A new image of Google’s rumoured mid-segment smartphone “Sargo”, or Google Pixel 3 Lite, has leaked and it shows that the smartphone has similar looking display design as the flagship Google Pixel 3. In the image posted on Twitter by tipster Ben Geskin, the smartphone is seen placed side-by-side the Google Pixel 3. The phone on the left is the Lite variant and XDADeveloper says that the screen is marginally taller than the Pixel 3's, that is, it has a 5.56-inch screen as compared to Pixel 3’s 5.5-inch. Also, the aspect ratio of the Google Pixel Lite is said to be 18.5:9 as compared to Pixel 3’s 18:9. The leak comes a few days after the camera samples from the alleged Google Pixel 3 Lite were leaked by a Russian tech new platform. The Lite is expected to have the same 12MP rear camera as its higher priced lookalike, which could possible make it the best camera smartphone in the mid-range segment. On the front, it is claimed that the smartphone will have a single 8MP shooter. The smartphone could launch in the first half of next year with a retail price of around $400 in developing markets. Earlier this month, a Pixel-like smartphone with a single camera on the back, a Type-C port at the bottom, and a 3.5mm audio jack on top was leaked. As mentioned above, the phone look like the Pixel 3, it is implied that there will not be a notch on the smartphone and it is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and a 2,915mAh battery. Obviously the Pixel 3 Lite should run Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. The first mention of this smartphone was found in an APK teardown of ARCore version 1.5 by Android Authority. The mention of new profiles (or maybe even two currently unreleased Google devices) were found: The first bares the name Bonito and a new fish-themed codename of a supposed device: Sargo. It was reported that these could be two variants of a mid-range Pixel phone that are expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor. Apparently, these phones are being developed to grab some share in the mid-segment and counter “flagship killers” like OnePlus.
