Xiaomi will launch its Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphone at an event in India, which is slated to commence at 12 PM today. The smartphone has already been unveiled in China and there’s very little about it that isn't already known. However, the phone’s pricing, availability and launch offers will be detailed at today’s launch event. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro succeeds the company’s last year Note 5 Pro but it features minor iterative upgrades, the most notable one being the 19:9 display aspect ratio, dual front-facing sensors with AI-enabled features and a notch on the front. The main camera sensors on the device have also been revamped the display size is slightly bigger this time. How To Watch Launch Event Live Stream Xiaomi will be live streaming the Redmi Note 6 Pro’s launch on its official website here and it’s also expected to be streamed via the company’s other media channels. Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro Specifications Same as the Redmi Note 5 Pro, the Redmi Note 6 Pro also runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC. It sports a slightly larger 6.26-inch full-HD+ IPS LCD display with a 19:9 aspect ratio that has a notch on top. It is said to feature 86 percent screen-to-body ratio, and the screen is protected by a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass. When the phone was originally unveiled overseas, it was announced with 4GB RAM, coupled with 64GB of internal space, however, Xiaomi could launch more memory and storage variants in India. Coming to the optics, the Redmi Note 6 Pro comes equipped with dual 12MP + 5MP sensors on the back. The 12 MP sensor gets 1.4um pixel pitch and is paired with a lens having a f/1.9 aperture and dual auto-focus. The second 5MP sensor helps in depth perception for taking bokeh images. On the front, it features a 20MP main sensor that that is housed inside the notch along with the proximity/ambient light sensor, speaker and the notification light. The handset runs on a 4000mAh battery, which is said to last up to 2 days on a single full charge. Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro Expected Pricing The Redmi Note 6 Pro was priced at THB 7,000 (Rs 15,713 approx) in Thailand and announced in Black, Blue and Rose Gold colour models. It is expected to be priced around the same in India. In Thailand, Xiaomi offered the option of selecting from a free Mi Selfie Stick or Mi Wi-Fi Repeater to those purchasing the device but it’s not confirmed if there will be a similar offer for Indian buyers.
