NASA starts to study UFO mysteries: Heres what that entails

NASA has kicked off a study to help scientists learn more about unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) or UFOs (unidentified flying objects).

Over the course of nine months, the independent study team with 16 members will lay the groundwork for future study on the nature of UAPs for NASA and other organisations, the space agency said in a statement.

The team includes leading scientists, data and AI practitioners, aerospace safety experts, and other experts in their respective fields.

The study will focus solely on unclassified data. A full report containing the team's findings will be released to the public in mid-2023.

"Exploring the unknown in space and the atmosphere is at the heart of who we are at NASA," said Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator of the Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC.

"Understanding the data we have surrounding unidentified aerial phenomena is critical to helping us draw scientific conclusions about what is happening in our skies. Data is the language of scientists and makes the unexplainable, explainable," he said.

Unidentified aerial phenomena are of interest for both national security and air safety and the study aligns with one of NASA's goals to ensure the safety of aircraft.

Without access to an extensive set of data, it is nearly impossible to verify or explain any observation, thus the focus of the study is to inform NASA what possible data could be collected in the future to scientifically discern the nature of UAP.

"NASA has brought together some of the world's leading scientists, data and artificial intelligence practitioners, aerospace safety experts, all with a specific charge, which is to tell us how to apply the full focus of science and data to UAP," said Daniel Evans, the assistant deputy associate administrator for research at NASA's Science Mission Directorate.

The findings will be released to the public in conjunction with NASA's principles of transparency, openness, and scientific integrity.

Apple to reportedly bring iOS 16 features to iPadOS soon

Apple might roll out the iOS 16 features to the iPad soon along with the Stage Manager.

The tech giant has officially unveiled iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16.1, which indicates that iOS 16 features like iMessage editing and undo send in Mail will eventually be added to the iPad, reports The Verge.

Additionally, the Stage Manager multitasking function, however, which was unpopular and unreliable during the iPadOS betas, is now officially released.

Although the company postponed the release of iPadOS 16 from its September date, Stage Manager might still have some issues when it will made available to the general public in version 16.1.

Stage Manager would not have external display support upon launch despite the delay, the report said.

Recently, the company had announced to roll out iOS 16.1 update with new features, including 'Live Activities', 'Clean Energy Charging' and more.

'Live' feature gave updates about an ongoing sports game and tracks the progress of the ride.

The update supported 'Matter', a new smart home connectivity standard that enabled compatible accessories to work together seamlessly, across platforms.

'Clean Energy Charging' focused on decreasing the carbon footprint of the iPhone by planning charging times for when the grid was using cleaner energy sources.

The Elder Scrolls Online players can transfer their data from Stadia to PC

Last month, Google announced it would shut down its cloud gaming platform, Stadia. The news came as quite a shock to enthusiasts as the Alphabet-owned company had pushed Stadia extensively in the past. Nevertheless, gamers who had spent their time playing titles on Stadia soon started questioning what would happen to their saved progress, titles and content library. While Google did not have an answer to such queries, in the beginning, game developers and publishers stepped in to help Stadia users.

Here is how to transfer The Elder Scrolls Online data from Stadia to PC

For instance, Bethesda has announced that it will allow The Elder Scrolls Online players to transfer their account and other data from their Stadia account to a PC or Mac. To transfer their data, all Stadia players have to do is log in to their account via a PC or a Mac and download the game on their device. It would not cost the players a single penny and save all their progress, along with in-game characters, collectables and other items.

It is possible because The Elder Scrolls Online players have been playing on the PC/Mac mega servers from the very beginning. The cloud gaming service was running the games on the same servers used by PC and Mac users; hence, the saved data is compatible across both platforms. Even if players cannot access their account information, Bethesda states that they will be able to recover it. In the worst case, players can contact the company via its support page.

Stadia shuts down on January 2023

Elder Scrolls Stadia

While Google shuts down Stadia on January 23, 2023, those who purchased the hardware from the company via the official Play Store will get a full refund. However, the company has not yet clarified the process for initiating the refund. Nevertheless, customers will be notified of Google’s plans well in advance. In the meantime, if players want to explore other cloud gaming options, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Nvidia’s GeForce Now and Amazon Luna are the available options.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ banner leak suggests a curved AMOLED display

Redmi Note 12 Pro+ banner leaked online before the company's official announcement. The picture that surfaced online confirmed the smartphone will feature a curved display. Although preliminary information, it is likely that the panel in question will be OLED. The company has not yet revealed any specifications of the smartphone, and we know little about the details of the new phone. However, tipsters have claimed some features of the upcoming series.

The Redmi Note 12 phones could include a Dimensity 1080 chipset for the two Pro models. The Dimensity 1080 chipset is an upgrade over the Dimensity 920 in a few ways, but the focus is on the chip's ability to handle a 200MP camera. Therefore, expecting a 200MP camera from at least one of the Redmi Note 12 phones is not unreasonable.

Redmi Note 12 Pro

Xiaomi's Weibo post teasing the Redmi Note 12 series confirmed that the phones will come with "two major technologies," one of them being "first in the world." In addition, it confirms that the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ has been certified to support 210W charging.

Now, there is still a bit of mystery in the air, and the more details are likely to be uncovered closer to the launch date.
