 but things might change with the Indian variant. We’ll know it once the launch happens and whence the company reveals the date for the same, you’ll be updated.
