OnePlus 2020 TVs up for pre-booking on Amazon with extended warranty benefits
OnePlus is expected to launch multiple TVs under its 2020 TV lineup and little details are known about the upcoming TVs. If a Bluetooth certification is to be believed, then we can expect OnePlus to launch up to 3 TVs - 32-inch, 43-inch and 55-inch TVs. While the specifications and price of the TV aren’t known, OnePlus has confirmed that the TVs will start under Rs 20,000. If you are one that wants to pre-book the TV, then there is good news for you. The OnePlus TVs are up for pre-booking on Amazon India and those that pre-book the device will get an additional 2 years warranty on the TV from Acko.
How to pre-book the OnePlus TV: Purchase the 2-year extended warranty worth up to Rs 3,000 at Rs 1,000 on Amazon between 23 June 2020 to 2 July 2020. An email confirmation will be shared on purchase. Purchase any of the new OnePlus TVs (2020 models) on Amazon before 5th August 2020. On purchase of the OnePlus TV, all customers who also purchased the 2-year extended warranty will receive Amazon Pay balance of Rs 1,000 by 10th August 2020.Coming to the benefits of the extended warranty, it covers the warranty of the new OnePlus TV if purchased on Amazon before Aug 5th, 2020. The warranty is valid for 24 months after the “comprehensive manufacturer warranty has expired” This means a consumer gets a total of 3 years warranty on the TV. The extended warranty covers electrical and mechanical failures covered under the original manufacturer's warranty. However, “wear and tear and additional elements of an appliance apart from the main unit, are not a part of the cover”.
If information circulating the internet is to be believed, then OnePlus is assembling its TVs in India. This will help the company save tax on imported electronics which, in turn, will help them keep the price of the TV down. You can read more about OnePlus making its TVs in India here.
In other OnePlus news, the company is looking to introduce an affordable OnePlus smartphone. You can catch all the details of the device here.

OnePlus accidentally reveals name of upcoming affordable phone
OnePlus Nord is likely the next smartphone by OnePlus that kickstarts the company’s lineup of affordable mobile phones. A lower-cost smartphone by the company has been in rumoured for quite some time now as the OnePlus Z or OnePlus 8 Lite, but the company didn’t officially acknowledge its existence until yesterday when it went live with the Instagram account dubbed as OnePlus Z Lite Thing.
The same account posted another update just minutes ago with a set of four pictures but one of them was deleted almost immediately. Eagle-eyed fans were quick to grab a screenshot of the deleted picture which indicates the name of the upcoming OnePlus phone as Nord. There is Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus in the picture and someone holding two cards with one of them having the words “NORD” written on it.
#OnePlus officially reveals the name of their new project: #NORD#OnePlusNord #NordByOnePlue pic.twitter.com/hSet9tfXbr
— Ishan Agarwal (@ishanagarwal24) June 24, 2020There’s another card which says “here’s to the first 100”, with the subtext being unreadable. With the announcement of its new Instagram account, OnePlus also revealed that they have surprises for the first 100 followers who join the account.
As per our previous report, OnePlus did register a trademark for “Nord by OnePlus” back in March, earlier this year. As for the Instagram account that goes by the name OnePlus Z Lite Thing, it is becoming increasingly apparent that it’s just a marketing term being used by the company that stems from all the rumours around the naming of the upcoming affordable smartphone.
OnePlus Nord leaked specificationsOnePlus Nord is rumoured to feature a 6.55-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED screen with a 90Hz high-refresh-rate. The leaks have indicated that the phone could have a punch-hole cutout in the centre for the selfie camera.
The phone will reportedly be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset with an octa-core processor and Adreno 620 GPU. This is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and there could be more variants as well.
The OnePlus Nord could come with triple camera setup on the back that consists of a primary 64MP camera, a 16MP ultra-wide-camera and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, there is a 16MP camera for selfies.
It is rumoured to be fitted with a 4,300mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging out-of-the-box. Carl Pei even suggested the phone could be priced as much as the original OnePlus One, which launched at around Rs 22,000. We’ll keep an eye out for developments with the OnePlus Nord in the heads up to the official launch that is expected to be scheduled sometime in July.

Google Search will now tell you the best shows to watch on Netflix, Hotstar and other streaming sites
With people spending more time at home, there’s a newfound vigour in finding good TV shows and movies to watch online. People usually search online asking “What to watch” or “best movies”, going by the search volumes for the keywords on Google. It seems Google has also taken note of the rising popularity and rolled out a new feature on Google Search that lets you search for movies and shows based on genres and streaming sites.
Starting today, searching for things like “good shows to watch” or “what to watch” will show up a carousel of recommended movies and TV shows from several OTT streaming sites which includes Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, SonyLiv, Voot, Google Play Movies & TV, and YouTube.
You can also search in Hindi, Marathi, Telegu, Kannada and English for similar recommendations in the language you prefer. Google said additional languages and streaming providers will be added later.
You can also choose to filter content based on the streaming sites you have subscribed to. An “Edit Providers” button will help you choose the platform you wish to binge on. These recommendations are personalised, according to Google, which means results will vary from one user to another.
Google also rolled out a “Watchlist” feature where you can save shows and movies for later. After searching “what to watch,” simply tap ‘Watchlist’ in the preview window for any show or film to add it to the viewing list.
Searches can also be specific like “bollywood movies in 2019” or “adventure documentaries about climbing,” and Google will filter out the best ones to watch, which is where the service will come real handy.
However, the feature doesn’t have all the popular streaming services to scan as of now. Curiously missing are Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV+. So your searches will be somewhat limited to the ones that are supported.
