A day after it was reported that Meizu may soon start a new inning in India, the company has confirmed that it is going to launch a smartphone in India on December 5. The company has sent media invites to the media fraternity which shows a smartphone with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The Chinese company has also updated its Twitter handle teasing the smartphone with a dual-camera setup. It is also possible that the company will launch three phones belonging to the same series. Currently, Meizu has three phones under the 16 series -- the Meizu 16 and Meizu 16 Plus which are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and a third device, the Meizu 16X, which has a similar product design and but a lower price tag. The information is in sync with a previous report that said that the company will unveil three smartphone and pit them against OnePlus and Xiaomi. With a whopping 65-percent market share, Xiaomi is currently the most preferred brand for users in the Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 price segment. When it comes to the Rs 25,000 - Rs 40,000 segment, OnePlus leads with 55 percent, followed by Xiaomi at 47 percent, Apple with 45 percent and Samsung at 39 percent. The new Meizu smartphones are expected to have dual-SIM functionality and run Flyme OS on top of Android OS. The one smartphone, which the company is expected to put against the OnePlus 6T may sport a 6-inch full-HD+ display. It could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and may be offered in 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, and 8GB RAM 128GB onboard storage variants. As teased in a tweet, the smartphone may offer a dual-camera setup on the back and at least 3000mAh battery with fast charging support.
