Highlights: Nokia 1 Plus spotted running Android 9 (Go Edition). It could be powered by MediaTek MT6739 processor. The listing shows a display with 480x960 pixels resolution, suggesting a 5-inch display. HMD Global could soon launch the successor of the Nokia 1 Android Go device which launched in India last year. Called the Nokia 1 Plus, the device has been seen online in the Google Play Console Device Catalog. According to XDA Developers, the Nokia 1 Plus is code-named ‘ANT’ and it runs the Android 9 Pie (Go Edition). Android Go is an optimised version of Android OS which run on devices with low-end processors and low RAM. According to the specifications reported by XDA, the Nokia 1 Plus has a MediaTek MT6739 processor, which is coupled with 1GB RAM. The processor features four ARM Cortex-A53 cores at a maximum 1.5GHz clock speed and it is also seen having an Imagination Tech PowerVR GE8100 GPU running at up to 570MHz. The listing shows that the display is offers a resolution of 480x960 pixels, suggesting a 5-inch display. During the third quarter, HMD Global increased the shipments of Nokia smartphones and feature phones. On a global level, the company took the 9th spot on the smartphones vendors list and the second on feature phones vendor list. According to Counterpoint Research, HMD Global shipped 4.8 million Nokia smartphones and 15.6 million Nokia feature phones during the third quarter of 2018. The company registered a 138 percent growth in 2018. Nokia is also expected to launch the Nokia 9 PureView smartphone as well as a phone with a punch-hole display at MWC on February 24. The Nokia 9 PureView has a total of five cameras on the back and it can reportedly click photos with all the five sensors simultaneously. The Nokia 9 PureView may feature a 5.99-inch PureDisplay display panel with 2K resolution and HDR10 compliance. Under the hood, the Nokia 9 PureView is expected to launch running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Apparently called the Nokia 8.1 Plus, the Nokia phone with the punch-hole display is reported to have a 6.22-inch almost edge-to-edge display with a FullHD+ resolution. According to the recently leaked 5K renders, the phone is expected to sport a dual camera unit along with an LED flash on the back. It seems to retain the 3.5mm headphone jack and will have a USB-C port. The power button and the volume rockers are on the left side of the phone.
