Dizo Watch D Pro brings Dizo D1 chipset, Bluetooth calling, and more at 2,699

Dizo Watch D Pro has launched in India for under ₹3000 and it comes with dual health sensors for tracking heart rate and blood oxygen. You get Bluetooth calling facility and unlike its peers which rely on dual chipset solutions for this, the Dizo watch uses a single chipset called Dizo D1. We will see what’s the benefit of this along with the full details about the smartwatch below:

What is Dizo D1?

Dizo

Dizo D1 is a single chipset that takes care of Bluetooth calling on Dizo Watch D Pro in an efficient and stable manner, as per the brand. How you may wonder? Well, Dizo claims the use of a single chipset negates the need of connecting the watch to Bluetooth twice. It also highlights the chip bundling GPU and 4 times more RAM for a rather smooth UI.

Let’s see what else the watch offers for the price.

The Dizo Watch D Pro weighs 45 grams and inside it features a 24x7 heart rate monitor, a blood oxygen reader, a 270mAh battery (with up to 7 days battery life claim without calling feature), In-app GPS, and smart notifications. The watch is accompanied by a magnetic charger in the box.

You also get IP68 dust and water resistance, Bluetooth 5.3, and Dizo OS (which looks and feels like Realme Watch UI, albeit a trimmed-down variant).

Apple might soon open physical stores in India: Find details here

The Financial Times recently reported that Apple is now hiring to fill positions in a rumoured physical store that will open in India. The company has posted job openings across “various locations” for 12 retail stores. These openings include roles such as Genius Bar workers, store leaders, store managers, and so on. The part-time and full-time positions refer to the unconfirmed Apple Stores, however, there is no information regarding how many roles there are.

Apple has already begun hiring for its physical store

Apple

According to The Financial Times, Apple has already hired five employees in New Delhi and Mumbai. Apple’s head of recruiting in India, Renu Sevanthi, confirmed the same on LinkedIn.

Last year, The Economic Times reported that Apple was planning to open a store spanning 22,000 square feet in Mumbai at the beginning of 2023. They are also going to open a 10,000 - 12,000 square foot store in New Delhi, and others in the country. But, the official opening dates are yet to be confirmed.

More Apple iPhones manufactured in India

 Apple Stores

In other news, Apple has also expanded production in India recently due to the delays in manufacturing caused by internal issues in China. With India all set to increase the scope of production yet again, the tech giant may be viewing the country as a viable manufacturing hub that can beat Vietnam and China when it comes to cheap operational costs. India also represents a large smartphone market, and though only a select few in the country can purchase Apple products, going by the population, even that small demographic represents a large number of consumers. EMI options on e-commerce websites have increased the pool of willing consumers too.

Apple might not launch the iPhone SE 4 in 2024

Apple’s newest budget iPhone offering, known as the Apple iPhone SE 4, has had many rumours and speculations surrounding it since the launch of the Apple iPhone SE 3 in 2022. Many believe this smartphone will offer a design similar to the Apple iPhone XR and come with a 6.1-inch display, upgraded internals, Face ID, and support for 5G networks. Other recent reports have indicated that the launch of the Apple iPhone SE 4 will be pushed to 2024. However, now, according to Ming Chi Kuo, Apple may forgo the launch entirely.

Apple iPhone Ming Chi Kuo’s speculations about the Apple iPhone SE 4

Details that have been shared by Ming Chi Kuo, a known analyst, indicate that the Apple iPhone SE 4 may be cancelled entirely. Kuo wrote that the “supply chain has received instructions from Apple indicating that the production and shipment plans for the 2024 iPhone SE 4 have been canceled rather than delayed” in a post on Medium. Kuo has stated that this is possibly due to concerns related to Apple’s upcoming in-house chipset.

Apple has been working on its own 5G modem for a while now, and it is believed that these modems will be used in the Apple iPhones in 2023. It was believed that Qualcomm is supply 20% of chipsets. However, Apple is not satisfied with the performance of its 5G models which is why they didn’t want to use it in the upcoming budget smartphone.

iPhone SE 4 5G Modem was supposed to be tested via the Apple iPhone SE 4

According to Kuo, Apple was planning to test out its 5G modem via the Apple iPhone SE 4. He also said  “…the cancelation of the iPhone SE 4 has significantly increased the chances of Qualcomm remaining the exclusive supplier of baseband chips for the 2H24 new iPhone 16 series, which is better than the market consensus that Qualcomm will start losing iPhone orders in 2024,”
