An image which is claimed to be of the alleged Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 launch invite is making rounds on the internet hinting that the Chinese smartphone maker could launch the smartphone on October 15. The image was first spotted on Chinese microblogging website Weibo. The invite is in Mandarin but we could see a big ‘3’ written in the centre, and “Mi Mix 3” below it. There is mention of numbers “10” and “15” which could imply October 15. In August, Xiaomi President Lin Bin confirmed on Weibo that the company would launch a bezel-less smartphone in October. He also posted an image of the alleged smartphone. It was previously reported that Xiaomi could launch its first near bezel-less smartphone, the Mi Mix 3, on September 15. The Chinese tech giant had sent a launch teaser to Android Pure tech blog, which showed the lower half of a phone and mentioned “9.15”. The blog had claimed that that the phone in question could be the Mi Mix 3 which may come without the chin this year. Not a lot of info was provided in the image, but leaks and rumours have already confirmed the existence of the smartphone. It has been also claimed that the Mi Mix 3 might get a pop-up camera like the one in Oppo Find X but it may not have a motor in it and Xiaomi may choose to let people operate it manually. Meanwhile, another image on Weibo popped up showing the alleged Mi Mix 3 smartphone. In the image, there is a phone with no noticeable bezels on all the sides of the display and we could see “Mi Mix 3“ and “3.0” written on either side of the phone. What’s noteworthy is that the first generation of the smartphone completely removed the top bezel but featured a thick chin. The chin became thinner in the second generation of the smartphone. The Mi Mix 2S brought some refinement in the design and Mi Mix 3 could join Oppo and Vivo in launching a fully bezel-less smartphone. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is tipped to run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The smartphone may sport a 12MP + 12MP vertically-aligned dual-camera system on the back and may have a 20MP front shooter. When it comes to the software, the Mi Mix 3 is expected to run MIUI 10 on an unidentified Android platform.
