Highlights: Reliance JioPhone can now be recharged with two new long-term prepaid plans. The Rs 297 and Rs 594 recharges are now available for JioPhone users. Both plans offer unlimited calling, daily data and more. Reliance Jio has announced two new prepaid recharge plans for JioPhone users. The company is now offering prepaid plans priced at Rs 297 and Rs 594, which come with 84 and 168 days of validity. The two plans offer unlimited calling, daily high-speed data, SMS and more. The Rs 297 and Rs 594 prepaid plans come with overall 42GB and 84GB of high-speed data, with an 84 day and 168-day validity respectively. However, one will get 0.5GB (500MB) of high-speed data every day, along with unlimited calling, 300 SMS and complimentary subscription to the company’s suite of apps like JioCinema, JioMags and others. Do note that after exhausting the high-speed data, speeds will be capped to 64 kbps speeds. The new plans are also eligible for the JioPhone 2. Alongside the new plans, Reliance Jio also offers other prepaid plans for JioPhone users. The first plan is priced at Rs 48 with which users get unlimited calling, 1GB high-speed daily data, 50 free SMS, and access to Jio’s suite of apps for 28 days. There is also a Rs 99 plan that offers 14GB of overall data with free calling, 300 SMSes, and access to Jio apps for 28 days. Finally, the Rs 153 plan from the company offers free calling, 42GB of data, access to Jio apps, and unlimited SMSes for a validity of 28 days. Speaking of JioPhone 2, the device features a horizontal display as opposed to the vertical one found on the first JioPhone. It has a 2.4-inch display and sports a QWERTY keypad with four-way navigation. The smart feature phone comes with 512MB RAM, coupled with 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB using a micro-SD card. It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and in terms of optics, it is equipped with a 2MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front-facing sensor. It supports dual VoLTE SIM cards, runs on KAI OS and is powered by a 2,000mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, the JioPhone 2 supports 4G VoLTE. The phone also supports NFC, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth Low Energy and will have an FM Radio built-in. Similar to the JioPhone, the JioPhone 2 also supports voice commands, so users can just press one button to open apps, call contacts, send messages and more. In terms of apps, the JioPhone 2 supports all of Jio's apps including JioMusic, JioCinema and others. Facebook, WhatsApp and YouTube apps can also be downloaded on both JioPhones. The phone also supports 22 Indian languages and comes with Google Assistant voice navigation. Buyers can also purchase the JioMediaCable separately if they wish to connect their phone to their TVs and watch videos on a bigger screen.
