Highlights: Oppo teases phone with an in-display fingerprint sensor Teaser suggests that this could be an affordable device It is speculated that the phone could be the Oppo K1 Oppo has teased a new phone that has an in-display fingerprint sensor. Without revealing any other features and specifications, the Chinese smartphone maker says that this phone belongs to a new series that hasn’t been launched in India so far. It is expected to be a Flipkart-exclusive device because the e-commerce platform has made a microsite live teasing the smartphone. It is speculated that the phone could be the Oppo K1. “Latest tech at an incredible price...From the the House of Oppo. Get ready to experience a touch of genius that will make you the trend setter! With a remarkable ‘in-display’ fingerprint scanner at an unbelievable price! A new series from Oppo is coming soon to #unlockwithstyle.. For You,” reads the text on the microsite. The news comes a few days after a report claimed that Oppo could soon launch the F11, F11 Pro and R17 Neo phones in India. Since Oppo has clarified that the upcoming phone will be from a new series, it is unlikely that the company is teasing the above mentioned phones. Oppo’s F-Series and R-Series phones have already been launched in India. Just as Oppo mentioned that the phone from the new series will have an in-display fingerprint sensor, the rumoured F-Series phones are reported to have its 10x Hybrid Optical Zoom technology. In the 10x Hybrid optical zoom technology, Oppo uses a series of lenses to focus light on the sensor. While the traditional smartphone sensor receives light just like any other camera, the pivoted sensor in this technology redirects light like a prism. The technology uses the width of the phone to get the zoom. The company is likely to show this technology at MWC in Barcelona later this year.
