Xiaomi will launch a new smartphone called Pocophone F1 under its new sub-brand Poco on August 22. The company has been teasing the upcoming device by stating that its highlights will be performance and speed and ahead of the launch, Flipkart has also put up a dedicated webpage, hinting that it will be a Flipkart exclusive smartphone. There is no mention of the Poco F1 on the Flipkart’s micro-site, however, the promo images are in-line with how Poco is teasing its upcoming handset. Additionally, via a Twitter post, the company has also confirmed that the Poco F1 will be running on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 SoC and it comes with “LiquidCool Technology” to keep the temperatures in check while gaming. Not much has been officially revealed about the smartphone, except the information stated above. However, the Poco F1 was previously spotted on Geekbench and in a hands-on video. The benchmark listing tipped that it will come with 6GB RAM and run on Android 8.1 Oreo and in the leaked video, we saw the device running on MIUI 9. In the Geekbench tests, the Pocophone F1 scores 2467 and 9081 in single-core and multi-core tests respectively. This is slightly higher than the Asus Zenfone 5Z, which is currently the cheapest smartphone running on Snapdragon 845. The 5Z scored 2439 and 9002 in single and multicore scores respectively, while the OnePlus 6 scores 2372 and 8502 in the same tests. The Pocophone F1 is expected to come with 64GB of internal storage and maybe in a 128GB internal storage model. An earlier report suggests that it might feature a ‘notched’ display and come with a dual camera setup and fingerprint sensor on the rear. It could pack a 4000mAh battery, feature a headphone jack and come with a USB Type-C port. You can read more about the smartphone here.
