Twitter wants you to share a tweet instead of taking a screenshot: Heres how

Twitter has started sending notifications to users while they try to take screenshots of any of the tweets on their app. A lot of users have reported that as soon as they take a screenshot, a pop-up notification appears asking them to share the tweet instead.

Twitter wants you to use the Share button

— Matt Navarra (@MattNavarra) October 7, 2022

It appears that with the new feature added, Twitter wants users know that they don’t have to screenshot tweets anymore as there is a share button in the app. The new feature is likely an attempt by Twitter to bring more users to its platforms rather than just read forwarded screenshots.

Social media consultant Matt Navarra also spotted the new feature and said: “Twitter doesn’t want you to screenshot tweets anymore. It wants active users on platform viewing tweets Instead of via screenshots on rival platforms. One of these now pops up when you take a screenshot,”

“Millions of Tweets are shared from Twitter to other platforms every day. We want to make Tweets accessible to everyone, even when they leave our platform, and allow others an easy way back to the full conversation on Twitter. We’re currently testing this new prompt with a small group of people on iOS to let them know there are other ways they can share Tweets with their friends,” a Twitter spokesperson told TechCrunch.

How do I share a tweet?

Share a tweet

Sharing tweets is simple, one can share Tweets both inside and outside of Twitter. The dedicated share button allows users to share tweets with Direct Messages to someone or even to a group of people.

Tweets can even be shared through SMS messages, email, or a range of other apps. All one needs to do is find a tweet and click on the Share icon and select a contact or app. The share button even allows to copy a link to the Tweet and share the link with others.

RBI explores benefits and risks of digital currency: What is e-Rupee and why do we need it

On October 7, 2022, the Reserve Bank Of India released a detailed concept note that puts forward the “objectives, choices, benefits and risks” related to legalising the Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). India’s digital currency will be referred to as e₹ or digital Rupee. It comes as a critical development in developing a digital version of the Indian currency. While you might come across several rumours or misinformation about the e₹, here is everything you should know.

What is Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) or e₹?

The concept note defined CBDC or e₹ as “new variants of central bank money different from physical cash or central bank reserve/settlement accounts.” When the central bank releases CBDC, it will be considered equivalent to the physical sovereign currency. It should be accepted as a payment medium on par with legal tender.

Additionally, the citizens will be allowed to store value in the form of the CBDC. The paper issued by RBI also mentions that the e₹ will be freely convertible against cash, considered a fungible legal tender and will lower the cost of issuance of money.

Why is the government making efforts to release a digital currency?

The Indian central banks are facing a problem with the lesser usage of paper currency. Further, several countries are restricting the physical movement of cash, promoting digital modes of payments that are faster and more convenient. Last but not least, the central bank seeks to “meet the public’s need for digital currencies,” which is currently represented in privately managed virtual currencies, better known as cryptocurrencies.

Overall, the e₹ will be a centralised virtual form of the Indian currency. Quoting the concept note, “the e₹ system will bolster India’s digital economy, enhance financial inclusion, and make the monetary and payments systems more efficient.” In retrospect, India already has affordable, accessible and convenient digital payment systems in place, and they could be tweaked to support e₹.

RBI proposes to release two types of e₹ for retail and commercial purposes

At the moment, the central banks seem to have a consensus about releasing two types of e₹ “based on the usage” and the purpose. These include CBDC-R for retail which could be available for everyone in the private sector, non-financial consumers and businesses. In contrast, the CDBC-W could be available for financial institutions.

Indian financial institutions are also figuring out the best way to issue and manage the digital currency, whether CBDCs should bear interest and if they should be account-based or token-based. However, it is essential to remember that while RBI has just published a concept note about the Indian digital currency - the digital currency itself has not been released yet.

Apple Watch reportedly detects pregnancy ahead of clinical test: Here is what happened

An Apple Watch has reportedly been credited with spotting a woman's pregnancy before she was even aware of it.

According to a 34-year-old woman on Reddit, the watch indicated that her average resting heart rate had significantly increased in just a few days, which made her suspect that something was off.

"Usually, my resting heart rate is about 57 and my heart rate has increased to 72. It's not a big jump, but it showed up on an alert that it's been higher for 15 days. I started trying to figure out why," she wrote on the platform.

