Highlights: LG may launch K12+ phone along with the LG G8 ThinQ at MWC. The mid-level phone is speculated to have MediaTek Helio P22 SoC. It could run Android 8.1 OS. It has been widely reported that LG will launch the LG G8 ThinQ at MWC this year. In fact, the company also teased a device in a video. A new report has now come up claiming that the South Korean company could also unveil an mid-level smartphone at its February 24 event in Barcelona, Spain. TigerMobiles claims that LG could also launch the K12+ at the event and has leaked a render and a few key specifications of the phone. According to the website, the LG K12+ is expected to have an HD+ display that will deliver a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. Though the display size is not known, the resolution suggests that it could deliver 18:9 aspect ratio. The render shows the phone having thick bezels on all four sides. There is a table which mentions that the phone could have the MediaTek Helio P22 chipset under the hood. This is the same processor that powers the Vivo Y93, among other phones. The processor in the LG K12+ is accompanied by 3GB of RAM. The phone may come with Android 8.1 Oreo OS. There are also reports which claim that LG could also launch the V50 ThinQ alongside the LG G8 ThinQ at its press conference at MWC. A leak details that phone will come equipped with the optional X50 5G modem, which Qualcomm designed and launched to provide 5G abilities to phones. The LG V50 ThinQ is expected to have a 6-inch display and a 4000mAh battery. The 5G phone is expected to launch in North America and Europe first, for a suggested retail price of $1163 (approx Rs 82,500). Meanwhile, the other phone in news, the LG G8 ThinQ, will reportedly equipped with Infineon-made time of flight (ToF) sensor on the front for 3D face unlock and improved selfies. The sensor will reportedly work to make face unlock much less power intensive as compared to solutions like Apple’s FaceID. Apart from that, the phone is said to run on the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 platform. It is suggested that the G8 may come with a triple camera setup with 3D photography capabilities and may have a waterdrop notch. Recently, some renders were leaked showing a fingerprint scanner on the back. On the front, two selfie shooters are seen, which could be the same as the cameras found on the V40 ThinQ. The phone could also sport a dedicated Google Assistant button. Related Read: LG V40 ThinQ goes on sale in India via Amazon: Price, Offers and all you need to know
