Elon Musk makes a dramatic entrance at Twitters headquarters company could announce the acquisition soon

The richest man in the world, Elon Musk, made a dramatic entrance into Twitter's headquarters on October 26, 2022. Apparently, the SpaceX and Tesla CEO entered the San Francisco premises of the microblogging platform carrying a bathroom sink in his hand. Yes, that's right; the world's most influential personality walked into Twitter's office with a white-coloured sink in his hand for some reason and posted a video of the same on his Twitter account.

“Let that sink in,” says Musk

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) October 26, 2022

In this video, we can see Musk entering the premises, holding a sink, and talking to someone not visible in the camera. Guess what could be the caption of the video posted by Musk? It reads, "Entering Twitter HQ - let that sink in," which seems to be a word-play around his entrance into the Twitter premises after the back and forth with Twitter in the past few months and the object he's carrying with him, i.e., a sink.

Earlier that day, Twitter's Chief Marketing Officer and Head of People, Leslie Berlan, notified the staff that Elon Musk would be in the office in the coming days, as per a report by Business Insider. The email reads, "you'll soon see or hear Elon is in the SF (San Francisco) office this week meeting with folks, walking the halls, and continuing to dive into the important work you all do."

The email also says that it would be the beginning of many meetings and conversations with Elon, and all the employees will hear from him on Friday, i.e., October 28, 2022. Amidst these events, Musk changed his Twitter bio to "Chief Twit" on Wednesday. From what it looks like, Musk could have agreed to close the deal with Twitter.

We can expect some big announcements on Friday, October 28, 2022

Earlier this month, Kathaleen McCormick, a Delaware judge, halted the Musk-Twitter case. McCormick gave both parties until October 28, 2022, to mend things and close the initial deal that valued the microblogging platform at $44 billion. Before that, Musk was supposed to appear for a trial on October 17, 2022. However, the judge's verdict gave him some time to arrange the hefty amount.

As per the judge's condition, Elon could acquire Twitter for the aforementioned amount before the stipulated data. Elon agreed upon the same but on the condition that Twitter would withdraw the case against him. Now that the "Chief Twit" is roaming around the halls of Twitter's San Francisco headquarters, it appears the acquisition is on its way and could be announced anytime soon. Since Musk is about to address the employees on Friday, we can expect some headlines.

New reports suggest that video games help in improving the understanding performance in children

According to a report by the National Institute of Health, video games help with a better understanding performance in children. The researchers found that the children who were playing video games were faster and more accurate when compared to the children who don’t play video games. Let’s take a detailed look at the report shared by NIH.

How do video games affect children?

Scientists separated about 2,000 children into two groups, the ones who don’t play video games at all and kids who play games for three or more hours per day. It was found that those who reported playing video games for three hours per day or more performed better on cognitive skills tests.

These tests involved impulse control and working memory compared to children who had never played video games. According to the researchers, these patterns stem from practising tasks related to impulse control and memory while playing video games. These can be cognitively demanding, and these changes lead to improved performance on related tasks.

“While we cannot say whether playing video games regularly caused superior neurocognitive performance, it is an encouraging finding, and one that we must continue to investigate in these children as they transition into adolescence and young adulthood,” said Bader Chaarani, PhD, assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Vermont and the lead author on the study.

“Many parents today are concerned about the effects of video games on their children’s health and development, and as these games continue to proliferate among young people, it is crucial that we better understand both the positive and negative impact that such games may have.”

While a lot of prior studies have reported that video gaming in children leads to an increase in depression, violence, and aggressive behaviour, this specific study did not find that to be the case.

iOS 161 features are cool but heres why you should really update your iPhones

Apple has rolled out iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16.1 updates to the respective devices. Now, many of us may have already updated and got the new features like Live Activities, battery percentage indicator on the iOS status bar, Clean Charging option, and more. However, there may be still some folks who haven’t updated their devices for whatever reason. Well, if you are one, we urge you to update your iPhones and iPads to the latest version, and mind you it is not just about the features but rather for security reasons.

Among other things, the new iOS and iPadOS updates bring fixes for a number of vulnerabilities, one of which is a zero-day exploit. Here’s all you need to know:

What is this Zero-day exploit all about?

According to Apple, an “anonymous researcher” pointed out the CVE-2022-42827 vulnerability that “may have been actively exploited”.  This was apparently some sort of memory corruption flaw caused by an “out-of-bounds write,” and “arbitrary code with kernel privileges” may have been exploited as a result.

With this, Apple has fixed around 8-9 zero-day exploits so far this year.

Which devices could have been affected by this zero-day exploit?

iPhone iOS 16.1

The affected devices could include iPhone 8 and later, iPad Pros, iPad Air 3rd generation and later, iPad 5th generation and later, and iPad mini 5th generation and later.

Why should you update to iOS 16.1?

iOS 16.1

So, the solution to this problem is that you need to update your iPhones and iPads to iOS 16.1 and iPad 16.1 update that was recently earlier this week. These updates also patch 19 other vulnerabilities and you also get to experience the new iOS 16.1 features.
