Highlights: BSNL BharatFiber users get one year free Amazon Prime subscription. The new benefit is available for BSNL internet users on 18GB Plan and above packs. Reliance Jio is expected to soon enter the home broadband space commercially and multiple internet providers are gearing to take on the oncoming competition in their own ways, ahead of the launch. We recently reported that ACT Fibernet is offering a free Amazon Fire TV Stick, discounts, free data and more to new and existing customers and now, BSNL has partnered with Amazon to offer free one-year Prime membership to its users. Users of BSNL BharatFiber broadband service who are on the company’s ‘18GB Plan’ (unlimited internet plan priced at Rs 777 per month) and above will get to avail the benefit of free one year of Amazon Prime subscription. Those who are eligible to avail the offer can activate it by heading over to the company’s website. Commenting on the new development, Shri Vivek Banzal, Director CFA, BSNL says, “We understand the entertainment needs of our customers and have been putting together the technologies and products that work the best for our customers. Amazon Prime has been well accepted by Indian audience and we are hence giving the most preferred choice to our customers to own and enjoy the basket of benefits that Prime membership offers. We are doing more online engagements with customers as this brings enormous customer satisfaction and cuts down on our costs also in delivering excellent customer services. Our new data plans introduced in December, bringing highest in industry speeds at most affordable rates, have been an incredible success, and we’re working hard to meet the incredible demand.” This comes soon after the company revamped its Fibro Combo plans, which are now stated by the amount of data they credit in a day. The Fibro Combo ULD 777 plan is now renamed to 18GB Plan and offers 18GB data per day at 50Mbps speeds. Post the allocated data, one will be limited to 2Mbps speeds. The price of the plan remains the same at Rs 777 and offers the same 500GB of data but instead of getting the entire data at one go, it is now allocated daily to a user. Similar changes have taken effect over the company’s other broadband offerings.
