Highlights: The Honor V20 launched globally, India launch next week It comes with a 48MP rear camera It also has Link Turbo technology Huawei has launched the Honor V20 globally, its first ever phone with a punch-hole camera in the display. It is also the first phone ever with this design to be available commercially in international markets. Apart from Huawei, only Samsung has unveiled a phone, called the Galaxy A8s, with this type of display design. Both Samsung and Huawei announced their respective phones on the same day in China. The Honor V20 has three USPs: All-View display, a 48MP rear camera and the Link Turbo technology, which is said to enable faster download speeds by leveraging both Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at 569 euros (approx Rs 46,000) and the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant costs 649 euros (approx Rs 52,500). While the 6GB variant will be available in Black and Blue colours, the 8GB version will be available with Moschino Co-Design edition in Blue and Red colours. Moschino is an Italian luxury fashion house specialising in leather accessories, shoes, luggage and fragrances. Honor is set to launch the device in India on January 29. During the run up to the maiden launch, a Maserati Edition of the smartphone was spotted on the internet. There is a 4,000mAh battery with super fast charge support. The phone runs Android Pie 9.0 with Magic UI 2.0 on top. Honor View 20 specifications The Honor View 20 sports a 6.4-inch Full HD+ All-View display that offers a resolution of 2310x1080 pixels. The display has a circular cutout on the top left corner, which the company says is 4.5mm in diameter. There is a glass back panel with V-shaped pattern under the glass. Under the hood, the smartphone has an octa-core Kirin 980 flagship chipset. The device also has GPU Turbo 2.0, a technology that is claimed to boost performance during gaming sessions. There is a liquid cooling tech to keep the CPU temperature in check. In the camera department, the Honor View 20 has a 48MP Sony IMX586 CMOS sensor on the back, which uses pixel binning technology to give a 1.6 micron pixel. The rear camera also comes with a secondary Time of Flight sensor whose duties are to collect depth information and aid in autofocus. The punch-hole in the display houses a 25MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture.