"The watch knew I was pregnant before I knew it! I would have never ever tested without wearing my watch because I have not had a period to be late on one," she added.

Meanwhile, the tech giant unveiled Apple Watch Series 8 in India, which delivers best-in-class health features, including an innovative temperature sensor that enables advanced features for women's health and Crash Detection for severe car crashes.

Apple 5G modem may take its sweet time before arriving in an iPhone: Know details

Apple is likely to build its own 5G modem for new iPhones but reports suggest that chip-maker Qualcomm is still going to provide its modem for upcoming iPhones at least till 2025.

A note to investors by Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu has said that Qualcomm Snapdragon X75 modem will be used in the 2024 iPhones.

Meanwhile, all four iPhone 15 models next year are expected to be equipped with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon X70 modem.

The 5G modem will be made by TSMC using a 4nm process to introduce power efficiencies, reports MacRumors.

The iPhone 15 using X70 modem could provide download speeds of up to 10Gbps, improved coverage, better signal quality and up to 60 per cent improved power efficiency.

However, the prospect of an iPhone using an Apple-designed modem has potentially been pushed back to 2025, the report suggested.

Famed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also predicted that iPhone 15 could continue to use Qualcomm modems.

According to Kuo, due to the high demand for the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max, the tech giant may decide to further differentiate its next iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models.

Kuo had also suggested that "Ultra" will exclusively have a periscope lens (6x or 5x). Also, the Ultra will come with an improved battery life.

Facebook warns its users about their data being stolen: Here is what happened

Meta-owned Facebook has announced that it would be warning around a million Facebook users about their login credentials being stolen. Facebook says that this is all because of a security flaw with over 400 apps downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

In a statement, Facebook said that the apps in the list include many photo editing software, camera apps, games, VPNs and even some fitness tracking apps. Facebook has already confirmed that they have notified both Apple and Google.

As of now, both Apple and Google have many of the 400 applications reported by Facebook. Meanwhile, a Google spokesperson claimed that the Android users are protected by Google Play Protect which blocks such harmful or shady apps.

Malicious apps and compromised FB login: What happened

Malicious Apps

Facebook explained that after a user downloads one of the malicious apps reported by them, the app would first ask for a Facebook login to work. When the user logs in using Facebook, they basically gives in their login credentials like username and password. Now this grants the app developer access to their data and they won’t even have an idea.

"Cybercriminals know how popular these types of apps are, and they'll use similar themes to trick people and steal their accounts and information," said David Agranovich, Director of Global Threat Disruption at Meta. "If an app is promising something too good to be true, like unreleased features for another platform or social media site, chances are that it has ulterior motives."

Furthermore, during a briefing, he also said that “Many of the apps provided little to no functionality before you logged in, and most provided no functionality even after a person agreed to log in”.

Compromised FB account: What you need to do Reset Facebook account with a stronger password. Activate 2-factor authentication on your Facebook account. Enable login alerts so that you will be notified when an unauthorized login happens.

Google is going to pull the plug of Assistant Driving Mode Dashboard soon: Here is what you are left with

Tech giant Google has announced to shut down the Assistant Driving Mode Dashboard that was announced at its developer conference I/O in 2019.

Google will shut down the entire Assistant Driving Mode Dashboard on November 21, reports 9To5Google.

Driving Mode, another name for the car-optimised experience in Google Maps for Android, will continue to exist, the report said.

Shortcuts for calling and messaging are included on the homescreen, along with audio controls and media choices.

Shortcuts can be accessed, after starting the driving navigation. It has a black bar with Assistant access and a grid of app icons for YouTube Music, Google Podcasts, and other compatible streaming services.

"Voice shortcuts also available for phoning and texting. Compared to the Driving Mode Dashboard, it is significantly more straightforward," said the report.

Google now no longer has a direct successor to Android Auto for Phone Screens with this change, the report added.

Google in 2019 announced to roll out a voice-enabled driving mode on Assistant that would not only personalise suggestions for navigation, messages, calling and media, but also bring all relevant activities front and centre.

Driving mode would launch on Assistant once the user connects their phone to the car's Bluetooth.

If the user's phone is not connected to the car, they could just say, "Hey Google, let's drive".

In addition to driving mode, Google also announced to make it possible to use Assistant to remotely control cars -- like users could ask Google to adjust the car's temperature before the driver gets in.
