Google is bringing new emojis to Android. It is adopting Unicode 15 standard and there are 21 of these new emojis. This includes Wing, shaking face, leftward pushing hand, rightward pushing hand, shaking face, donkey, jellyfish, and new heart colors. That brings the total to 3,664 emojis. Although, that’s a lot to cover, and you may already be using many of them. So, for now, let’s go through the newly incoming ones, and learn when they will come to your Android phones.
Now, before we jump to the colorful new Android emojis, know that Google is also introducing animated emojis and the option to change the colors of the emojis. Here are all the details:
List of new Android emojisThe 4,489 new characters in #Unicode15 include 20 new #emoji, along with new emoji sequences, expected to show up on Android and iPhones, and other platforms sometime next year → https://t.co/92bPON11bP #絵文字 pic.twitter.com/Tk9cyV1SXo
— The Unicode Consortium (@unicode) September 6, 2022Since Google is basing the new emojis on Unicode 15 standard, the list of new emojis includes:
Shaking Face Light Blue Heart Grey Heart Pink Heart Rightwards Pushing Hand Leftwards Pushing Hand Moose Donkey Wing Goose Jellyfish Ginger Hyacinth Pea Pod Folding Hand Fan Hair Pick Maracas Flute Khanda WirelessYou can use both leftward and rightward pushing hands for a high five. There’s also a pink heart in the list which is apparently the most anticipated emoji. The company has also updated the monochrome Noto Emojis to the latest standard.
However, these might not even be the most exciting part as Google is also sliding in new animated emojis to the Android emoji library. There are about 200 of these and you may find them already within Google Messages.
Last but definitely not least, Google is allowing developers to edit the color of the emojis. You can check out how this works here.
When will the new Android emojis be available?Google has planned the new Unicode 15 emojis to be added to AOSP “in the coming weeks” and they are set to make an appearance on Android in December. It is most likely that Google Pixel phones would be the first to get this update.

Twitter shareholders greenlit Musks 44 billion buyout bid: Heres whats going to happen now
Twitter shareholders on Tuesday voted to approve Tesla CEO Elon Musk's $44 billion takeover bid.
The vote came as Musk's lead team is in a court battle to get out of the deal.
Twitter confirmed that a preliminary count shows it has enough votes to approve the deal, reports The Verge.
Twitter has sued Musk for allegedly breaching the deal agreement.
The vote lets Twitter continue with a lawsuit intended to make Musk close the acquisition.
The legal battle is expected to start in mid-October.
The approval means that Musk and Twitter will proceed to an October trial in the Delaware Court of Chancery.
"Twitter will push to close the deal regardless, alleging that Musk's complaints are merely a pretext for backing out," the report mentioned.
The vote case as Twitter whistleblower Peter Zatko testified at a US Senate committee.
The Tesla CEO is also trying to buy more time from the court to kick off the Twitter trial, set for October 17, citing the testimony by Zatko.
Musk's legal team has proposed a new timeline that would push the week-long trial to late November.
The former Twitter security head has alleged that Twitter misled regulators about its security practices and actual number of bot accounts.
Musk has said that the testimony of Twitter whistleblower justifies his termination of the $44 billion deal to buy the micro-blogging platform.

Indian, US surgeons win global robotic surgery innovation award
San Francisco, Sep 13 (IANS) Robotic surgeons from the US, India and Spain were named the top three winners in the KS International Robotic Surgery Innovation competition, as robotic surgery slowly becomes mainstream.
The winners were selected by an international jury form Oxford and Stanford Universities, and New-Delhi based AIIMS, from the fields of urology, gynaecology, general surgery, hepato-biliary-pancreatic surgery, colorectal, head and neck, paediatric and joint replacement surgeries.
The winning entry of Dr Jihad Kaouk, department of urology, Cleveland Clinic in Ohio was titled Single Port Robot-Assisted Kidney Transplantation Extraperitoneal Approach' in the unique competition organised by Michigan-based robotic surgery evangelist Vattikuti Foundation.
Dr Kaouk and his team modified the technique of robotic kidney transplant developed at the Vattikuti Urology Institute and Medanta Medicity.
Kaouk used a da Vinci single port robot for truly minimally invasive surgery.
"The early results of patients who had undergone robotic kidney transplant through this technique could go home in only 2 days," the foundation said in a statement.
For 'Robotic Infraclavicular Approach for Minimally Invasive Neck Dissection,' the second award went to Dr Sandeep Nayak, Director, Surgical Oncology, Fortis Cancer Institute, Bengaluru.
Dr Nayak innovated a robotic technique to perform very major cancer surgery of the head neck to clear the lymph nodes in the neck with quick patient recovery and minimal discomfort.
The third award went to a team of Dr Alberto Piana, Dr Paolo Verri, and Dr Alberto Breda of Oncology Urology and Kidney Transplant Surgery, Fundacio Puigvert, Barcelona, Spain for their entry of '3D Augmented Reality Guided Robotic Assisted Kidney Transplantation'.
The KS National Robotic Surgery Video' competition is being organised in India since 2015 by Vattikuti Foundation. This year, it went international for the first time.
