Vivo X80 vs Vivo X80 Pro Comparison: Specifications and Features

Vivo X80 series is here in India. There are two phones namely the Vivo X80 and the Vivo X80 Pro. As has been the case with its predecessors, the new Vivo X series also boasts “cinematic” camera capabilities. The handsets have got a 50MP triple rear camera setup with Zeiss optics, an anti-reflective coating on the glass surfaces, and a proprietary V1 Plus image processor. But, it’s not just cameras, the smartphones are wielding MediaTek and Qualcomm top-trim chipsets, 5G future-readiness, 80W high-speed charging, 120Hz high refresh rate screens, and Android 12 software.

Let’s have a quick comparison of the on-paper specifications of the two Vivo smartphones.

Vivo X80 vs Vivo X80 Pro Comparison

Vivo X80 vs Vivo X80 Pro colors

The vivo X80 and X80 Pro come in a Cosmic Black colour while the Vivo X80 comes in Urban Blue colour too.

Vivo has outfitted the X80 with a 6.78-inch E5 AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. On the Pro model, you get a QHD+ LTPO2 panel which means you get an adaptive refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz. This implementation would be more power-efficient.

You get an optical fingerprint scanner embedded in the Vivo X80 screen. Meanwhile, the X80 Pro has got an ultrasonic fingerprint solution, which is considered more secure. Unlock and you will be welcomed by Funtouch OS based on Android 12 on both devices.

The front camera is a 32MP sensor on both. The standard X80 variant has a 50MP (Sony sensor)+ 12MP(ultrawide)+ 12MP(2x, 20x superzoom) triplet. The Pro has a 50MP Samsung sensor accompanied by a 12MP (2x, gimbal) secondary sensor and an 8MP (5x, 60x super zoom, OIS) periscope zoom lens.

The processing load of the regular Vivo X80 is lifted by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chip coupled with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage setup. A 4500mAh battery keeps the lights on and an 80W charger ensures it stays charged.

The Pro variant gets Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 instead along with upto 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and upto 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

Vivo X80 Pro

Vivo X80 Pro is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance.

Huawei Mate Xs 2 foldable phone launched in the global market, price starting at 1999

Huawei recently stormed the Chinese smartphone market with its latest foldable phone – the Huawei Mate Xs 2. Now, at the company's global event, the Huawei Mate Xs 2 has been announced for imminent launch in the global market. The Huawei Mate Xs 2 comes packing a gargantuan 7.8-inch foldable OLED panel with 120 Hz refresh rate support. In its unfolded state, the phone somewhat resembles regular candy bar-style phones. The display, in the folded state, is a manageable 6.5-inches. Huawei also announced several smartwatches and fitness trackers at this event, but, naturally, the foldable wonder – the Huawei Mate Xs 2 – was the star of the show.

Huawei Mate Xs 2: Specifications and features

The Huawei Mate Xs 2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 4G SoC which is paired with 8 GB RAM and 512 GB internal storage. The phone only comes in one storage configuration and the memory can be expanded by up to 256 GB via microSD card. Moving on to optics, the phone features a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 13-megapixel ultrawide shooter and finally, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS. The selfie camera is a 10-megapixel shooter. Fueling the phone is a 4,600 mAh battery with 66 W fast charging support. Huawei claims that the charger can juice the phone up to 90 per cent in merely 30 minutes.

Huawei Mate Xs 2 launched in the global market, priced at €1,999

Despite being a large smartphone, the Huawei Mate Xs 2 weighs only 255g. The Huawei Mate Xs weighed 300g and the Mate X2 weighed 295g, so there's a significant improvement in terms of weight. Lastly, the phone runs EMUI 12 out of the box.

Huawei Mate Xs 2: Price and availability

The Huawei Mate Xs 2 is priced at €1,999 in the European market for the solitary 8 GB + 512 GB variant. The device comes in three colour variants – Black, White and Violet. It will be available to purchase in June.

In addition to the foldable phone – the Huawei Mate Xs 2, the company also launched the smartwatches and fitness bands including the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro.
