Highlights: Huawei P30 and P30 Pro to have OLED displays The Pro variant is said to have periscope camera module for hybrid zoom Both are expected to be powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC There have already been a few leaks that have talked a lot about the display and camera of Huawei’s upcoming P-Series of flagship smartphones. The latest leak builds on these previous leaks and claims that both the Huawei P30 and the P30 Pro smartphones will have an OLED display. Last year, the P20 came with a LCD panel, while the Pro variant got an OLED one. The latest report also says that both the models will also have an optical in-display fingerprint sensor. According to a report, the Pro variant is expected to get a periscope module just like the one that has been rumored to feature in the Oppo F19 and Oppo F19 Pro smartphones. It is still not known about how much optical zoom capability will be offered by Huawei in its phones. Moreover, the P30 and P30 Pro phones won’t be featuring 3D structured light module for 3D face scanning. Reportedly, P30 will have Sony IMX600 has the primary sensor, whereas the P30 Pro is expected to have the Sony IMX607 sensor. The phones are expected to run on EMUI 9.0 based on the Android Pie 9.0 and might come with 22.5W charging capabilities. Reportedly, the Huawei P30 is said to have a 6.1-inch display, while the P30 Pro is expected to get a larher 6.5-inch screen. Both the Huawei P30 and the Huawei P30 Pro are expected to be powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC, which has been manufactured using 7nm process, complemented by 8GB and 12GB RAM variants. Huawei says that the 7nm process delivers 20 percent improved SoC performance and 40 percent improved efficiency. The Kirin 980 is also the first SoC to use the Cortex-A76 cores, which are said to be 75 percent more powerful and 58 percent more efficient compared to their previous generation. In an octa-core configuration, the CPU in Kirin 980 is comprised of two high-performance Cortex-A76 cores; two high-efficiency Cortex-A76 cores; and four extreme efficiency Cortex-A55 cores.
