Samsung has launched its first smartphone with a triple rear camera setup, the Galaxy A7 (2018) at a starting price of Rs 23,990 in India. The launch comes five days after the handset was launched on company’s home turf. The USP of the Galaxy A7 (2018) smartphone is an 8MP 120 degree Ultra Wide Lens, a 24MP sensor and a “Depth Lens” for Live Focus, all at the back of the device. The smartphone also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button. Samsung announced that the smartphone will be exclusively available on Samsung e-shop, Flipkart and Samsung Opera House on September 27-28. After that, the smartphone will be available across all retail channels. HDFC customers can avail a Rs 2,000 cashback credit and debit cards. “There is innovation and something new in every facet of the Galaxy A7 starting with the triple camera lens to power ultra-wide shots and intelligent features that ensure the best picture composition. The True FHD+ display with Super AMOLED Infinity Display and Widevine L1 certification delivers a superlative viewing experience. The bold new colours and a side fingerprint sensor deliver a refreshed design. We are confident that with this device, we will capture the imagination of the Indian millennial and be able to add to the celebrations during the festive season,” Sumit Walia, Director, Mobile Business, Samsung India, said in a statement. Samsung Galaxy A7 specification and features The three cameras on the Galaxy A7 include an 8MP 120 degree Ultra Wide Lens which Samsung says is the same viewing angle as the human eye. The a 5MP lens lets users control the depth of field by allowing them to adjust the bokeh effect. Thirdly, the third 24MP lens automatically lets more light in by combining four pixels into one pixel in low light conditions. The camera also features Samsung’s intelligent Scene Optimizer that categorises the subject and adjusts the colour, contrast and brightness to optimise image quality. The handset also supports super slow-motion mode that have been previously seen on the Galaxy S9 series and the Galaxy Note 9 where it can record videos at 960 fps. On the front is a 24MP camera with adjustable LED flash. Both the 24Mp lense come with Pixel Binning technology. The Galaxy A7 (2018) has features like Selfie Focus for bokeh selfies, Pro Lighting Mode, AR emoji and flattering filters. The smartphone features a 6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display protected by a Gorilla Glass 3. It has a Trust Zone technology processor that enables Widevine L1 certification, thus ensuring streaming apps to allow HD content to stream on the Galaxy A7. There is a 2.5D glass on the back. The Galaxy A7 comes in 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB variants. The on-board memory can be expanded upto 512GB. The phone runs on an Exynos 7885 SoC, which is clocked at 2.2GHz, and also supports Dolby Atmos sound technology. The device is powered by a 3,300mAh battery, runs the Android Oreo operating system and comes in Blue, Black, and Gold colours.
