Nokia 8 Sirocco, arguably one of the best looking devices from the house of HMD Global, seems to have received a huge price drop in India. The flagship smartphone made of stainless steel is now listed on Nokia’s India website for Rs 36,999, a drop of Rs 13,000 from its original price of Rs 49,999. If you go and look for the device on Flipkart, you will still find it listed for Rs 49,999, hence the permanent nature of the price drop is still unconfirmed. We have reached out to HMD Global to clarify the disparity in prices, but if you are looking to pick up the phone right now, you will be able to purchase the same at the lowered price from Nokia.com. Based on the price drop, a report from GSMarena speculates that HMD Global might be looking to take the Nokia 8 Sirocco (review) off shelves and discontinue the device. However, there are no facts or an official confirmation to support the claim. The report mentions that one will be redirected to a “currently not available” page when the ‘Buy Now’ option is clicked on Nokia’s India website, but when we checked, we were able to add the Nokia 8 Sirocco in our cart and checkout with the mentioned Rs 36,999 price tag. The Nokia 8 Sirocco features a dual-glass design and it is protected by Gorilla Glass 5, which covers 95 percent of the phone. It is made using a stainless frame and sports a 5.5-inch QHD (1440x2560) pOLED display. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and is powered by a 3260mAh battery, which can also be wirelessly charged. In terms of optics, the Nokia 8 Sirocco is equipped with dual-rear cameras with a 12MP wide-angle and a 13MP telephoto lens. The rear cameras are also come with a dual-tone LED flash and Zeiss optics. On the front, it features a 5MP fixed-focus sensor with a 1.4-micron pixel sensor and a f/2.0 aperture lens.
