Realmes Shahrukh Khan deal, plus 5 Indian celebrities that helped sell phones

Following teasers, Realme declared that it had chosen Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan as its new brand ambassador in advance of the June release of its Realme 11 Pro series phones. In case you didn’t know, realme introduced these cellphones in China in May 2023 and has since obtained numerous certifications, including those from the FCC, TDRA, and other organisations. 

These certifications demonstrated that the Realme 11 Pro 5G series smartphones might be the same in both global as well as Chinese markets. The series can be expected to arrive in India by the end of June.

Previously, Salman Khan was chosen by the phone company to serve as the brand mascot for their Realme 6 series in 2020 and KL Rahul was chosen in 2021.

The actor Shahrukh Khan stated, “The brand’s unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries aligns perfectly with my own pursuit of excellence. Together, we aim to ignite innovation and fuel the growth of Realme globally,” when talking about the collaboration. Before Realme, Shahrukh Khan was the brand ambassador for Nokia in 2007 and Apple in 2017. Samsung - Alia Bhatt partnership

Alia Bhat is considered one of the most popular actresses currently and has a following of 77.4 million fans on Instagram, establishing a prominent reach on social media.

Shahid Kapoor along with his better half Mira Rajput Kapoor were made the brand ambassadors for smartphone company OnePlus, most recently for their TV campaign in 2022. The OnePlus brand capitalised on the popularity of the couple for their smartphone and television campaigns in the past.

Vivo - Virat Kholi

Virat Kholi, a celebrated Indian cricketer, partnered with smartphone brand Vivo. And even though he’s not from the Bollywood industry, Virat Kohli’s celebrity status is cemented on the cricket field and in the hearts of millions of Indians.

Poco - Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya had been appointed as the brand ambassador for Poco at the starting of this year. Pandya has achieved a daredevil persona in the eyes of the Indian audience with IPL popularity and the mass appeal to audience with his on field demeanour. The cricketer has gained popularity in the last few years and can hold influence on a sub-group of audience which the smartphone brand also taps into.

WhatsApp will let you set username: Will this improve your privacy

WhatsApp has been continuously rolling out features both for Android as well as iOS version, and now this username feature will allow WhatsApp users to select a username for their profile. 

Just the way we can select usernames for social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter or Snapchat, the same way now there will be a username for WhatsApp users as well.

The WhatsApp username feature is still under development, and it hasn't even been rolled out to beta users right now. The WhatsApp Android Beta 2.23.11.15 which has been recently released will have this feature eventually. Once it has been tested, it will then be rolled out to other users.

Hours before launch, BGMI error code 1 frustrating eager gamers like crazy

With BGMI set to drop in on the Google PlayStore on May 27, marking its return to India, gamers who had access to the game or had installed it before the ban are now getting a mysterious error code - “Error Code: Restriction-Area”. 

Right before the game’s official launch in the country, the servers seem to have been taken down. This could mean a multitude of things. However, before we get into all the details, here’s a brief look at all that has happened so far.

After a long-drawn battle with the authorities, BGMI has finally managed to make inroads into India, much to the joy of the fans and the professional players alike.

Given that the launch of the game is literally hours away, I can safely guess that Krafton is getting its servers ready for the massive influx of players that they are going to get upon launch.

This is a very normal operating procedure followed by developers of games before and after the launch of the game. And, given that many of the players in India, who had access to the game through means that necessarily aren’t the most legitimate, KRAFTON would also need to do some cleaning to ensure that the players who’ll sign up at the time of relaunch have a seamless experience.

The Youtuber then took to a social media post with the description.

What can AI not do It even found a new exoplanet 11 billion kilometres away

When we speak about AI, a majority will generative AI applications like ChatGPT or Midjourney, or personal assistants such as Alexa and Siri. However, the journey of artificial intelligence has progressed by leaps and bounds where we are talking about using machine learning and artificial intelligence to regenerate a human heart, produce autonomous vehicles and now, extend the technology further to even discover a new planet. That’s right, AI has significantly contributed to discovering a new planet, according to a report.  

A team at the University of Georgia confirmed that artificial intelligence played a fundamental role in discovering a new planet outside our solar system. This can be considered as a pathbreaking system in discovering new exoplanets which can help in identifying new planets by just utilising the protoplanetary disks. 

The basic understanding of this system is that AI helped in operating simulations to locate the exact periphery of the planet. However, the system is extremely intricate and complex and has taken the contribution of AI in Astronomy to the next level.

Jason Terry, a doctoral student at the UGA Franklin College of Arts and Sciences exclaimed “This newly-discovered planet increases the already extensive collection of over 5,000 exoplanets identified beyond our solar system.”

The technology is commendable for the abilities artificial intelligence is offering to astronomical and space studies. Until now the newly discovered planet was hard to identify because it was orbiting 75 astronomical units away around its star, hindering the astronomers’ attempts at accurately gauging it.

As of now, astronomers have discovered 5,000 exoplanets and as the technology improves the use of AI in identifying celestial bodies is only going to increase. The mission of discovering unknown and harder-to-detect planets has expanded with technology upgrading and revolutionising itself, thanks to AI. 

How does AI help in planet discovery?

The Astrophysical Journal recently published two papers which gave insights about how machine learning has been contributing to the discovery of planets beyond our solar system in outer space. The technology helps in identifying the faint signs in dense dust disks that form planets which eventually develop young stars. 

This AI tool in question works on the speed and efficiency of discovering forming planets especially when the telescopes deliver a flood of data on exoplanets in the Milky Way. The tool also works on identifying a signal in the previously analysed data making sure that there are no planets gone undiscovered.  “This demonstrates that our models and machine learning in general have the ability to quickly and accurately identify important information that people can miss” stated Terry.

There are AI models that are developing to underline evolution and formation of planetary systems. In a nutshell, astronomers can now discover planets that have been previously undetectable with the traditional methods.

AI4Bharat, a government supported initiative, has made a very helpful AI assistant for rural Indians to use, and it’s called Jugalbandi -- powered by ChatGPT. It’s accessible through WhatsApp, on Android phones, allowing Jugalbandi users to get access to government services in 50 Indian languages.

If you think about the name of the AI chatbot, Jugalbandi describes a duet of two musicians while conversing musically with one another, in terms of Indian classical music. So, the work of Jugalbandi is kinda similar to the name given: Rural Indian users of the AI chatbot can engage in a conversation to get their questions answered on a variety of government related topics.

What is Jugalbandi AI chatbot for Indian rural empowerment?  There are different government programs that provide information about very important things that people from rural India majorly need to know. But the language barrier of rural India is very real, as English and even Hindi language can be challenging for users.

Then it will be translated to English to search on the servers and finally within seconds the person who has asked the question receives the answer in their native language.
